Maybe we should be asking why we feel the need to whitewash the news ? if everyone is upset about the mention of muslim men...why do we allow the fact both were identified as lesbians, why not just 2 girls...is the fact they are lesbians integral to the story, would it change the story if they were straight women...... I think so, as the fact that these 10 men are Muslim it tells the whole story...it gives the motive for the 10 men to beat them up in the first place...are people that soft we can not handle the entire story or are we trying to protect muslim men from bad stereotypes...... I mean if it was not for these 10 muslim mens actions that night this would not be a story, their actions brought shame to all muslims, or white, black brown, or purple people whom ever did it...Should the entire community not be made aware that there is a group of 10 MUSLIM men roaming their neighborhood, beating up gay women....where is the balance, public safety, or bad stereotypes.

we could just enforce the laws as they are written, these people arriving illegally could be turned around given back to the US...Call them a cab and send them on there way...they landed in the US first, which i don't mean to be a pri*k but thats their problem...or deport them, at their own expense....return to sender..

If Israel annexes the Gaza Strip...
Army Guy replied to NAME REMOVED's topic in The Rest of the World
There are not many options for Israel given that they have tried everything else...Israel is faced with an impossible task, destroying Hamas which is more of an ideology than a group...hard to kill an idea...which means Hamas the name might be destroyed only to come back under a new name same characters.... So what are Israel options when it comes to the safety of their people...Because right now i think Israel is thinking real hard about occupation and this time your going to see settlements in Gaza...and like the west bank they will slowly start driving them out... -
In what way do you think Trump is going to screw over Ukraine ? Just how important is Ukraine to Biden/ NATO right now, does it rank in the top ten...where exactly...
-
Here we go again , August's obsession with NATO..and how it is no longer valid...NATO like any organization grows and changes with time, NATO is now being turned into a more global organization, that now grows to meet other threats in the globe such as china, other dictators, the middle east...etc... Ukraine is not joining NATO anytime soon, it might be able to get into the european union, but not NATO, not for a while... With the globe full of threats why would you feel the need to get rid of one organization that polices the globe...and if it has a proven record of as you say defeating the warsaw pact, during the cold war, without firing a shot, why would we not use it... most people who advocate to dismantle NATO normally have no clue what NATO offers to all of it's membership..benefits that that reach into other organizations such as the UN, and many others...we no longer need NATO would be akin to Canada saying we no longer need Quebec...it is a bad idea to part ways with something that is working... I think this has already been explain to you, what US made weapons we do buy is becasue they make the best on the market, such as the F-18, griffon helos, chinooks, but Canadian military uses tanks from germany, IFV from switzerland, Supply ships designs from Germany, frigates designs from the UK, small arms from Belgium, SMP trucks from germany, Italy and france the list goes on...maybe a 1/3 of our military kit is from the US...your statement is false...
-
Do you honestly think that NATO is supporting Ukraine to the best of it's ability...or just maintaining status quo....do you think Ukraine is going to get a better deal with Biden in charge ?....
-
I've made a point to respond to all your posts, all your responses, points, remarks...out of respect to you.... you don't have to like my answers, but i think i've proven most of my points with valid sources, again you don't have to like them, but those are my answers in what i believe to be true or factual..

No, let me be frank, had you or others looked at that map, i provided put out by Ukrainian sources, you'd see marked in Yellow the gains from a couple of days ago....those gains IN A FEW DAYS were measured in KM's not meters... the Map runs counter to your statements that there has been NO gains since the start of the war...when that is just a lie...gains are being made, and they are in the KMs not meters....Ukrainian forces are being pushed back along large swaths of the entire front...Ukrainian forces have made some counter attacks and stalled russian forces in some sectors...but on a whole russian is making gains... I mean every media source on the planet is basically saying the same thing, not sure why you have a hard time excepting what they print as truth, i have given you sourses from both the right and the left, and you've dismissed them, i gave you mapos made by Ukraine that clearly show Russian daily advances and you dismiss them...not sure where to go on this.

