Mao or Stalin ? Hitler was a distant third. Wonder why people from China sacrafice life and limb on a leaky boat to escape from Red China`s paradise for the evil west? How come people from the west are not smuggeling them selves into Red China ? Depends on what you define as evil. Is it purely defined on numbers or does one also count the vile nature of the intentions behind it? Stalin and Mao were horrible no doubt, but I'd put Hitler on the top in terms of the greatest. Numerically, Stalin killed more as did Mao, but both were in power for quite a bit longer than Hitler. Furthermore, the vast majority of the 12 million killed by Hitler in the holocaust was done through late 1941-1945; only 4 years of a 12 year rule whereas Stalin and Mao had roughly 30 each (Stalin closer to 25). Mao and Stalin were generally driven by paranoia. They purged their societies based on percieved threats to their own rule; like any other dictatorship. Stalin and Mao were far more thorough. Hitler was going to kill every last non-aryan in Europe purely based out of race hatred. My opinion is just that, an opinon, but I view that as worse. Edited April 3, 2010 by nicky10013 Quote

Stannard believes that the natives of the Americas were deliberately and systematically exterminated over the course of several centuries, and that the process continues to the present day. Stannard estimates that almost 100 million American indigenous people have been killed what he calls the American Holocaust.
