  1. So what your saying is Japan has never been an example to follow....or that they have no economic growth...But they do have a restrictive immigration policy......along with many other countries that follow the same policies........MY question is this how do they continue their economic growth dispite claims here that say......to have any growth one must have a robust immigration policy.....no immigration no growth.....That is what you guys a saying.....and i'm saying that is not true in all cases.....
  2. One other question why is Micheals source quoted as saying net debt as percentage of GDP at 64 % what does that mean exactly.
  3. A lot of numbers being thrown around which is adding to the confusion..... What we are saying is that Canadians are on the hook for 60.8 Bil dollars each year to service debt......and we brush that off as not being a whole lot of money because it represents only 8.1 % of out total income.....What has me concerned is this attitude in the last 8 years we have added 175 bil to our national debt, and according to Michaels source represents a 54.6 % increase in national debt.....The liberals have already said they are will to add another 186 bil just for infra structure over the next 12 years. that does not take into account anything else.....ARE you asking us to relax everything is going to be OK the debt is really nothing to worry about..... When would be a good time to get concerned ....when they jack up interest rates, or when they jack up me taxes....
  4. How do other nations mange economic growth such Japan, who happens to have a very restrictive immigration policies, how does one of the largest world economies mange it all without bringing in large numbers of immigrants.....or are you suggesting that there are no exceptions to the rules.....
  5. How can it be falling if our government continues to run negative bals....
  6. Just a question.....How much does it cost Canadian tax payers yearly to service this debt? just to stay neutral.....
  7. WOW....That's a pretty tall statement, and while I do agree with most conservative ideas.....I do not support this one.....It is old school thinking that plagues our Canadian society....I can name you hundreds of women who I served with in the military that have gone above and beyond the call of duty, who have risked their lives and more just so they could be considered equals to men that worked with them.....I've seen a female medic rush into a hail of small arms fire to treat a downed Canadian soldier, with out thinking she just lept into action......doing what, we trained infantry soldiers were taught to do....but that day froze up for a few seconds to long....And not just this one girl....I meet hundreds of military women that I would go to war with any day....women that I served shoulder to shoulder with, women I was proud to call comrade in arms, or soldier....I have met other women that serve with in the RCMP, Coast Guard, Local fire halls, EMT's all with huge set of lady balls, that could, and do put men to ashame with their dedication and service to their jobs..... So before we paint the entire women race with one paint brush.....we should stop and think before we speak.....this is why we do not have true equal rights for both genders....this thinking it will truly never happen...This way of thinking is not just with in the Military.....but all through our nation....
  8. You would think all this info would be on our federal web sites.....you know in advent we had a government interested in transparency....but they are not ...why is that ....is it because the numbers are too high for the average Canadian to swallow....shit even the liberals said the numbers are huge.....and a lot of Canadians are not going to like it.....what code is that for I wonder......soften the blow a bit....why not mention the number in the same article.....because they don't want you to see it....The numbers will come out sooner than later...and when they do, I wonder if You guys are going to all for immigration......or be looking for an alternative.
  9. Yes I will agree with you Immigration built this country to what it is today....But let me ask you this, do you think the immigration process of the past was a fair and equable one , or was it slanted to mostly white men and women, from mostly Europe....less Jews, and other small unwanted groups.....Is that the process you slapping me in the face with..... I have no problem with immigration, but not in the numbers they have today....and not at the cost ..... And just because i'm one of the few people that do not agree, does not mean that immigration is the only way to keep our country viable for the future..... I have nothing again'st immigration, except i'd rather see that 27 Bil put back into Canadians hands vice newly arrived immigrants....it is after all their money is it not.....unless you think they are unworthy.....what do you have again'st Canadians....of all colors, race, creeds.....
