Your own magic sky man religion has treated women like human feces for centuries... it adopted a more liberal stance on women only because it was forced to, and even then only in recent history.

So you really dont have much of a soap box to preach from here. Your insane delusions (christianity I assume) really arent that much better than anyone elses.

Here's some really good advice:

You might want to know what you're talking about before you get on your soap box and preach ..... B)

LOL. If it's not strawmen from you, it's the even more pathetic false choice. Well you can stick with al-Qaeda and the Taliban. I'll stick with human rights and freedoms.

Of course not. Because it's a Muslim church. Now if it was a Jewish/Christian/Catholic church, it'd be a different story!

If it was a Jewish or Catholic church there it would never have been in the media in the first place. No one would have even heard about it.

Not really... I dont descriminate between various different sets of fanatical and insane delusions. All the religions you mentioned nutty as far as Im concerned and all have the capacity to be dangerous. But I dont really mind if they build places to partake in their goofy rituals... the law affords them that right.

We all know the stuff about harsh muslim treatment toward their women, and we all want to se that changed. But people like Dog can't seem to differentiate between those types of muslims and the many other ordinary muslims who don't abuse their women.

You talk as if it's some small fraction. A large proportion of Mosques segregate people in this way.

Their customs are backwards to us, including the way they separate of women in the mosque, or wherever else. I said, we still have some of those elements too. There are people who send their kids to those schools, because that's what they believe is right. In places like Britain this separation is even more obvious. It is still quite apparent in some christian groups, and in the bible. Eve is blamed. The example I gave is just one simple example. Ask a catholic nun more about it. Ask the ones who want to be able to give sermons in their own churches.

This is the standard "but Christians shoot abortion doctors" response. There is no equivalence, no matter how much you may want it to be so. Yes, the West still isn't perfect in these regards, we may have some further room for improvement. That does not mean we cannot point out the flaws in cultures that are much more backward.

That doesn't mean I am excusing the behaviour. Just illustrting it, to try and help the fearful see that they are not as different from us as we might think. The radicals certainly are though. Pat Robertson, sure has a lot to say.

Yes. We're all the same, all equal. Let's just join hands and sing happy songs and the world will be a better place!

What's interesting is how quickly you, American Woman are to bring up the defects of Islam, which I do not deny but do you see that we have some of those same defects as well? And more importantly, is any of that good reason not to build the mosque in NYC.

The defects of Islam as a religion are not the main reason that some people may not think it's a good idea to build the mosque in question. The reason they don't want that mosque there has been explained at length.

What percentage of Muslims in Canada or the US would you deem as being radical?

In 1971 there were only 33,000 Muslims in Canada in just over 40 years that number has gone up to over 20 times that.

There were 1.5 Million Muslims in the US in 2000 that number has at least doubled by now.

There were 783,700 in Canada for the 2006 census, that number is at least 1 million now.

Even if only 1% of Muslims were radical That would leave 30,000 radical Muslims in the US and 10,000 in Canada.

This isn't a problem to you?

Hell's Angels probably have more than 30,000 members. But we think radical islam is more of a problem? Perspective people.

Your approval of Islamic sanctioned misogyny is charming.

Ridiculous. Those videos are based on a particular interpretation of Islam, just as some 'Christians' believe it's OK to murder abortion doctors in the name of God, with others defending them and praising them for it.

With friends like Zionists, what Jew needs enemies?

With friends like Islamists, what Muslim needs enemies?

Those videos are from several different countries.

Remind me again how many legions of doctors have perished in this wave of terror you refer to.

I am pragmatic and do not reject the bible - in full..God does not deal in smoke and mirrors.I am NOT a secularist...Apparently you accept the Roman (state version) of the bible? Christianity never really reached the world in full..So like others you are calling me a nominal Christian...looks like you never gave Jesus Christ a lot of thought in all your time on earth.

Oh please. You say you're not a secularist, yet will pick and choose from the Bible. Sounds pretty secularist to me. I do not follow all the social teachings of the Gospel, but then again I don't profess the Christian Faith either. You can't have it both way; either you profess the Christian Faith and strive to put all its teachings into practice or you're not a real Christian. At least I don't pretend to be a Christian.

YOU accuse me of anti-CHRISTIANISM? Next you will be calling me not just a "troll" - but the f**king anti-Christ - what's next - being burned at the pillar? Christianity is not about sucking up to the state ---it is about personal sovereignty and diginity - and the sanctity of the individual - Muslims are an insect collective --where as Jesus said_ "I have not come to save the whole flock but to save the one sheep that has fallen into the pit" - to para phrase - in other words to save the singular person...that one person is worth a million..

This is why I believe you're a troll. I can't imagine any kind of Christian saying the stuff you say. You say it's because of secularization that Islam is gaining ground, yet you yourself are quite secularist by definition based on what you say, not on what you claim you are. It would seem more that you're just using the Christian Faith as a convenient excuse to hate Muslims. And in fact many of your claims are so nonsensical they lead me to believe that if anything you're probably an anti-Christian troll trying to make Christians look bad.

THIS is the basis of Christian doctrine. YOU are ready to persecute the singular thinking man in hope of securing the happiness of the collective mass..even if that mass is decayed.

You have no clue what you're talking about here. The Christian Faith and Islam both acknowledge that individual and the community as both equally important.

A Christian is a brave man..or woman...they only submit to the state as a ruse _ "go to the sea and catch a fish - you will find two coins...give one to the tax collector on your behalf and mine _ for we do not want to cause them offence" - in other words to keep the jerks of our back....Once Christian churches became tax free entities - then they became the state!

I have no clue what you're talking about here.

With friends like Zionists, what Jew needs enemies?

Uhhhh...no they don't. Plus, you were the one to claim that...not 'we'.

It's the collective 'we'. Personally I don't think radical Islam needs the attention it's getting. I mean since there are a prospective 30,000 islamic extremists in Canada, and well only a few thousand Hells Angels, it's easy to see the where focus needs to be kept. Because one of these groups has caused issues long before radical islam, and will continue to be a huge issue long after radical islam is taken care of.

We are putting to much focus on something that rarely happens, like a terrorist attack in N.A.
