Canadian involvement was for not other reason than to "bloody" our troops..give them a taste for the hunt..It is and will always be adventurism....It's like some kids with a new toy who are dying to try it. Russia toyed about in Afghanistan and all that was accomplished in the end was the creation of thousands of mother who now hold all authority in utter contempt for stealing the lives of their sons...what do we have to do ....wait till the body count is horrendous? Most of our men there are ambushed like fish in a barrel - this is not some brave and elegant war or old....No ancient general would waste even one man foolishly for a futile cause...but our modern leaders seem to feel relevant knowing they send people off to die...Just like the Americans - it does not matter who dies as long as it's someone - so damned occulted and crazed...war is for the bored and powerful..not for us...unless there is an attack or threat of attack you just don't go -------------why would you?
