  1. I have a very hard time believing they did not know the vendor planned to have those pins but even allowing that the vendor did not clear his wares with the organizers, the organizers were neglect in not inspecting all vendors before the doors were opened. The GOP organizers were remiss in not removing them before a reporter saw them.
  2. Even McCain admitted that Obama didn't call Palin a pig.
  3. To finish the Salon paragraph.........The California GOP isn’t represented by every sexist piece of crap some yahoos want to peddle in its name, and it’s good news that reporter Marinucci later said that “Less than hour after we 1st tweeted, appears offensive #Hillary buttons gone from #cagop. Many here also appalled.” But in the two days since Marinucci first revealed the buttons – two days in which the story has been picked up on HuffPo, Jezebel and Talking Points Memo — the California GOP social media team has not issued any apology or statement of disapproval over the incident — not in its Twitter stream, not in its Facebook page, not on its Web page. It appears no one has officially come forward to say, “This wasn’t us, but it’s still unacceptable.” In their defense, though, they have been very busy blaming Obama for the government shutdown. http://www.salon.com/2013/10/07/republicans_sexist_anti_hillary_buttons_arent_even_original/singleton/ Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is running as a pro-small business candidate. But KCBS discovered that merchants who normally sell their wares at events like this week’s Republican National Convention in Tampa have been barred from the site by the Romney campaign, which is looking to maximize its own revenues. http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2012/08/30/kcbs-exclusive-small-vendors-barred-from-republican-national-convention-by-romney-campaign/
  4. According to Mr.Conservative http://www.mrconservative.com/2013/10/25540-anti-hillary-clinton-buttons-appear-at-california-gop-convention/
  5. Good, glad that it works for you. I do not buy it. , I have heard it played too often. Has the organizer offered an explanation how this could occur or an apology for the lack of oversight?
  6. How hard would it be for the Republicans to discover the unknown vendor and how he was able to introduce these buttons into this gathering, instead of the lame excuse they are offering....it doesn't work for me as a 70+ something American
  7. I think you should check them both out. Matt Seitz likes Sleepy Hollow and I find that I am in general agreement with most of his reviews. http://www.vulture.com/2013/09/tv-review-sleepy-hollow.html
  8. I agree about Shield but I will give it another couple of viewings. To date my favorites are The Blacklist ( I am huge James Spader fan) , and Sleepy Hollow.
  9. I didn’t realize that climate change research was considered “classified information”. I thought “classified information” referred to national security issues not the climate.
  10. This is from the Heartland/NIPCC meeting in 2008, I doubt much has changed. The real take away from the NIPCC is the following. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/04/science/earth/04climate.html?_r=1&ex=1362459600&en=0e42e2e8f8d7f2b6&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss&oref=slogin
  11. I think this is a good analysis of the flurry of articles posted here extrapolating what the unreleased IPCC report will say. http://www.commondreams.org/view/2013/09/17-0
  12. As the owner acknowledges, they should have had insurance; this would be a non-story had they purchased insurance.
  13. OK, I am confused. Are you saying that the couple who purchased the camper did not have clear title to the vehicle and that is why they did not have insurance?
  14. I am surprised that they were able to get financing on the camper without carrying insurance.
  15. The economy added more jobs during four years under Obama than it did in the entire eight years under Bush.

      bush_cheney2004

Average unemployment rate for Bush was 5.2%; Obama almost double that.

    2. Bitsy

      Bitsy

Bush -Unemployment rate rose from 4.2% to 8.3% +4.1%

Obama - Unemployment rate to date has fallen from 8.3% to 7.5% -0.8%

  16. That is a very popular theory and one that has quite a bit of supporting evidence; the key being “to protect” her son. It explains Ned’s silence about the circumstances of Jon’s birth and the identify of Jon’s mother. Kimmy, you rock; your synopsis of the season is spot on and your picture of Season 4 is a brilliant piece of writing.
  17. Another opinion on Nissenbaum's paper; it appears they broke no new ground with their research.. http://www.canwea.ca/media/release/release_e.php?newsId=165
  18. Thanks, that is the same reporting that I have read.
  19. I don’t mind your blunt talk but I would like to see a legitimate source that substantiates the above claims. The Washington Times who foolishly published the rape story without source checking was forced to print this update and remover their original story. http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2012/sep/13/picket-report-murdered-us-ambassador-libya-reporte/
  20. Rue, the story was broken by Gawker not The Star. They only published about their meeting with the drug dealers after the Gawker article was published.
  21. Good point. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/an-alternative-explanation-for-the-benghazi-talking-points-bureaucratic-knife-fight/2013/05/10/22a8df5c-b98d-11e2-b94c-b684dda07add_blog.html
  22. I am unable to locate a transcript of the Q & A, there are videos available that I can post but most are very long. This is the crucial part of the "stand down" debate. I posted this link previously I find it interesting that Hicks never used the term 'stand down'. http://www.slate.com/blogs/weigel/2013/05/08/benghazi_hearing_gregory_hicks_says_stand_down_order_is_true.html
  23. Ask Darrell Issa, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman . The Honorable Darrell Issa United States House of Representatives 2347 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515-0549 DC Phone: 202-225-3906 DC Fax: 202-225-3303
  24. I continue to read about this stand down order but no one has bothered to ask Lt. Col. Gibson who gave him the order. Hicks testified that he was told of the order by Gibson but he obviously did not bother to ask for the source of the order. I think it is time that Lt. Col Gibson is questioned. High up doesn't cut it for me, Gibson could clear this up by naming names.