It is not my intention to cheerlead the Russians, i was just pointing out Ukrainian forces are now fatigued and can not go toe to toe with the Russias in a war of attrition without NATO stepping up in its support ...currently that support level sees Russia making steady gains... I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts interviewing volunteers that are fighting in Ukraine, these guys are telling a much different story...for the most part Ukrainian forces are on the defensive...due to a lot of things, the most important ones are lack of ammo, and equipment, and many more factors...Then there are the statements form other nations generals staff, the most recent one from US commander of US troops in Europe he states Ukraine is not going to win this fight unless NATO steps up it's support...i don't think he is a russian supporter...i think he see the writing on the wall... It is very true NOBODY thought that Ukraine could pull off what they have...they showed the world with NATO support they could and did go on the offensive and pushed russia forces back, in almost every sector...NATO support dwindled and Russia took advantage of that and we see it in Russian gains....So it is no secret Ukraine is capable of pushing back the Russians, but THEY need NATO support to do that... As for running out of men, the sad fact is they are now running low on this resource , recently they have taken a page out of Russia handbook and started to empty out its prisons... also by changing the age in which they conscript, changing medical standards, the list goes on.... you don't do that unless there is a problem....Even Ukrainian military figures are stating their are manpower shortages...
-
You refuse to believe that Russian arty are having an large impact on the battlefield...in fact the largest impact for russian forces, it is still responsible for killing close to hundred ukrainians each day... The maps you showed do not show the scale of the battlefield, or small gains by Russians...the map i provided does just that, it shows the progress of battles that happen this week in yellow...i take it you have not taken a look, some of these gains are multi kms in depth...all of it runs contrary to your statement that there has been no gains, or very little gains. You still don't get it...Russia does not care about losses, it counts success by territory gained, each one of those media outlets have said that much in their articles....The fact they are still advancing is telling is it not, NATO current support is keeping this conflict at the stalemate level...with Russia making small gains everyday.... This conflict is not going to take until 2040, Ukraine will have been bleed dry well before that...Ukraine will meet a tipping point where Russian advances will gain more ground, much more quicker with fewer losses...They did the same thing with the NAZI's.... And Ukraine is also taking heavy losses that it can not replace as easily as Russia can, Ukraine will run out of resources well before Russia....Unless NATO steps up and increases it's support....that should be obvious to anyone. It leaves only a couple of options for Ukraine since it can not win a war of attrition........Convince NATO to step up its support....or in the near future sit down and talk to Russia...If NATO does not increase it's support...

You must have a source for that right... You have said plenty of times NATO is not afraid or concerned with Russia< now your saying it would be at great cost , sure it would...as it is coming at a great cost to Ukraine... Your assuming that this war with NATO if that happens is winnable, by conventional means, but once Putin starts to loss face and is backed into a corner do you think he is going to be a good loser...or push the button...I mean your pretty confident he won't but really your assuming he won't , thats something you'd bet your life on... There are many organizations that track all of the global events and measure them in time remain until nuclear exchanges do happen...the global clock has never been this close to everything going up in a mushroom cloud... I don't really trust trump with the codes either...but atleast he knows what planet he is on... I think most nations leaders are somewhat aware of what war costs, and yet, we have had 2 world wars todate, not a great track record consider what both of them cost, and we are still willing to cross that line and go to war... We are discussing it becasue it seems that NATO is very concerned about escalating becasue It may turn ugly,,,they are not as confident as you are that putin will not press the button...or NATO would not be concern about sinking billions into BMD tech, or upgrading it's own nuclear arsenals... Not even sure what you mean by this... So what your really saying is NATO does not give a rats ass about Ukraine, it is not going to risk going to war.... ....which is fine, but lets face it Ukraine is not going to have this stalemate without NATO support, which is just maintaining a stalemate...not sure why you can not see that...what you cant see either is Ukraine can not maintain a stalemate forever , Russia has much more resources than Ukraine does, IT CAN"T WIN A WAR OF ATTRITION, which is what this has turned out to be... Strange i've underlined in bold several times, maybe go back and reread some of my posts... Ukraine might not have a choice but to start talks, Ukraine does not have the resources to fight Russia... not in equipment or Manpower...somehow your against talking , but you don't have any skin in the game do you...Ukraine is hurting for manpower...NATO is not going to provide enough support to change the battlefield...so what options are left...I'm asking you becasue you seem to have all the answers ? Here's a tidbit of info for you, i'm well aware of what happens in war, and all of it that war brings...i spent plenty of time in a war zone....not watching it on TV but rather in person....i think your not understanding what is at stake here...Ukraine is being bleed out...by Russia, NATO is only providing a trickle in support, enough to just keep the Russians from over running the country...Nobody is wanting Russia to win this conflict, but it is not happening right now, unless NATO steps up...with more in the way of support... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68778338 What does this guy know....he is just a general in charge of all US troops in Europe....I think the article says a lot of the same talking points i've been pointing out... I guess i'm not the only one screaming for NATO to take some action...

