Guest TrueMetis Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 But the entire speech includes the general concepts, not to mention the entire speech. You really don't see the difference? Wow. I don't see the point of trying to explain the obvious. Quote

Not that I care who needs more help, but if two people are getting help making a speech the one who has the entire thing written out for him is obviously getting more help then the one who has three or four words on her hand. Palin was not giving a speech. It was for a Q & A. Quote
jefferiah Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Palin was not giving a speech. It was for a Q & A. Even so. I would say by proportion that is still less help. Quote "Governing a great nation is like cooking a small fish - too much handling will spoil it." Lao Tzu
Guest TrueMetis Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) Even so. I would say by proportion that is still less help. Obama had no cheat sheet or teleprompter at his Q & A's. If you feel like comparing apples to apples instead of apples and oranges. A Q & A is not that same as a speech. Edited February 14, 2010 by TrueMetis Quote

And there is no cheat sheet, she was not taking an exam. And I don't think those were answers to questions at the Q % A. Guest TrueMetis Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) If you assert that it is apple and oranges you can no longer say it is more pathetic. Alright, then it is pathetic that she needed to write general concepts on her hand for a Q & A. I think this is the first time I contradicted myself. This is why I don't speak in these kind of threads. Think I'll just leave this one to the rest of you. Edited February 14, 2010 by TrueMetis Quote
jefferiah Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Alright, then it is pathetic that she needed to write general concepts on her hand for a Q & A. I would disagree. She is just outlining which topics she wants to cover. How is that so pathetic? I understand completely what you are saying, but I think there is something dishonest in your argument, though I am not well able to articulate it. Guest American Woman Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 If I don't ask for directions I'm a typical man. Whoop dee doodle. ?? A few notes on hand is no comparison to a teleprompter. Anyone who finds it hilarious is trying to find it hilarious. What I find hilarious, and I can't believe there are still some of you who don't seem to get it, is that she was just criticizing Obama for using a teleprompter, and then she shows up with notes written on her hand (which is not "just being a typical female" in spite of your efforts to make it such; there is no stereotype about women writing notes on their hand like there is about men asking for directions. ) So again. Palin criticizes Obama for using a teleprompter, and then she shows up with notes written on her hand; notes about simple concepts. Anyone who doesn't see the humor in that is trying to not find humor in it. Quote

Palin criticizes Obama for using a teleprompter, and then she shows up with notes written on her hand; notes about simple concepts. ....just as candidate Dianne Feinstein did in 1990 against Pete Wilson: The year was 1990, October 1990 in fact. The scene? Why, the debate for the gubernatorial race between her and Pete Wilson, who would end up trouncing Feinstein and become California's govenor from 1991 until 1999. The scandal that occurred? Feinstein scrawling the three words "growth," "education," and "choice" on her delicate, little hand in noticeably glaring, blue marker to remind her of the policy themes she desired to use against Wilson in that debate. Guest American Woman Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 ....right next to her "notes about simple concepts". So in other words, just in your dishonest little mind. Got'cha. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 So in other words, just in your dishonest little mind. Got'cha. ...your words...not mine. A teleprompter doesn't make concepts more complex, but it does make things a lot easier than hand notes. LOL! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

So you're now admitting that Feinstein wasn't just criticizing Wilson for using a teleprompter. Better late than never, as they say. Guess it was just too difficult for you to come out and admit it, eh? But I did enjoy your song and dance; it's oh-so-amusing. Quote

I'm not admitting anything....but you are extending your own conclusions as usual in the absence of a rejoinder. Gov. Palin is free to criticize President Obama on the use of a teleprompter whenever she pleases....you must accept this and move on. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Shady Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 So again. Palin criticizes Obama for using a teleprompter, and then she shows up with notes written on her hand; notes about simple concepts. It was three words. A campaign slogan, as Time Magazine put it. Very clever. Anyone who doesn't see the humor in that is trying to not find humor in it. Kind of like somebody trying not to find any humor in say...oh I don't know, a video of Conan O'Brien, William Shatner, and Sarah Palin! Quote
