You know these liberal dumb asses are starting to piss me off, they all gotta have their -- between every sentence instead of a period, they preach the end of the world better then a jehova witness, i half expect a liberal to show up at my door and offer to give me a bible, red book, to save my soul from the upcoming conservative hell. susbstance in their post is void, thought in their posts is void, and truth in their posts is void, honestly if you don't want me to vote conservative I will vote NDP just to shut you up, but please shut up with this liberal B.S, John the only thing i feal sorry about is continuing to show up to this site when people like you and joseph sprout liberal television adds instead of political disscussion.

Its too bad, eh.

The hysterical rantings of some individuals has definitely brought down the quality of discourse on this site lately.

I really don't have the time to wade through so many ridiculous comments let alone author a response.

Neither do I have time to wade throught it. So I don't.

There is the freedom to speak, and there is also the freedom to ignore.

It has been suggested that we each have the power to remove (block) certain posters, if we choose, from the threads we see. I would be in favour of this.

August...

...as far as I can tell, there is no ignore feature on these boards.

As I said, I don't have time to read through alot of this nonsense nor do I wish too. If political discussion is going to deterioate as it appears to be, I will simply choose not to visit. Others seeking serious discussion may elect to do so as well.

As for freedom of expression, this is a private message board. I'm assuming the administration can decide who and who cannot participate in these discussions.

Heck, look at the nonsense you spout in the present.

If you see any problems in the forums, please report them to me. The only way we can make this forum work is if everyone participates in the overall monitoring. So lets not write off the forum just because some isolated incidents have disrupted the discussion in a few areas.

Remember, the report this post feature is always one click away.

Cheers,

I think that everybody wishes these left wingers would go back to rabble.ca. I mean really I have been able to have a good discussion with pellaken in the past, but now with the likes of all these left wingers they think their the centre of the universe.

Wrong. I don't, nor do I assume anyone else wishes the left wingers would go back to rabble.ca. Lets cut that type of talk out.

Saying stupid things are a fact of life with politicians. Every single politician has his or her foot half way down their throat all the time. Yes, I´m sure Conservatives have said some stupid things in their time, but so have Liberals. I´m sure Liberal MP Carolyn Parrish has stuck her foot in her mouth after this comment:

“Damn Americans, I hate those bastards,” she said while surrounded by reporters after a caucus meeting. (The Globe and Mail, June 9)

Lets not let our party affiliation become our gang colors. So what if I´m Conservative and you´re Liberal? We have no right to start a yelling match with someone just because they´re from a different party. We´re all Canadian afterall. Let´s be respectful and try to keep this forum clean of immature mud slinging.

Uhn, the thing is that without the opposition there really isn't anyone to argue - uh, debate with.

Mind you, I can do without certain uh, people who have recently shown up. You can't argue - uh, debate people who are only going to scream and rant ridiculously "The evil Conservatives are going to destroy the world! They eat babies for breakfast! They're going to destroy us all! Aahhh! Aahhh!"

Uhm, didn't Martin pretty much say that Conservatives were "un Canadian"?

Hey...

...I don't think you can fault Martin for thinking the Conservatives are Un-Canadian...

This is they same guy that thinks the D-Day landings occurred in Norway and that hundreds of millions of people inhabit Canada.

The old guy is probably just a little confused because his ships fly these:

Are you opposed to a society where people are allowed to be free with their opinions (provided their opinions do not infringe upon similar freedoms of others)?

In Alliance Fanatic's defense, I don't think he meant all "left-wingers"...

...only those that have come here as of late to spam the boards with their baseless accusations and innuendo.

As a conservative, I come here because of left-oriented individuals. I enjoy reading views from all sides of the spectrum. This board offers opinions from across the political spectrum. There aren't too many boards that can claim this.

What I don't appreciate is the adolscent name calling and I'm concerned that this message board will deteriorate as a result.

I am new to these discussion forums and I find them rather interesting. I am trying to learn the ins and outs but reading both sides of the spectrum gives me clues as to how rhings work. I have always enjoyed a good discussion as long as it does not lead to baby face name calling. To those that take a discussion seriously and are willing to look at all sides of an argument...........cheers to ya.

The more you post on these types of boards, the more you learn to respect other points of view. And I think this was what the founding fathers of modern democracy (Americans) intended when they set off on their bold experiment.

As long as people post with the best intentions, their opinions are welcome with me.

As a Canadian; I come on these boards to remind other that despite his recent denials; Harper would have had us at the side of Bush and company invading Iraq. Like Mulroney, he will sell out Canada independence to USA interests. I do not want Canada to become America's little puppy dog. The USA has done much under Bush to cause dissension around the world and particularly the middle east.

I don't particularly like any party leader; I think we do have poor pickings. At this time; my choice would be a coalition government to avoid any wild changes in policy.

I do not want our Health Care system furthur destroyed by Harper's leanings towards privatation. I would like the health services that we DO pay for; to be forced to deliver services on a timely basis or be held accountable for paying the bills when we must seek health care elsewhere.

One of Harper's platform that I do agree with is no large taxpayer funded national daycare. I do not mind assisting single parents on a low income to pay for daycare to allow them time to get on their feet; but I do not think that we should be paying or subsidizing day care for two working parents. I would like to see more families encouraged and enabled to stay home and raise their own children in the pre school years.

My problem is'nt with the left wingers. Its because they seem to abuse these boards to much, and repeatedly make new topics for the heck of it just to bother those on the right. Try narrowing down everything to just one topic please.

Thats the whole point of discussion boards as far as I am concerned. As long as the discussions can be respectful to others opinions. I also do not agree with of issues listed here but that is how we can learn about new ideas.

Perhaps you don't realize that in most cases internationally (excluding trade) American interests and Canadian interests are virtually the same. Like them, we have an interest in a world which is ordered, in which people and goods can move freely without fear of crazed religious nuts blowing up airplanes, smashing them into buildings or loosing poison in water supplies or, God help us, getting their hands on nuclear or biological weapons.

I believe the invasion of Iraq was an attempt to begin reordering the middle east. And I think we, as well as the rest of the world, would be better off with something there besides the current miasma of terrorism, despair and tyranny. If they can somehow turn Iraq into a middling good example of a reasonably free land the place can serve as an example to the millions of Arabs who currently see no way out of their current mess but more and more fanatical adherance to Islam and the crazies who preach salvation through an Islamic state.
