If 100% of Alberta votes for Harper there's a problem, since we don't vote for the Prime Minister.

Oh, right. I'm whining. Pointing out that Clinton got nearly 3 million more votes than Trump is whining. No. It's an inconvenient truth. Talking about votes concentrated in one area or another is also a moot point, since the we're talking about a national election for one role that everyone votes for. Comparing it to our elections is also irrelevant because there is no corollary in Canadian politics.

Actually, the number of Electoral College votes is decided by how many seats are in congress. So if Canada did vote for a president a similar system would be used based on Ridings. And it's also silly to think that the leader of the party isn't most of the consideration when voting for an MP.
