I like these polls!

I think we are gonna get a nice little grid-locked minority situation, and an ended to the string of irrational ideology based legislation we have been seeing over the last couple of years.

We can easily be headed for a minority outcome and any type of minority gov't is bad news for Conservatives. Only 31/2 months left before an era passes.

Opposing the Clarity Act with the Sherbrooke Declaration. 50% plus one to trigger separation.

I guess we give favouritism around the world when we uphold 50%+1 secessions and elections everywhere then, eh?

That will be the real win for all Canadians, even if the Cons get a minority government it will hopefully stop the attack on Canadian values and put a cap on the American Republican values Harper loves to push through our parliament for awhile.

I wonder though with this Reform Act passing through the Senate, that if the Cons get a minority government. If the Liberal and NDP MP's could stage some sort of parliamentary cuop with their leadership forcing a potential coalition through new leadership review votes. It could be possible I think.

American states like Colorado now rake billions in revenues overseeing pot sales while dinosaurs in Harper's cabinet howl with indignation over Vancouver's city council decision to regulate - and Vancouver city police's decision to not intervene - in local pot outlets.

Yes, American Republican values run rampant in this forum - just look what happened to one of their heroes today when Donald Trump was fired by NBC for his racist comments on Mexicans. Not so subtle racism - a problem with some Conservative posters here.

What voters would vote for a party, that taking 36 Billion out of the health care to the provinces, change the CPP, OAS age approval and tell those who really need it, to go on welfare??? What kind of voters would support a party, guilty of voter fraud and bribing for votes? A party that supports businesses and not workers, at least not Canadian.

I dont much care who wins the next election, but a part of me wants the cons to win again just to punish the people who believe stupid things like this. That alone, knowing i would out count just one person who believes this tripe, is almost enough to make me vote for them again. What utter, empty nonsense, an affront to any intelligent person.

It's no secret Harper loves Republican values. How does the sand taste, you must of had your head down there for long enough to know? Prove he doesn't or move on.

Do you really want to defend 50% plus one to have a Province secede from Canada? Is that what you are doing? You're entitled to your opinion but like I said, it likely will not play very well in the ROC. Doesn't seem "stupid" to me.

I don't give a crap what you think the ROC thinks. 50%+1 is good enough for us to go act as peacekeepers overseas and 50%+1 was good enough for Newfoundland to join.

You're taking things far too personally. I was pointing out some of the issues that Mulcair will face once his policies undergo more scrutiny. Liberals have always portrayed themselves as the guardians of national unity - so I would expect them to attack Mulcair by accusing him of wanting to repeal the Clarity Act.

Harper = Canadian values. The other 2 just make us pushovers. There is a big difference between canadian values and being push overs. And our values changed big time under the 1st trudeau.

If Harper equaled Canadian values, he wouldn't have so many haters. In fact Harper lovers are a shrinking minority in this country they just tend to be really loud.

If he is that hated then he is doing a good job. If he cowed to the unions like everyone else, he would be as hated. I still remember the strong proud country that was being built till trudeau came along and rip the soul out of English Canada while protecting Quebec and opening the country up to everyone . (for votes) And the hate you talk about that all comes from the left. The right did not like chretien and his moist corrupt government but was not ''hated''. Thanks for bringing the hate .

If Harper equalled Canadian values, you'd think he would be able to make at least a couple pieces of legislation that don't get shot down by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

I wouldn't be so quick to equate the Supreme Court and their interpretations of the Charter - with Canadian values. As an example....... On abortion rights - a strong majority of Canadians feel their should be some legislative protection for the unborn. On Capital Punishment, a strong majority favour either death or locking people up for life (real life - until you're dead). Although I can't support it, many older "polls" show that Canadians preferred bestowing legal rights to Gay couples in a sort of Domestic Partnership - but declined to support traditional marriage. As with much in politics - it depends on the questions being asked.

It also depends on the people you are asking.

I bet I could ask all those same questions to random people on the street and get different results.

Very scientific.

It's really just common sense. You should try it sometime.

The constitution and the carter were brought in based on Canadian values. And luckily the language contained therein was well enough worded based on those values that you cant just go out and canvass a bunch of rednecks and then decide we need to start killing people at the state level again, or deciding who is allowed to share ones life with based on gender. One of the reasons people want to come here is because we have laws that are fair and smart. And we are also smart enough to put legal scholars in charge of overseeing any changes to those rules. Who would you suggest sould be able to change them...the people on this web maybe...

Moist governments probably aren't as hateful as they are icky.

False. The reason people want to come here is because we have lax laws...generous social services and health care that are given free to anyone...soft social values that can be used against the people already here so we must adapt to the newcomer instead of the other way around...as it should be.

WTF are lax laws and soft social values...people come here now for the same reasons my grandparents did over a hundred years ago, to seek opportunity in land that had FAIR laws and treated immigrants well. Luckily the red neck screed you seem to subscribe to wasn't adhered to then, and hopefully it never will. Happy Canada Day.