OK Ukraine is doing more damage with less ammo, i think i said that a few times....Now your saying Russian arty is not translating into battle field effect....But Ukraine is reporting 80 % of all their casualties are from Russian arty...thats pretty effective in any world, country, or planet...thats not a math look thats ukraine reporting where they are taking tthe bulk of their casualties from... Russian doctrine...Russia success on the battlefield is measured on ground taken....not by men or equipment losses... Perhaps look at different maps, The maps that have been shown don't have a date stamp, nor do they show any true scale....not sure what to tell you... i see in some cases 10 t0 20 km of advances...ABC, CNN, BBC, CBC, most european media outlets, ukraines media outlets...basically are all telling the same story... You can play with this map, maybe you'll get more out of it, Note yellow areas are recent Russian gains red are under Russian control, black border areas were Russia before the war...these gains are not blades of grass but measured in KM's....It gets updated on a regulars basis every couple of days... there are other maps you can look at , they all tell the same tale....this one is provided by ukraine...so no russian bias. You have access to actual accurate measuring devices so advances are tracked down to the meter... MAP scale can be adjusted to suit your needs, i think it is fair to say Russian advances have made some head way...atleast in the major battlefield zones... like Bakhmut,Horlivka etc... https://understandingwar.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/3dviewer/index.html?appid=1602762dbcde419bb957dea358449580

Your stuck in the math loop, I've already conceded to your point, russian Arty is not as effective as Ukrainian not sure what else i can say... They make up for that fact by firing more rounds.... Russian are suppose to be taking more casualties they are on the offensive, which means they are taking more risk....you normally attack a position when you outnumber the defenders about 4 to 1...Thats not been happening in all cases...Russians just keep throwing men at the problem hoping to gain some ground.... Thats not what it shows at all, this conflict is basically being fought by arty...much like WWI....with one side making slow but steady progress through costly assaults'... when the Russias don't care about your math.....when Russia can afford all of the losses it takes...have you seen them change up their tactics....so for them it is working, losses means nothing.....where Ukraine can not sustain these loses, they are now putting prisoners on the front line, as new recruits are getting harder to come by which is another red flag....Meaning that Russia will win a war of attrition...That's where the math comes in... Advances are still advances, it means more territory that Ukrainian forces will have to take back, and yes each blade of grass is measured in blood and manpower...something Ukraine cannot afford to begin to match Russia...what does it count for, well on Ukraine side it counts for everything, a complete generation being expended to fight for Russian aggression, on the Russia side Putin gets to save face by whatever reason he decides to come up with....losses mean nothing, as we have already seen, if it did this would have stopped long ago...Russia will win this if it goes on for to long...Ukraine can not win a war of attrition...unless NATO steps up more than it has.

I'm glad your crystal ball is working, many NATO analysts are not so sure as you are...Russian Military is confident it can survive a nuclear exchange...Again watch some of the Russia media and tell me they have a sound mind... I've asked you this question already, so if they are not afraid of Antagonising Russia why have they not committed to fully supporting Ukraine, why have they not sent troops into Ukraine, or better equipment ...you must know the answer you continue to use the same excuse NATO is not afraid of Russia....but something is holding them back what is it? Thats not what i said at all....Russia is more likely to provoke a nuclear strike, That's not me saying that Thats NATO doctrine...NATO takes all of Russia threats seriously...As Russia is a still a very dangerous opponent... Nothing is certain... Again i did not compare bidin with Putin...your twisting my words...i said would you trust biden with a nuclear trigger it's a yes or no question... Just how are we standing up for what is right ? by giving Ukraine just enough support to maintain a stalemate...is thats what is right in your mind...in my mind what would be right is providing Ukraine with enough support to throw Russia back into Russia thats what would be right instead of leading them on and prolonging this conflict... NATO is holding back for what reason ?, something you have failed to explain to all of us...so call Russian sympathizers Right now you stand with the organization that likes to talk and act on the side of caution...afraid or very concerned with how Russia will react....If NATO is not afraid or very concerned what is holding them back...Is ukraine not a priority for NATO? Why is NATO so concerned with rearming at this moment what is the threat? is it Russia, China who ? I've been very consistent in my posts here....I want NATO to step up it's support so Ukraine can break the stalemated and throw Russia back to Russia....And if NATO is not going to do that then allow Ukraine to sit down at the table with Russia.....Becasue Ukraine is not going to win at the current level of support from NATO....it will continue to lose men and women for no real gains.....not sure how that makes me on the wrong side of this issue...

