This problem should cross every political boundary, it should effect all politicians, but sadly it does not, This problem will be solved when enough soldiers have died and Canadians of all strips, religions , races, stand up and say enough !!!!... The only question remains is how many more is enough ? Soldiers have no unions so they lack a voice to speak for them, we are caught in between a nation we love, and a need to serve something larger, and on the other side of the coin a mostly ungrateful public , and politicians who don't care at all. This is our nation we call Canada, this is how we treat those that answer our nations call... Soldiers come from all across Canada, they are our friends, our sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, grand fathers and grand mothers, every last one of them are Canadians regardless of skin color, creed, or religion.... and yet most Canadians could not care how they are treated... to busy in their own lives to do anything about it...

Typical Canadians response, lets deflect the topic and compare our problems with the US so we don't look as bad....Canadians just want to here what is in the budget or promises for them...it has nothing to due with our nation or it's health.... better at solving issues, lets just take a look in the news today.....grassy narrows unable to drink their water due to mercury poisoning for the last 50 YEARS, not to mention the dozens of other reservations having the same problem....Gun control liberals took all about 5 mins to make that decision that did not consult with subject matter experts, even the cops are speaking out against it, LAV scam now there is another prime example of how we solve problems ,who cares if the solution breaks the law... Climate change emergency, what are we doing again to fight climate change, oh ya taxing fossil fuels, but not enough to make our Paris agreement numbers........ , this entire campaign has been nothing more than a mud fling contest....thats what we are interested in... that and how much am I going to pocket....

The US government has more programs for it's vets that provide more benefits than Canadians and on top of that there is hundreds other programs that are run by non profit organization run by it's regular US citizens, you see they saw a problem and when their government could not step in, they did....Here in Canada there are a few non profit orgs that are helping, but there numbers are to few to help all...there is a difference in US and Canadians citizens, the US likes their soldiers, in Canada we are second class citizens...

Well shit son, thank you for your service, being a flag cop must be exhausting to say the least, and I'm sure all the other vets in this country are thrilled to find that there service means dick if they do not follow graham's new rules for being a patriot.... speaking for myself I think most Canadians are ungrateful for the services that are provided for them every day by, DND, CSIS, RCMP, Coast Guard, Fire fighters, EMS techs, any dept. that signs on to unlimited liability, where they may have to put their lives at risk or are forced to for other Canadians citizens... I agree with dougies statement that not one vet is given special treatment by this country, with exception of Nov 11 , thats when your guilt over how we are treated gets the better of you...Its has been many years now since we as a nation pulled out of Afghanistan, and there are hundreds of vets still involved in court cases for a number of reasons... most of them are just trying to get the same medical / mental treatment your entitled to, we don't want more we want what you get......Why is that so hard to understand and get behind ….we in this nation treat our enemies with greater respect than we do our own soldiers...and they (Canadians) take pride in that...they also take pride in sending us into combat with obsolete equipment, wpns, and vehs...That they take great national pride in, so much so they make jokes about it...while soldiers, or I should remind you Canadian citizen's where dying in because we were to Fing cheap... And despite all this Soldiers continue to serve this country because they love it, enough to die for it ...thats what I call being a patriot....and you Sir all you can do is argue with a vet about who does or does not deserve respect. and yet You guys wonder why a lot of those vets are bitter at the way they are treated.... I'm sure your relatives that have served would be shaking their heads right now, over a spat about a flag, and how you threaten a vet....ya they be proud....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not bickering, I was asking a question, second it was you that brought up that thousands of years ago climate change played a large role in collapsing some of the worlds renown nations. all I did was point out it was hardly due to human causes , due to lake of industry or pollution at the time but rather it was a natural occurrence...which goes against the grain of what your saying now...which is we have created this beast called climate change that is so serious that we need to declare an emergency.......and it is not a natural occurrence but man made...perhaps my understanding of an emergency is flashing lights, sirens , life or death, that sort of things....not a situation that our government creates a plan of action , in the toilet stall on some shit paper... because that is the optics they want you to see...the want panic, they want confusion, lots of that when you get 300,000 Canadians in the streets of Montreal protesting...they barely got that when the Quebec referendum was being held...and yet Canada's plan hinges on some taxes on fossil fuels, those taxes will not even get us to 1/2 way point in our Paris accord agreements...….does that look like a response to an emergency....does it feel like an emergence to you ?... I do agree the planet is involved in some sort of climate changed , perhaps made stronger by mans interference...but what I do not agree is we have to hide under our beds because in 10 years the world is going to end like a lot of people ....we have already been burned by one so called climate expert, and I use his example once again, the father of all this fringe climate change theories AL gore....remember all the panic he caused... and as far as human induced panic , lets not forget Y2K when government made a lot of to do about computers and the end of everything we take for granted....another farce....so we have established we are not immune to farces, or what I call bullshit with a little science sprinkled in...You want me to believe in the science, when our own government is not really convinced either, when their actions say other wise... Then go on line, and there are lots of sites that explain all the science and do it convincedly, and then there is the other side lots of sites out there telling us the opposite....and finally we look at the actions of other nations around the world...are they into emergency mode...no they are not... sorry I'm going to wait for the other bus on this one...

