Is Barack Obama Canadian?

Obama seems to be the kind of guy who wants to make everyone get along. He wants to unite people.

Canada has a history of getting along and uniting diverse groups.

So, is Obama "Canadian"?

Canada is a country of "separate but equal". At least since the British parliaments's Quebec Act of 1775, and certainly since the BNA Act of 1867, Canada is a country that explicitly recognizes minorities. Our constitution names religions and languages. Our current Charter of Rights (dated 1982) uses the term "where numbers warrant".

Separate but equal? Children in Quebec and Alberta do not receive the same education as children in Ontario. The Supreme Court of Canada has not ordered bussing to integrate Canada's schools. In fact, Canadians, both English and French, prefer separate school systems. In Ontario, there is even an explicitly State-financed school system based on religion.

We Canadians have achieved a civilized society differently from Americans. Our society is based on a recognition/respect of our differences. For lack of a better term, we call it multiculturalism. We use apartheid to get along. We call it federalism.

I understand Obama has either a half sister or step sister that is Canadian and I think that is as close as he can get for being Canadian. I really hope he is the good guy he wants us to believe he is.

A person may occupy the most powerful office on earth and if that person is wise he has no alternative but to be a good guy - things never end well when sinister people take over...some like to think that Hitler was a genius...name one historical figure that had success that was sinister. All sinisterism collapses in time. The men and woman though out history that had success and are remembered as good - still have influence long after they are gone - because good will always out power evil - evil and stupidy are brother and sister...evil does not have a chance of sustaining itself indefinitely...Goodness is life - perfect example and proof of this statement, is the great fact that after all of these years being armed with nukes - we are still here...good prevails - and Obama wants to prevail. The man is not stupid.
