So the guy likes hockey and now it comes out he loves AC/DC. Another nail in the Ignatieff juggernaut.

Wild Bill
More power to the man, I say! He doesn't do a bad job, for an amateur. What's more, I share his taste in material. Nice of him to include Canadiana like Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings. If it had have been a Liberal party no doubt we would have been tortured by either Celine Dion or Walter Ostenek the Polka King playing the most wretched middle of the road or ethnic crap! Ignatieff always seemed to me to be the kid we laughed at in High School 'cuz he thought being a Neil Sedaka fan made him 'cool'... I have some political differences with Harper but as a human being I can relate to him a lot better than Ignatieff or God forbid, Jack Layton. I can picture Jack taking a year or two to nail the main riff from "Smoke on the Water"...
M.Dancer
Walter Ostenek the Polka King playing the most wretched middle of the road or ethnic crap! One think is sure...okay two things....No one plays Walter OStenek excpet 3 time Grammy winner, Wlater Ostenek....he isn't a song writer... If Walter was there...everyone would have over enjoyed themselves... Now everyone. And A one and A two In Heaven there is no beer (No beer?!) That's why we drink it here And when we're all gone from here Our friends will be drinking all the beer. In Heaven there is no wine (No wine?!) So we drink till we feel fine And when we leave this all behind Our friends will be drinking all the wine. In Heaven there is no fear (No fear) So we worry too much here And we drink ourselves full of beer To help us when we deal with the fear. In Heaven there are no drugs That's why we hang with thugs And when the Lord pulls the plug All the thugs will still be selling drugs, yeah. Thugs and drugs Beer... Harper is the exact opposite of everything john Lennon stood for. Harper and his ilk would have liked nothing better than to throw ol John in a prison cell under Bill s-10. What do you think John Lennon would have to say about Harper's G-20 stormtroopers?

Shakeyhands
Well gee, in retrospect he would have done well to have played that tune at the CPC party... Sounds as though he did a decent job learning the songs and performing! I wonder how much prep time he took though, do you think maybe he can get back to being an actual PM and dealing with the plethora of issues we have? Or alternatively, start his entertainment career now and let someone else do the job of governing?

Shwa
Watch out for that Soviet menace. Why do we bother with stormtroopers, Nazi's & Soviet when invoking hyperbole? I say we should go straight to making the comparisons to those aliens in Independence Day or the Aliens movies. So Saipan's comment might look like this: That won't be up to any gooey, teeth bearing, chest popping, mind controlling Fifth Column to decide. Has a nice ring to it, is flexible. Although more of a description of the religious right than anything.
DrGreenthumb
What did John Lennon stand for? read the friggin lyrics to Imagine for a clue. JOHN LENNON "Imagine" Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
Shakeyhands
He was smart enough to know it was McGuinty's call - all the way. Bollocks. William Ashley
I don't see how this is in any way signifigant to federal politics on a public basis other than very weak PR casting. The guy has played the beatles. Down talking isn't required on my part but this is a waste of data to talk about. Its all fun in games when the guy is spending tax dollars on partying. Ok now to say he isn't spending tax dollars, well what about his RCMP escort or otherwise.. it is a waste of money.. what no fun and games??? The Queen whom many here don't seem to interested in even cancled the annual christmas party.. the government is running a multi billion dollar deficit and instead of paying it down with public donations to pay down the debt the conservatives are partying hardy. Well I guess that is a very rock and roll mentality but it is a waste of time to talk on this line and bring down a fiscally responsible group of people. It is so unfortunate these people are more interested in fecally dispatching their responsibilities and the future of Canadians on tax payer dime.. tax payer flights, and tax payer security... get them to pay for their own security and transport for private business, and even though the other parties are adversely effected stop the vote subsidy already.. stop partisan embezzlement already. Although the real situation here has next to nothing to do with real issues that matter.. PR isn't a maker and breaker of the future, it is a weak form of fooling those with lesser intelligence on things... If none of the issues mattered then it would be that simple.. unfortunately 1 in 4 or 1 in 8 Canadians according to polls don't think issues are important. That is their choice but I can whine about it because it is ruining my future for their benefits and only makes me want to put them on social ignore even more. That is partisanism, and that digusts me... the way of the world but it is a load of bs that people sit here and talk about rocker harper when people are dying and the world is being raped.. but that is harper for you. kimmy
Harper rocks! This sort of thing could compromise Harper's carefully-crafted "dweeb" image if he does it too often. I have some political differences with Harper but as a human being I can relate to him a lot better than Ignatieff or God forbid, Jack Layton. I can picture Jack taking a year or two to nail the main riff from "Smoke on the Water"... Jack Layton strikes me as more a kazoo or slide-whistle type. btw, I've had my guitar for 2 months, and I'm happy to report that I've learned the main riff from "Smoke on the Water". Sounds as though he did a decent job learning the songs and performing! I wonder how much prep time he took though, do you think maybe he can get back to being an actual PM and dealing with the plethora of issues we have? Or alternatively, start his entertainment career now and let someone else do the job of governing? Even Prime Ministers have hobbies. Harper plays piano. Others have talked to spirits, throttled homeless guys, banged groupies, get drunk, hit people with Inuit art... it's good to have hobbies. Paul Martin had no hobbies, and look how he turned out. -k
