jbg Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 (edited) Stupid & unneccesary. Why do those on the right feel the need to be so inflammatory?I am not on the right. But in Britain, they are changing "Three Little Piggies" to "Three Little Puppies" to avoid "offending" the Muslims. Bear in mind that Jews and Muslims have identical dietary rules relating to pigs. The only reason I can think of that Jews were not spared "offense" was that the Jews have better things to do during their days than create death on a mass scale. A group should not be able to get ahead merely by virtue of being dangerous. And yes, that distinction "inflames" some people, right wingers and left-wingers like myself. August1991 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 (edited) This is like Geert Wilders' planned short documentary: Last week, Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun said that if the Freedom Party leader tears up or burns a Koran in his film, “this will simply mean he is inciting wars and bloodshed. And he will be responsible. It is the responsibility of the Dutch people to stop Wilders.”Writing Wednesday in De Volkskrant, Wilders complains that the “panic” over the film, which reached new heights over the weekend, would not have happened if he had criticized the Bible. He concludes that this demonstrates the Dutch government’s obsession with Islamic sensibilities. “In this way the Koran film has already proved its usefulness.” He also claims that the government’s anti-terrorism chief warned him last week that he might have to leave the country if the film is shown. Wilders told De Volkskrant that he needs another two weeks to finish editing the film. Variety Islamic states' envoys to the Netherlands are planning to meet the country's officials to warn them against producing an anti-Islam film. The ambassadors from Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member states have held a meeting to discuss ways to prevent the production of a controversial film by a far-right Dutch lawmaker that would be insulting to Islam, informed sources told Press TV. Dutch MP Geert Wilders had earlier said that he planned to make the film to attack the Holy Qur'an. The sources said the diplomats proposed that they hold a meeting with the Dutch Foreign Minister and other senior officials to warn them against the move and set up mechanisms to prevent insulting religious beliefs. The controversial film is expected to spark worldwide protests similar to those staged after the publishing of a series of blasphemous cartoons by a Danish daily. Iranian TV---- Stupid & unneccesary. It appears to be shit disturbing for the sake of shit disturbing. I'm sure they know the extreme reaction this will provoke in certain segments of the Muslim population. As such it would appear that they want trouble. The reaction will be a foregone conclusion of course, outrage and quite possibly (even likely) violence. This is not to excuse the idiots who will react violently either. As far as I'm concerned they are both groups of idiots. It must be mentioned however that if these provocative idiots are to be viewed as inferior then the idiots who react violently should also be viewed in the same light. Quote I yam what I yam - Popeye

The reaction of outrage and quite possibly violence would be the same if Muslims did anything as provocative to christians. In fact, and point one could say that when certain movies and books come out (are produced) we have seen christians act with the same outrage and even resorting to violence. Think of the hulabaloo over Harry Potter, the Golden Compass , the DaVinci code, release of books which there was a news story in which Christians went into a book store in Britian and overturned the displays, I wanna say Richard Dawkins, but, I don't think that is correct. That is a western phenomena virtually christian against christian. Has there been any reaction yet to this? I don't know? It must be mentioned however that if these provocative idiots are to be viewed as inferior then the idiots who react violently should also be viewed in the same light. I would agree. But keep in mind who initiates this type of garbage, is the worse for doing it. That said... I would hope that common sense would rule and people will see this for what it is, trashy provacation , and not take the bait. Quote Insults are the ammunition of the unintelligent - do not use them. Or why bother doing such a provocative stunt? I will also take note that the publishing of Harry Potter/Richard Dawkins or the movie release of DaVinci code/ Golden Compass were not INTENDED to offend christians, as this stunt is INTENTIONALLY provocative, likely in hopes of a ratings boost or advertising rates increase, whatever. That said I will reiterate it is clear, there is no fear from a potential reaction, or this type of stunt would simply not be undertaken As I already said, hoping the bait will be recognized for what it is, and not taken. All of todays Muslims are infidels - all of todays Christians are infidels - as are the Jews and so forth - absolutely none practice the religions are meant to be practiced - Muslims insult God infering he is weak and needs help - that he is not the almighty - the Christians formally practice anti-Christism - because they do the opposite of what Christ commanded - and the pesky Jews are still trying to find an angle on how to trick and corner God into submission - yep! all are suffering from infidelity - hence all are infidels. Because the Christian religion uses the so called crucifiction to keep thier churches going there has always been a terrible anamonsity towards Jews.