except there was no christians, was there, he tasked an already overtasked spec ops group to rescue a group specified by the Minister of National defense when they could have been rescuing other Canadians or those that helped Canadians during the conflict...instead the minister choose one group over another,...and has no other answer for his decision except to lie ....typical liberal response to anything that does not go as plan...Why the liberals picked him over Leslie for MDND is beyond me.
-
You think Putin, is of sound mind...or any of his minions, have you watched any Russian TV and seen what they are calling for putin to do...you should check it out, their responses are all over the internet...Putin would push the button if cornered.... You think sleep joe should have the access to the nuclear trigger ? How about the Iranian leadership think they would not send Israel a nuke if they get one.... NK think that crazy MF'er would not send a rocket to anyone if pushed...

Actually i think the 10 men did a fine job bring credit to the entire middle eastern men population by themselves...CDNfox did not make this story, they did...does it paint brown people in a bad lite...sure it does, but i think this story needs to be told...why does it take 10 men to beat up 2 girls...10 men beating up any girls should be something that concerns us all, the fact that it was two LGBTQ girls, makes it a hate crime, correct me if i'm wrong....and all hate crimes should be stories...that we all should be interested in... In this case these 10 men should be arrested , and if found guilty should be deported...I may not fully support the LGBTQ community, but this, come on man this is pure hate through and through...and we have enough hate in this country...
-
I think the minister of national defense used his position to make this mission possible, and is now trying to say he did not order the military just passed the info down the chain of command... He should know as being ex military himself the military does not interrupted requests from the top, they ( military)determine if those orders are legal, then carry them out...like what happened in this case...why would he pass this info down if he did not want it actioned...i mean there was maybe 200 different organizations , religions, races on the ground all needing rescue...but his info chose a specific group and info on their whereabouts.... He has gotten himself into hot water, the military did what they were asked to do...

I'm sure Russia was not taken into account NATO reaction, and it's support with new NATO standard weapons... The US onslaught of wagner troops in Syria, was just the US making a point... there was no NATO , no anyone, Just the US flexing its military might and they went out of their way to flex...and Wagner paid the price...that was not an example of near peer conflict...who did not have access to real air defense, fast air, helo support in any great qty...it was a slaughter, to send a point to russia... Everyone still forgets Russia is still has the largest nuclear arm in the game, along with enough chemicals to bath the entire earths population, not to mention bio weapons' along with a huge conventional army...lets not forget the mad men that would have no issue of using it if pushed...NATO commanders have stated this over and over ...Not one of them think Russia is a push over...not sure where you would get that idea from.
-
The fact remains they are advancing right...the next question you need to ask is why? it is simple Ukraine has said it is the lack of timely support from NATO...I mean lets be honest without NATO support Ukraine would most likely be speaking Russian...Currently NATO support is JUST keeping Ukraines head above water.... One of my talking points is NATO should be providing more support to Ukraine, not just to keep this war in basically a stalemate, but rather to push Russia out of Ukraine....Instead NATO dithers in talking about support, allowing Russia to make small gains...and costing Ukraine it's youth... NATO takes every threat seriously...as it is not just Russia that gets wiped off the face of the earth it is the entire human race....and yet Russia still thinks it could win a nuclear exchange..It is Russia nuclear arm that makes NATO nervous...It's conventional forces are not to be overlooked as well....and while NATO has a huge advantage, many of our young generation will pay for that confrontation with their life's...And judging how we treated our last vets, Thats not something to look forward to...