  10. It is not that I totally agree with jbg, but since you have brought it up, I wonder if I to will be labeled a Bigot....and while I would not use the same example you have used to imply bigoty.....I also would make the reader aware that the French did have a problem with the draft, and draft dogging......and the French from France did have a problem with their forces, moral, to the point of outright desertion, and yes they liked the color of white..... Yes the French men and women did serve with distinction, just as any other Canadian unit did....Such as the RCR's or PPCLI both sharing most if not all of the battle honors as these French units had....That being said while the English side did not have any problems in the early to mid ways through WWI getting the troops it needed to fill out their ranks....Quebec had solved this in the early days by empting our it's jails, offering pardons, if they joined the Military.....the Vandoos, and 60th had a good deal of convicts in their ranks.....and while this was also common to find convicts in English units as well, just not in the same numbers as the French units.....As the war progress however both English and French had problems finding good recruits..... The French units were part of the Canadian Corps.....and served side by side with English troops.....No more no less, and faced the same enemy in the toughest conditions of the war... You make it sound like our French Canadians did this all by themselves.....THATS NOT true.....in fact that this operations were carried out by many programs such as SOE British command, who employed thousands of Europeans, Canadians , and Americans who spoke various languages ...French being one just of them...It was not just a French Canadian operation.... You are aware of course that WWII was a world war and not just in Russia and Europe right, or did you forget the pacific, and Africa pieces of the puzzle.....The fact that most of Europe was liberated by the ANGLSPHERE, along with northern Africa and most of Europe ...And Russia spent most of it's time regaining ground it was tossed off in the early stages of WWII, that and some political concessions to the Russians allowed them to gain a foothold in eastern Europe....because all sides were exhausted and did not want a protracted war with Mother Russia fighting over the cut up of Europe.... And just how much was the ANGLOSHERE involved with keeping mother Russia supplied with war toys anyways.... I think brushing off the ANGLSPHERE influence in WWII is pompus on your part, or perhaps Vison seeker is a French Canadian and maybe a little bit of that Bigotry is poking through here..... Just a tiny bit.... This is what happens when Federal politicians do not have the balls to tell "ALL" Canadians this is our official Policy on Language....Failure to compile will result in lower federal tax dollars being returned to your province end of story.....When you have 2 separate policies it breeds discontent.....When Quebec can turn it's head on Canada's official policy it breeds content.....New Brunswick is Canada's ONLY BI lingual province.....and only 1/3 are French speaking.....or what ever it is the speak up there, 1/2 French and 1/2 maritimer.....the rest of the places you quoted make up what percentage of the Population....If we want everyone to tow the line....then there should be one law for everyone....not one for every tom ,dick and harry and one for bill, and joe , and jack, and jill..... and that did not come from my 5 year old.....but from me....
  11. Do I really have to spell it all out.....A job open comes up at a hospital, it is at the under 16 neo natal unit counseling office.....where these young women go for advice about their condition, one candidate has worked in the neo natal unit at another hospital, another Candidate is an activist for the pro life.....which one do you think is the better pick......Activist, or the well rounded, open minded person.... At some point these activists are going to have to make decisions on bills and laws that go against their former activist roles, their decisions are going to effect ALL Canadians ......Are they qualified Yes they are .....Are they best choice NO they are not.....
  12. So for the record Mr Harper did produce Surpluses........You know what Smallc Bravo to you sir, for admitting you are wrong, or do not know.....That makes two of us, what I am sure of is everything in accounting has a positive or negative outcome....one does no just vanish results.....that much I do know...... My question is this IS immigration the only way to promote economic growth......Was it not the liberals who's plan was to spend large sums of money to kick start the economy.....why not spend those 27 bil dollars used to fund immigration every year....and spend it on Canadians to increase population growth, improve things for younger families, maybe start an free education system with it etc etc.....Nobody wants to think outside the box.....for most it is bring in the immigrants at great cost....we don't want to hear any of that rubbish about new ideas......
