  1. The World Bank, and the IMF are the reasons why a nation would/could get into debt. A nation wants to become a player in some fashion, or wants some cake. Now the only way to get some cake is to get a government in place with a monetary system that has a central bank. Once a national centralized bank is set up, the World Bank and IMF can give them a loan. The central bank is in most cases are privatized. So the nation uses this new loan to make improvements to the counrty, giving people cake. But since they may really not grasp the idea of money and economics on the whole, this opens things up to potential abuse, and in the end ... no cake. For whatever reason this nation cannot pay off the loan or meet the terms of payment. The nation can default on the loan. What happens next? A total economic takeover of a nation because the nation was lent more money than it could pay back. Once you have the country economically, you have all the people and resources as well. So these investors at the World Bank and IMF are just as guilty or stupid as those finnanical institutions that lend more money to a couple buying a new house than what they can actually afford. In the long run, the banks can stand to make even more money on a downturned housing market. Owning the property is just smart as having the money, a real physical asset. People should pay for their foolishness. I learned my finnancial lessons the hard way. Now I am almost out of debt. But it will be some time before I can consider buying a house.
  2. So are companies like Exxon, Shell, BP, Esso, Texaco and the like.
  3. Not only that, you get locked into phone contracts that last longer than many marriages .... that is a problem. The customer .. not consumer .. stop thinking of yourself as a consumer and start thinking as a customer ... Companies do not want customers, they want consumers who will consume the product and say 'I hate it', but won't do anything about it. I work for Loblaws, we recently switched all our cell phones (company wide .. big company) from Bell to Rogers .....In my job at Loblaws.. I get alerts all the time through messeging on my cell phone about certain systems that are down. I can get 10 to 15 of these a day. Multiply that by ... I really have no clue, but there are 10 of us in our warehouse alone that have company cell phones. The money that will be saved on texting these alerts will be noticable. Over 500 people are using cell phones down at PC Circle. That racks up much. The customer is getting nickel and dimed to death today. Gas/fuel going up, causing everythuing else to go up. And we pay little 'fees' for anything extra we want right now. All microtransactions, and all of them add up to large cash. Also with people being so dependant on cell phones (I have been running with a cell phone exclusively for the past 4 years without a landline. But I am smart about it . My personal phone is a pay as I go ... when that happens, you really take a look at your phone usage and say .. where can I save money'. It is easier to call, leave a voice mail. Cheaper too. I know it's not always the case to check your voice messages, so there is really no time to check text messages if that was the case. Edit for this extra bit If you really want to axe the possible costs of incomming texts .. call your provider up and tell them to disable it and take if off your plan. If you tell them specifially that you do not want the text messaging option (disable it completely) then they cannot charge you for a service you no longer have bound to your account. Money talks, also the lack of money talks as well.
  4. Always pays off the read the title and posts a couple times ... I learned my lesson here on that looooooong time ago.
  5. Who is the rabid dog then??
  6. On the idiocy of what he just said ..... actually much has been in the news about Iran and the oil. Whenever you see Israel and Iran saber ratteling, you see the news talk about the increase and risk of oil going higher. The markets followed .. or have you not been paying attention? Let's just look at headlines. http://www.businessandmedia.org/printer/20...0606112914.aspx http://www.cbc.ca/money/story/2008/07/01/money-oil.html http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/080630/markets_oil.html http://www.jewishjournal.com/articles/item...renzy_20080707/ http://www.arabianbusiness.com/523818-iran...ce-of-the-chart http://jta.org/cgi-bin/iowa/news/article/2...nenpomfrey.html
  7. How else am I to paint it. The Kurds are getting bombed from Turkey, an ally supposedly. But as soon as 'AXIS OF EVIL IRAN' does something similar against the same people, that will be propagandized to make the Iranians look like the bad guy. And if we go on numbers, Turkey has done it many more times than Iran. Really, think about it.
  8. To protect itself from getting raped by the other powerful countries on the planet?
  9. Like anyone cars about the Kurds, Turkey has been making cross border raids for years, but no one says crap about it. Only since it is EVIL IRAN .... and because the US has this agenda for the middle east... anyone else could bomb the Kurds and no one will say boo about it. Not to mention even the US downplayed the latest rocket tests from Iran today. It was a left over rocket that failed the day before.
