What If The Tea Party Acted This Way?

Recommended Posts

Considering the time the statue was created and the immigration "laws" of that period it may be time to give the french their statue back, or at least the plaque, if you going to ignore what it means.

Fine by me..there is more than enough legal immigration to fill the void.

The immigration laws of TODAY are far more relevant.

...and you left out the other half of the story..all those rejected because of infirmities, disease, criminal records, and political orientation.

What? You think all people profiled "look Mexican"?????

That's just ignorant.

Hate to say it but when the only people getting busted are Americans with accents, and who have a darker skin, you got some racial profiling on your hands. AZ will have this law struct down it is just a matter of time now.

Pretty much. Welcome to a terrible bill, with terrible enforcement.

LOL! Terrible things happen to criminals...or just stupid people:

Canadian deported from US?

I am a Canadian citizen who married an American in 1990. In 1992 I applied for and got my 'alien' card however it was never used. I had no idea I was to return it. This week I tried to cross the border and was denied access saying I had been deported. I've never lived or worked in the US, so I don't understand. Does anyone know what I have to do to get this set aside? I am so upset that this has happened. My husbands kids and grandkids are in the US. I hate to think that I'll never be able to go to see them.

Additional Details

OK, I'm adding some details.

Apparently because I didn't return my green card they finally started deportation proceedings which went through in 2007. I've been back and forth across the border at least twice a year and often more time since 2004 and before 2004 at least once a year.

So since I didn't show up for my deportation hearing which I wasn't advised about and had no clue that it was happening, the deportation went through. Apparently they just flagged it and when the border guard swiped my passport thru her little machine, my name came up so I had to go inside to Immigration at which time he told me I could not enter the US. Apparently if I go back to the border they will put me in jail. I'm a 61 year old grandmother with no arrests or convictions in either the US or Canada. Go figure.

Let me know if this is enough information.

Since we are fulltimer RVers this caused us a lot of problems. We had to find a place to store the RV, winterize it and find a place to live.

By the way, I don't appreciate comments that tell me to stay in my own country. My husband is after all, an American citizen although he is a permanent resident in Canada.

I'm looking for answers to my question, not abuse!

I was never served with anything. I've lived in Canada all my life. That's what makes this so strange. How can I be deported when I knew nothing of the deportation hearing?

Nope...."white America" is still busting President Obama's balls about legal citizenship. LOL! ;)

Pretty sure white America is still ridding the Silent majority from Nixon. However once you start asking them for their papers, and if they carry their birth certificate things will have then just gotten real. Wont happen though.

Again, you haven't read the law. You are quite mistaken. Stop thinking in terms of your own circumstances.

I notice a bit of a pattern when it comes to violence and protests. Punked and his ilk in this forum continue to defend violent behavior. Whether it's from the Muslim community, or in this case the Hispanic community.

However, when it comes to right-leaning protests. Peaceful protests. Like the Tea Party. That's where his understanding and defending of actions ends. It's pretty bizarre.

Over the years I have known about a dozen or so fellows who have lived and wrked illegally in the USA, mmy brother on law included...He owned and ran a painting company in St Petersburg. He had american employees....He did this for about 3 years until returning to the US, customs grew suspicious over his US bankbooks and other items that made him look like he was staying...It took him a few years before he fell off the Customs officers radar...he sold his business...

Another fellow I know ran a roofing company with his brother in Hollywood Florida. All of his staff were from Montreal, some couldn't even speak english....he is now legal.

And one other cat I knew was just bumming around, suntanning and such and got a job as a waiter in Ft Lauderdale. He got the job cause he could speak french. Occasionally the Immigration people would come by to check the papers of the kitchen and wait staff. When they did, the illegals (mostly from Quebec) would just sit with a table of patrons.

For the young canadian, being an illegal is a no risk crime. The pay is great, taxes are none and life in Southern Florida is a gas. Those damned cubans and mexicans are ruining for us...

Alas, your brother-in-law is smarter than mine from Montreal, who did much the same in Minnesota instead of Florida, and he doesn't even like hockey!

Remember when it was abhorrent to refer to your political opponents as Nazis? Well, I guess the left has either forgotten about that, or changed their minds. Or, they're massive hypocrites.

For those of you keeping score at home. Bush is Hitler, or Bushitler signs, no problem. Similar signs featuring Obama, not acceptable. Calling Democrats in Washington socialist, unacceptable. Calling Republicans in Arizona fascist, no problem.

They aren't Nazi's I don't see anyone saying that. However they are destroying real freedoms one at a time.

And the thing is, the left either can't even see the hypocrisy or more dangerously, they don't care anymore. That's what 8 years of not dealing with Bush derangement gets you. Seriously, things in the states could really devolve into a banana republic.
