bush_cheney2004 Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I was wondering why almost 3,000 were murdered...... Maybe next time it will be Maher Arar hijacking a Space Shuttle and crashing into Epcot Center at Disney World...that would show those damn 'merkins for sure! He has a good reason, right? Jihad! Jihad! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
sharkman Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I sure as hell won't be surprised when the next 9/11 happens. American arrogance demonstrated by BC and the like are one of the reasons why this 9/11 happened. Yes, the mass murder of 3000 Americans was justified the first time and the next mass murder will be justified as well with that awful American Arrogance. With that kind of logic, the arrogance of Muslims killing around the world because of the Muslim cartoons should be met with more jetliner activity, maybe into mosques or something. Also, save some jets for Israeli arrogance regarding their own borders, Chinese arrogance affecting oil, copper, etc, and Iran for just being generally uppity. Quote
GostHacked Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Arrogant?....absolutely! Hell, the nation was founded by booting your throne in the ass.You say it like it's a bad thing. Don't ever recall the US and Canada going to war with each other. And don't forget who burned down your White House .... twice. Quote

I love it when Canuck peaceniks roll over and invoke the glory of war from the past as a retort to American independence from arrogant kings and queens. "Canada" didn't burn down anything. Alanis would say...isn't it ironic. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Ironic indeed that you did not pick up on this. Quote

bush_cheney2004 Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Define kicking the throne? Take your pick...from Patrick Henry's "Give me liberty or give me death" all the way to Lord Cornwallis' surrender at Yorktown to the massed French and Americans (he was so embarrassed that General O'Hara completed the ceremony), to wit: ...But it was in the field, when they came to the last act of the drama, that the spirit and pride of the British soldier was put to the severest test: here their mortification could not be concealed. Some of the platoon officers appeared to be exceedingly chagrined when giving the word "ground arms," and I am a witness that they performed this duty in a very unofficer-like manner; and that many of the soldiers manifested a sullen temper, throwing their arms on the pile with violence, as if determined to render them useless. This irregularity, however, was checked by the authority of General Lincoln. After having grounded their arms and divested themselves of their accoutrements, the captive troops were conducted back to Yorktown and guarded by our troops till they could be removed to the place of their destination." http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/yorktown.htm You see, we have always been American mongrel bastards....not just since 2001! All before Canada was a country, so you were in fact fighting the British and not Canadians. And I hoped you gave the French that helped you some freedom fries. Funny how you kicked the throne only after an invasion. Just like Jihadists attacked your throne, so you invaded Iraq. Which does not make sense either. But that is the american way I guess. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 (edited) All before Canada was a country, so you were in fact fighting the British and not Canadians. Correct...we were fighting the "throne".....Canada didn't burn down anything, but the British sure did. And I hoped you gave the French that helped you some freedom fries. Yes.....we did.....twice....supersized. Funny how you kicked the throne only after an invasion. Just like Jihadists attacked your throne, so you invaded Iraq. Which does not make sense either. But that is the american way I guess. Americans don't have a throne, crown, sovereign, whatever. Here's the cool part....Iraq use to be part of the British Empire....remember? Oh, and just so there is no ambiguity (i.e. Nixon and "perfectly clear"): The United States of America invaded Iraq in March 2003....because we wanted to and had the means to do so. It is what it is. M.Dancer Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 ....Iraq use to be part of the British Empire....remember? Nope. Never. Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
DogOnPorch Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Nope. Never. There was a five year period from 1920-25 where Great Britain (and France) transitioned parts of the Ottoman Empire into various nation states. Iraq was one of those nations. However, to say that it was part of the Empire would be incorrect. No British/French colonization, for example. Perhaps this is what Ghosthacked is refering too. Some may claim that GB was doing wrong...but that's neither here nor there...The Ottoman Turks were playing for the other team (Central Powers). If Germany and friends had won The Great War, they would be giving the terms. ----------------------------- Rebellions can be made by 2 percent actively in the striking force and 98 percent passively sympathetic.” ---T.E.