  13. So Harper never produced any surplus.....all that money that goes unspent from all the depts. just goes up in flames on 31 march/.....just like it was never there..........so I've asked several times Smallc do you or do you not know where this money goes.....
  14. Yes I have a close mind.....when DND returns millions and in some cases Bils back into the government where does that money go.....does it vanish....as you've said....is it used else where.....or is it declared a surplus........
  15. Yes they are , along with all the reasons you mention that immigrants create as well, with one exception that 27 bil dollars of tax payers money has been returned to Canadians....to spur on our own population growth spurt....
  16. Is that what it comes down to are they qualified......sure they are qualified ....everyone that applied is qualified....But the question should be are they the best people for the job.....DO you want activists in the job.....is it partisanship or ideology do we want any of them having the final say to all our futures laws and policies.....How about someone with a level head and can make good solid decisions based on facts.....do I want some partisan hack in there NO I do not, do I want some hard core ideology hack in there ....No I don't ....I want someone in the center.... Are we on the right track....I really like the fact the liberals are doing this.....I was expecting some better choices....is all.
  17. Or are we confusing accommodation with appeasement.....in a rush to not let things get complicated we actually make things worse......
  18. Is that really true......so for the record which Canadians are accommodating in this case.....is it long standing Canadians, or is it the Muslim Canadians.....
  19. Yes they do all that, but you and some others on here are forgetting the other stuff they also create, the need for new road networks, plus the maintence such asrepairs, snow removal etc etc.......Not to mention at some point these cities "they" collect in become to crowded, meaning new infra structure is needed sub ways, high ways, sewage and water treatment, garbage sites, and collection, power needs grow....meaning so does that infra structure....a lot of these projects are split with the federal government all of it adding to the bill which at last source was quoted at 27 bil tax payers dollars ....which could be dumped back into taxpayers pockets in the form of new tax breaks or monthly checks for children.....why is that so hard to swallow.....because it is new, it automatically will not work......well sir, it worked back in the day....when the average family was 4 to 5 kids.....
  20. Ok, so lets get this straight in Sask .....when they use government funding to fund a program do they use government funding ....or tax payers funding or something else....and if there is funding ear marked for say immigration and it is not used what happens to the money according to you it vanish....perhaps you can explain that magic trick....for some one not so smart as you..... As for the debunking, i'm sorry I did ask for a source where it did just that, and instead I got some chirping from you....I'd like a source that says what the cost of current immigration costs based on 250,000 immigrants and 50,000 refugees......and if the fraiser report is so out of wack why was it not debunked on national TV or media outlets.....if you can show me proof of that i'd be glad to sit down and STFU.....
  21. So your OK with women only having one night to swim......and men having the other 6 nights ......That's accommodation. Perhaps if you where a man you would be good with that....or if you did not like swimming or going to the pool........Now what happens if a grand father or father wants to or has to for some reason take his daughter or grand daughter to swimming classes.....does he wait in the car or is he allowed to watch the class......or maybe it only applies to women...not children..... And where do we draw the line in accommodation.....there are thousand of questions we could ask.....do we allow Muslims to practice and be ruled by shia law..... it is after all a religious request is it not.....do we allow for different laws to rule certain segments of the population, .....If the Main theme of the Great Canadian experiment with multi culture is to ring loud and clear....we are expected to open our hearts and minds and become one open melting pot, to adapt, to become of one race which is Canadian right a mulit colored , multi race, multi religion, etc etc..... .....Unless that is just for white Canadians...or Canadians that where here before the great experiment started.....
  22. Politicians want a lot of things.....free day care was a NDP idea was it not.....do we have free day right now....is it control any way, other than in Quebec....I get it.... everyone wants women to work....dual incomes means more middle class.....but here is a question what is our unemployment rate at right now.....in some places it is up to what 14 -20 %.....we going to fix that with immigration......a lot of things wrong with this country.....and it needs to be a balanced approached.....not just lets open up the front doors and bring in immigrants at huge costs to the tax payers because that is what we have always done.....Because women want to work, and we need all day family care centers.... Women can still work, nothing changes that.....even when you start paying them more to have children.....I see working women have children all the time....it still happens....maybe part of that 27 Bil can go into providing child care as well.....