Just so I'm clear when you say climate change played a role in these civilizations collapsing, are you saying that these a natural events and if so why is our climate change not natural occurrence. what was the chief cause of these climate changes, not much industry or man made events back in those times, so what was the cause ? ..

I never agree with eyeball but he has hit the nail on the head with this one ..... , I think both conservative and liberal parties have treated Canadians like we are second class citizens, neither party really has a clue on how to run the country, and yet we the citizens have become shell shocked to this behavior, over exposed into thinking it is actually normal, getting slapped in the ass with a 2 x 4 , and then asking "May I have another sir"... That's what I thought ....yes we do have a issue with the climate, but is it an emergency as most of the climate extremist are declaring ? ...Yes that was what al gore and his band of wing nuts were saying as well, by now we were suppose to be under water, so don't sit there and tell me there is no fake news on all of this....I took the temperature, 15 degrees Celsius today, according to environment Canada that's pretty much average for this time of year, for this part of the country....

What evidence do you have that clearly states we are in a climate emergency ? what does that mean emergency, on a scale from 1 to 10 where are we now ? There is to much info out there right now nobody knows what is up or down....

I live in a small military town, everyone knows everyone sort of thing....I see them everyday... I've attended more funerals here than Ramp ceremonies in Afghanistan due to suicides...Men who were great Warriors, fearless , and would help anyone with anything, proud men, with families and wife's with healthy relationships...., ....I watch them shrink into drunks, drug addicts ,divorced, having no contact with family, even friends shun them, in and out of jail , treated like scumbags ... my problem is I see them how they used to be, A type personalities, mentally and physically strong, some of the best people I knew …..and to see them reduced to who they are today is really hard to take...even seeing this takes it's toll on those of us who have some how survived putting those ghost behind us.....when everything is said and done, the only people vets can depend on is other soldiers, brothers in arms...who's number dwindle each year... There are days that I doubt all the sacrifices we made in the service.... for such an ungrateful country was worth the cost...And if I had to do it over again, I'm not sure I would...don't get me wrong I meet some of the finest people this country has to offer....I seen them do the impossible, with little to no support from our country....it was impressive to say the least..and I was proud to serve next to them.... but we paid a huge cost, a cost that nobody else gives a shit about....

Would it matter , AL gore came out with all kinds of numbers and studies, and proof, millions jumped on that climate train, only to find out the world was not going to die in the 10 years as his study suggested....WOW, Here we are today still here ….todays climate change is no different and in a the next 10 years we will still be here , and the next generation will be spewing off about how the world is going to end....remember Y2K and all the panic and billions the government spent on that fiasco...

Veterans look at election promises being made and do not see much coming from any of the parties with the exception of the Conservatives trying to set things right and PPC. They are also very leery of the cons promises as they have burned the Military and Vets in the past....
