coalition tape can be heard here

few other comments I really like

-Its nice to hear that the talks for the creation of a coalition government on behalf of real Canadians is being handled in a temperate and intelligent manner. It reassures me that this isn't just a frantic, knee-jerk movement but a stable assemblage of like-minded individuals working for the greater good. As for the taping and releasing of this private meeting tape, it shows further how low, crass and despicable Machiavelli Harper, I mean Stephen Harper is. What a disgraceful PM we have.

-While Conservative government eavesdropping on oppositions MPs , then who can guarantee they are not listening to those activists and others who are against Conservative policy .

Isn't it exciting! Sigh......

Um, dramatic and exciting aren't necessarily synonymous, but I guess it's somewhat exciting too, depends on whom you ask. Probably not too exciting for CPC supporters.

Either way, secret tapes, coalition governments... this is not the Ottawa I'm used to.

We should be concerned about a group that is stupid enough to invite their opponent to a confidential meeting and then complain about him attending.

These tapes have served to destroy any legitimacy this 'coalition' might have had so requires a new election, one which will allow electors to choose between the Conservatives and the Union of Socialist and Separatist Republic.

It's exciting for me! I think Harper and the party are making a mistake by backing down on the economic update.

I think they should stand up to the opposition and ask them to form the government if they can't support this economic update. Be prepared to be relegated to the opposition for a maximum of two months and watch the Liberals, NDP and Bloc destroy themselves. Heck, the Liberals can't even get along, let alone adding the socialists and the seperatists! This would forever relegate the Liberals to needing a coalition to govern and the CPC can advertise outside of PQ as a vote for the Libs or NDP is in essence, a vote for the Bloc.

In PQ, they can advertise a vote for the BQ is a vote for the liberals.

Too tasty to pass up in my opinion.

NDP is considering legal action, but the Conservatives say they were invited to the meeting.

well then, ok. we should also believe all the convicts who said they didn't do it either. even if they were invited, that doesn't mean that the NDP agreed to let it be recorded.

Tory lawyers are going to be awfully busy between Cadman, the in & out and now this

Yes, it does in legal terms.

If you are party to a conversation, even passively, you may record it and publish that recording. If you are invited to listen, what the NDP agrees to means nothing after that.

These legal terms?

Canadian law requires that at least one party in the phone call be aware of the recording. [1][2] [3] However, the Communications Security Establishment can be allowed to wiretap any conversation approved by the Defence Minister.[4]