  10. What if they both never didn't work .... omg OMG. But blame Canada if you cannot make up your mind. It was a whole other bag of milk.
  11. Each family can do the same .... get rid of one car.
  12. They sure did ... and they are still sqeezing drops from that empty bag.
  13. OMG THE IRANIANS ARE COMMING TO TAKE OVER OUR LAND .... *yawn*
  14. Yeah, that made no sense at all. This is BC's blame game. When he cannot think of anything else , he goes on the Canuckian attack. Arar = Bin Laden?? Only in your most delusional LSD induced fantasies. You have way more bark than I do pall. The proof is all over MLW.
  15. Hell you guys have been whining about him for about 20 years now .. whats the deal?? All that McDonalds made you lethargic??
  16. Nah, don't bother me none, if everyone thinks I am a nutbar, then so be it. I welcome it actually. BC http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,230361,00.html 2002 Hmmm, according to these 'reputable' sources he has been in Pakistan since 2002. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/asiapcf/09/2...aden/index.html Oh there he is again in 2004.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6254375.stm Now Al Queda has been hiding ... hahah has been hiding ... get it??? Of course you do. The boogyman that will never be caught. But Pakistan is a great ally in the war on terror. But will not allow US forces to go into Pakistan. And the US seems to abide by it. YET at the same time, the US is conducting special operations in Iran at this very moment. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25438312/ Connect the dots. It's an easy game. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/01/28/...ain325887.shtml
  17. Documentaries like Loose Change focus on the staged events. The movie is actually pretty bad compared to some other 9/11 truth documentaries. A couple would indeed change your view of the events. But more or less it was allowed to happen. It was the catalyst needed to take the US to the next phase in their guidebook. And if you think Bush lied about this, and about that, I could go as far and say he lied about almost everything else in his so called career as a President. He said before 9/11, he did not think much about Bin Laden when the Clintons (failing to catch him in Tora Bora) told him that Bin Laden would be the next big threat. Today this scapeghost has not been captured, but yet almost every one of his 'officers' have been killed or captured.
  18. Well we can look at all the lies that got the US into the war on terror..... fool me twice.. shame on .. durrr.
  19. Yep, lol at troooothers ... lol at everything.
  20. We also see many of these heads of corporations become members of government. Cheney was the CEO of Haliburton, this was after he served on Regan's panel and before he became VP of the US. I am sure there are countless other scenarios just like this across government. So when you have this revolving door between the two, it is easily shown who controls who. There is a cohesion between big business and government.
  21. Sharia law has no place in the western world. Plain and simple. It will not be Muslims who will take away your way of life, it will be your spineless politicians/lawmakers/judges to bend at being 'PC' and allow Sharia to become law.
  22. Democracy only allows a new name to continue atrocities done in democracy's name, where as the dictatorships, still have the same criminal in place. We democraticly elect criminals while the others just let us know they are criminals without the front.
  23. Hisself, have you seen the movie?? It's very very good. Such a fantastic movie. I had only caught this movie a few months ago. But it was absolutely brilliant. It seems quite long for a movie, but wow, what a movie. Another line I love, and it is not from this movie is "If you are not mad, then you are not paying attention."
  24. Again, if religion is going to dictate how you live and dress, becomming a Mountie is not going to be a good choice for you. If you hold your religious beliefs above all else, even the sanctity of the RCMP hat (which as g bambino states it IS part of the uiniform.. by stupid looking Burger King hat was part of the uniform, and you got in shit if you did not wear it... ) People want to become part of something because they beleive in it. Weather it be a religion or some national institution. If you really really want to become an RCMP officer, you will do what it takes to become one without tarnishing your own image of what the RCMP is and should be. If you want to start changing things because you think you hold your religious beleifs above all, then you really should not be applying for any job that will not allow you to be who you are. When you become an RCMP officer, you have rules and restrictions to follow. j Dobbin brought up another point. The reason why they all wear the same uniform is for cohesion and unity among the troops. They all feel like they are part of the same team working towards the same goal. When people wear the same uniform they tend to act like the uniform and act as a team better. And this has a lot to do with dress code. When you throw a wrench into that harmonization you get a foot in the door for all other wrenches.