  23. Ludicrous....well if your not spending it on immigration where does it go.....does it just evaporate into the digital world....
  24. The Frasier report tells us how much it is costing "Tax payers" for immigration.....It does not record any other expenses or gains made by public companies or individuals.....Lets here what it costs us currently for immigration.....27 bil tax payers dollars.....What you have failed to prove or even provide is how much of that came back into government coffers....you make it sound like the federal government invested 27 bil and and out in the black....so fill us in on the theory with some facts..... I agree with you , most immigrants do not live in the streets.....But I hope your not trying to tell me immigrants drive our housing markets, which in turn drives our service sector.....last year Canada let in a total of 300,000 plus immigrants and refugees.....for a total cost of 27 BIL dollars.....last year there was roughly 207,000 new housing starts.....in fact the estimate for next year is going to be less according to CMHC web site.....down to approx. 159,000 to 190,000 new home starts.....I find this interesting because you automatically assume that when a immigrant arrives a new home is built....But I guess not according to the numbers.....one they are to small, meaning some immigrants are living some where,we don't know...second we would also assume that of all those new starts not one of them went to already established Canadians.......which is crazy......If what your saying is true we would have much more new homes being built....Now CMHC does give credit do where it is do....new immigrants help with the drive to build new homes......but as we have already shown, clearly they are not the driving factor..... Do you really think that after all is said and done, the federal government is going to collect 27 BIL dollars worth of new taxes.....Because their is something else the Frasier report fails to mention.....the cost of all the grants or provincial assistance to assist with building new construction such as low income housing, new infra structures such as highways, bi ways, new water, and sewage disposal systems and plants, plus other projects such as subways, over passes, new roads to new communities....the snow removal, etc etc etc ....because when we add to the population all those costs go up as well...... Just to clarify are you saying that Canadians do not move or grow their families then move at all.....that immigration is the sole driver of our real estate market.....Now I'm from New Brunswick.... and new homes are being built here by the thousands....and in this part of the country I'm sorry immigrants stand out.....and while some new home s are for immigrants the majority of these new home owners are good old fashion Canadians.....3 or 4 th generation Canadians....And i'm sure it is the way across a lot of the country.... Most wealthy nations or western nations do a lot of things that do not make sense.....Middle east ring a bell.....so the old adage that every one is doing it it must be true.....I have drawn attention to the old ways .....and I did not say curtail population growth.....I suggested using that 27 Bil it costs us in Immigration fees to promote other ways internally..... We already know that family size is controlled by finances of the family unit.....the est for 2015/16 for new borns was 392,902.....if all we need to do is add 250, 300,000 more to that number....27 BIL: would go along way to help make that happen....Not very good at math.....but how much would that be if we divided it by say 300,000.....
  25. You brush it off like it is mission impossible, History has already proven you can move mountains if you have enough cash......And I get you said it is bogus.....without a link to prove other wise.....So why can't the answer by Canadian driven....currently the average family is 1.9 according to https://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-recensement/2011/as-sa/98-312-x/98-312-x2011003_1-eng.cfm . And what are the main reasons why family size have decreased over the years, number one reason is they can not afford it.....by providing a financial aid or tax relief for growing families this could remove some of that financial pressure and increase family size....providing the same effects as bringing in immigrants..... Look who the government is saying they want to target " The measure would target skilled, entrepreneurial newcomers in an attempt to stimulate economic growth"....Because we don't have these people already in Canada.....is that what you and the government are suggesting.....if that is the case what are we doing wrong.....despite the millions of immigrants we have already taken in to our country....we can never find skilled, entrepreneurial Canadians ... I call BS on that one.....
