It only seems to be money directed towards Israel. The lone progressive and democratic country in the Middle East. I think it's because Israel gets more than just money from the US. Do you think the Jews would have accepted another piece of land somewhere else in the world if it was offered at that time? Would it have been rejected because it was not the ancient homeland of the Jews? Is the ancient tie the only real reason they have for creating Israel where it is today? M. Regardless of my, what I think are legitimate reasons, for not recognizing them. You may not agree that Israel should exist as a state, which is fine, but by the definition of the term "state", Israel meets every criteria and it is without a doubt a "state". Here's a decent definition of a "state" in an international political sense: "The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; ( a defined territory; © government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states." Most definitions of a "state" also often include that a state must posses a monopoly over the legitimate use of force (violence), and that the state is a sovereign entity where its sovereignty is recognized in the international system. What I find odd is that many have no problems with Israel taking land during the 6-day war and calling it spoils of war, when the Jews lost the land in ancient times, and others gained the spoils of war. I find that hypocritical in some fashion. Are the ancient ties the ONLY reason why Israel exists where it is today? And if another piece of land was offered to them, would they have taken it?
