You really think that is true, the liberals did a huge study on our military, gave it to Joe public, they asked how it should be funded, what equipment should they have, how much, how large should it be etc etc......you know all the questions joe Canadian would know or guess because everyone is a general don't you know.......and the answers that came back surprised the liberals, there was a lot of support for military spending and the military....hence why the liberals came out with their new way forward for DND.....so they are not bending to the will of the electorate....where are they going, and while there is support for all this spending , there is a lack of political will to get er done....not surprising there is not a whole lot of will to get anything done by the liberals, except POT now that got everyone attention....everyone is to high to care about anything else.... And i'd say todays purchases coming in around 60 bil for ships buys a lot of politicians.

Your 100% right Dougie….DND and RCMP, CSIS, swear allegiance to the Queen or whom ever is seating in that seat at the time...Thats Canadian law, done for several reasons, one is to prevent the PM in deploying those dept's in any illegal operations....She the Queen is represented by the Governor General as a figure head, and a safety factor to reign in our nations military authority from being abused....That being said through out our history when has a GG over ridden the any elected PM....None, RCMP and Military forces were used to put down the North west rebellion, also the conscription riots during WWI, FLQ crises in Quebec, OKA crises, always those damn French men....Canada does not have a long history of using it's military on it's own citizens....and through out our history the PM has always called the shots, not one GG has said no...it's one of those laws that are on the books but have not been put to the test....The PM decides what the budget is, and how it is spent....not the GG, which is a figure head, and the oath, a notion that is not been challenged....make no doubt we serve the federal government , but you would be hard press to find a soldier to pull the trigger on a Canadian citizen.

According to these new figures that the liberals never planed to raise DND budget to more than 1.1 % of GDP.....Man did they ever make it sound good, went out to the general public asked for what they thought, and to the amazement of the liberals most supported spending more , much more on defense.....The liberals never intended to listen to the public ,they have had this planed all along and have been leaking it out slowly....my only question would be WHY, just before an election....do Canadians have long enough memories , maybe not....

Just a question, what is going to happen to all those elected Chiefs who have signed those contracts or received funds from these companies....and if that is the case why in the flying fack would the feds even talk to any elected chief if they did not have any authority.....Perhaps it is time to pull the premier into an office and tell him, that 40 bil dollar LNG plant is gone..Tell the fisrt nations there that funding is going to be cut for all fist nations projects.....move that LNG plant east....give everyone the finger in BC, and tell them thanks for coming out....were going to pass on all that cost to BC via carbon tax, or better yet higher fuel costs....let the rest of the country see how long they last with out on that dirty old fossil fuel they keep complaining about...

Your right The feds are investing in Alberta, which traditional has been a "have lots" province paying more than it's share of Canada's overall GDP....and the FEDS decided their new found generosity within their deep pockets to invest 1.6 bil, Albertans have been screaming for a couple of years now that they needed our help...just for some comparison how much does Que receive in equalization payments....how long did Bombardier wait for their bailout, and how much was it and how many do they employ.....Alberta has lost thousands of jobs already...and the Feds are just now investing.... Yes all eyes are on the trans mountain pipeline...and what a failure that has been, nobody is building any pipelines in BC , they simply don't want them and they don't give a shit about the rest of Canada wants or the fact we ALL are still hooked on fossil fuels with no alternative in sight....I and most Canadians would be extremely surprised if the liberals can jam through this pipeline in the next 5 years.... Buying this pipeline does in no way ensure it will get built, nor does it show commitment , if they had acted with due diligence before hand they would of not had to purchase it at all. And while we are talking about pipelines, lets talk about the dead energy east....same problems....sounds like the tail is wagging the dog, why is that....

I think you have to go back well into past, when most of our immigrant were white from European nations...while the other cultures banded together forming communities like china town, little Jamaica , or they gather around their religion such as Muslims, etc... I think it is a sad state of affairs when our only option is Andrew Scheer, I mean who is this guy, what is his platform, from what I've heard so far is he is not much better than Justin....his platform is dictated by polls and special interest groups. I don't see many conservative ideas coming out of him at all....yes he is against Justin's carbon tax...., the immigration compact, basically anything Justin has come up with....but we have not heard what he is going to do with immigration, or the climate …. I also see Mad max taking a huge bite out of Scheers supporters....I think most in the cons party has written max off as a distraction but I think max will hurt the cons party standings....maybe enough to tilt the balance and giving the liberals the lead the next election….