The last thing i'm trying to accomplish here is cheerlead for mother Russia when i spent a good portion of my career training to fight the Warsaw pact...so i have no love for them or those other dictators. That being said what i have continued to say is never underestimate Russia, and never overestimate NATO it is not as strong as it once was, and is just over the last 5 or 6 years started a slow burn to build up it's forces...Russia on the other hand has spent those years at war with most of it's internal workings...and although Ukraine is handing them their asses, Russia does not judge success or losses by casuality reports, or equipment losses by territory gains...which it has been doing in the last 8 months to a year... Not sure how a few facts can be cheerleading for russia...perhaps you can give me some examples and i can perhaps explain where my thought process was at the time.

Thanks moonbox for the character reference...And yes sometimes i do get blinded by some topics....as i assume most people do...last time i checked i do not have holes in my hands or feet so i'm not perfect.

I just gave you several news media reports that clearly describe Russia advances, in the last year...in fact most of them are very very recently....not sure what else to tell you, perhaps your not following this conflict very closely, or your sources are not update...I tried to use a wide variety of sources such as CNN, or BBC are they not reliable ? I could give you dozens of sources that back up my statement, that in the last 20 years NATO force sizes have shrunk, and have only now been serious being look at with serious funding attached to those commitment... Just look at British tank fleet sizes in the 90's and 2000, and compare them today..the fact you could do that with any major army capability speaks volumes for cashing in peace bonds, or cuts to their military size and capabilities....I use Britian here as an example becasue i thought it was your birth nation...I eman Britain has had a huge struggle in maintaining it's capabilities in their navy and airforce and army...And with Britian being one of the main Characters in NATO you don't think the smaller nations have not taken this example and run with it...look at Germany once had 2500 Leopard tanks, and is now down to just 300 plus, how is that not been a decrease in capabilities.. Not only i'm i saying it, but i have lived through it Canada one of NATO largest lagarts has set the example for everyone to see clearly that not many Countries took there membership in NATO seriously....i mean just look at the SIGNed agreement for all nations to meet 2 %...which was already on of the NATO policies, but it took another signed agreement to get other nations moving becasue leadership in NATO was very concerned...not sure how you missed that fact... Next NATO has taken on the role to supply Ukraine in this struggle...like it or not in is indirectly involved...it has upset Russia to no end, hence all the Russian threats of nuclear war...And in this supporting Ukraine it has drained off most of NATOS surplus stock piles, which has brought to light manufacture shortfalls when trying to refill these stocks, and add to all of that most nations are or have seen the light and the need for additional stocks putting more pressure on manufactures...same could be said with most war materials...German tank orders are now into 2029 before new tanks can be built...there are thousands of examples that confirm that our own manufacture plants are at or below peacetime levels... Not sure how you missed that fact either...
-
For the record ,I already have stated that US made arty is much more accurate than Russia stuff...according to you say it's 1/10 as accurate, not sure where you grabbed that figure but you go with it...Russia compensates for lack of accuracy with volume of fire...which seems to be working for them as Ukraine military sources report that 80 % of all their wounded and killed are due to RUSSIA ARTY fire...that in any military manual is effective fire...Not sure how else to explain it...if it is not effective how do you explain the fact that 80% of ukraines casualties' are from arty fire...what is effective arty fire in your mind... NO where did i say russia arty was better, or more accurate than Ukraines US made systems...I'm not even sure what your point is now... Your free to do what ever it is you like...

The maps i provided say otherwise...ABC news and plenty of other media outlets would also disagree... https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/russia-presses-offensive-ukraine-issues-new-threats-west-111539427 https://edition.cnn.com/europe/live-news/russia-ukraine-war-news-05-15-24#h_a443dfd8a0673e7f0412b093ba00c066 It would seem the Generals within NATO have a much different outlook, all of them are saying Russia remains a dangerous opponent...maybe your privy to some different information...or your just repeating what most people are saying Puffing up their chests and acting like NATO forces are invincible...But like everyone they have cashed in peace bonds hard, and are shells of their former selves...Even US forces have shrunk in size, and capabilities....Hence why most nato countries are rearming at breakneck speeds but it has cause severe back logs at the manufacturer level... once again showing that NATO manufacturing capability is far from producing it's maximum, that they have gave away all of their old stuff to ukraine...and now the cupboard is bare...that and western equipment is very complex and tech, and requires more time to produce...that simple Russian stuff.
