Anyways, I'm glad you admit to clean coal technology.
But I'll ask again, do you support clean coal technology? Or just when China's involved?
Does that mean you're a supporter of clean coal? Or just for China?
Waldo. Are you a supporter of clean coal?
Are you a supporter of clean coal?
Are you a supporter of clean coal?

pardon? Professor... I'm not clear on what you're asking?

I suspect you're a bit obsessed.

Shady, I don't know if you've noticed or not, but waldo has a hard time answering the simplest of questions. I've asked him numerous times what he is doing on a personal level to save the planet. He can't answer that. I guess I stumped him. He can't answer your simple question because he has yet to find the answer in the internet. He is becoming the "convenient avoider".

lukin, no need to qualify your stalking... I trust TimG has also taken note of your practice and from the heart commentary; ... it was, after all, he & I that were having a somewhat localized posting tete-a-tete during your target fixation.

it's somewhat disappointing you would criticize a MLW member over a simple, informative and relatively benign observation... your clairvoyant prowess is also recognized in being able to determine the member's unspecified source reference.

LOL, I love watching alarmists squirm. Especially when they're boxed in, and not knowing what to do, and how to respond. It's classic!

Come'on Einstein, answer the question. Do you support clean coal?

yes, clearly you are dazzled by my mere presence - I've asked you a couple of questions... your choice to respond, or not.

Do you support clean coal? It's a yes or no answer.

I have a feeling wyly and waldo are the same person, ;) if not joined at the hip.

How is his (your) observation informative if it doesn't have a source? How does someone only read part of an article from an unknown source, then come on here claiming China is thinking about doing this or that? Did he(you) read this in a scientific journal? We'll see what China commits to doing. His(your) post was useless.

I'm definitely interested in hearing about what China is willing to do.

Waldo(wyly), why don't you move to the socialist paradise, China?

Have another stimulating night of sitting in front of your monitor wyly(waldo). It must be a real hoot. ;)

I think you're absolutely right about Waldo and Wyly being the same person. It's pretty sad that Waldo needs an imaginary poster to pseudo-agree with him.

my source-I only two read two papers the G & M and Calgary Herald and I'll only read the Herald if it's free (it's a crap rag) but it's the Herald where I read the article I mentioned today...

There is nothing new on the table:

Without binding targets on China and India with an effective enforcment mechanism there can be no deal.

China’s offer to make its existing, domestic pledge to slow growth in carbon emissions binding under a U.N. resolution is a compromise it hopes will encourage developed countries to continue the existing Kyoto Protocol.

We can create a resolution and that resolution can be binding on China,” said Huang Huikang, the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s envoy for climate change talks.

“Under the (U.N. Climate) Convention, we can even have a legally binding decision. We can discuss the specific form. We can make our efforts a part of international efforts.”

Chinese negotiators are also saying they’re willing to agree to outside verification, which had been a sticking point at Copenhagen.

An interesting development. Of course, promises to only "slow" emission growth are still unacceptable because they would give China too much of a competitive advantage.

Frankly, I suspect this is nothing but a ploy by the Chinese since they know that the current political environment in the US makes any treaty a non-starter. In the unlikely event that their bluff is called they will change their tune pretty fast.

Edit: The US has weighed in:

Mr. Stern reacted coolly to a report that China is willing to include its voluntary emissions targets in a treaty and pass legislation to make them binding.

“That doesn’t seem to be anything new to me,” he said. “I would love it to be a game changer, but it looks to me like business as usual.”

Looks like my original assessment was correct.
