  1. Presidential nominee Ted Nugent and VP Allen West for the Republicans. -k
  2. As discussed earlier, all they needed to announce that they were reopening the investigation is that Weiner's emails had gone through Hillary's server. They spent a lot of time and resources investigating Hillary's email server and couldn't build a case worth taking to court... but you're convinced that Anthony Weiner has the silver bullet? I think that's either optimism or desperation talking. So you've got the Clinton Foundation, which is a registered and audited charity that does a massive amount of humanitarian work. And you've got the Trump Foundation, which isn't properly registered, isn't audited, and is used to issue bribes, pay legal expenses for Trump's for-profit businesses, and buy gigantic portraits of Trump. And you've decided that the Clinton Foundation are the bad guys here? -k
  3. And supposing Weiner had access to such an incriminating email in the first place, which seems unlikely at best... what do you propose it might involve? -k
  4. So you think he's going to create the 5%+ GDP growth he says he needs to offset the trillions of dollars of tax-cuts for rich-guys he wants to implement? You think his Neville Chamberlain stance on Russian expansionism is a winner? -k
  5. I just think it's astounding to think that after all the work that the FBI has already put into pursuing Hillary and couldn't build a case worth pursuing, it's extremely unlikely that a doofus like Weiner has any significant pieces left to add to the puzzle. How about you? What do you imagine is going to be on this laptop that makes Hillary a worse choice than an utter disaster like Trump? -k
  6. Ok, but how does incompetent and delusional factor into your calculations? During the last debate Trump himself told you that his fiscal plans are based on the idea that the GDP is going to grow at 5% or more. Do you really trust a guy with a track record of running his own businesses into the ground and declaring bankruptcy to create 5%+ growth? Every economist says that Trump's ideas are disastrous for the national debt. Up until a couple of months ago Republicans hated debt, but now apparently they can't get enough of it. A few months ago "soft on Russia!" was a pejorative that Republicans liked to hurl at Obama, but now that Trump has come along, his Neville Chamberlain approach towards relations with Russia is a Good Thing. Free Trade used to be in the Republican bible right next to Pro-Life and International Strength, but now protectionism is in the new Republican bible right next to Pro-Life and isolationism. What is it with you guys? What, aside from Pro-Life, does Trump have in common with anything that Republicans ever valued? You said you're going "third party pizza" this election (Evan McMullin or Gary Johnson?) but whatever your personal choice you know that you're getting either Trump or Clinton. Are you sure you want to see your country in the hands of such an unmitigated disaster as Donald Trump? -k
  7. You believe Trump is winning? None of the analysis I'm reading supports that conclusion, but I guess we'll see. I'm surprised that a guy who loves America would prefer to see it in the hands of an incompetent buffoon rather than someone who is merely corrupt. -k
  8. On the contrary. It's the Trump supporters hoping that they've won the election before everybody finds out they've got no case. -k
  9. By the time we find out that the Weiner laptop hype was much ado about nothing, the election will be long over. Are you guys ready for tomorrow's October Surprises? -k
  10. I cited The Guardian and Slate. I assume you're getting your info from Breitbart or The Donald himself-- both are one and the same, btw. Regardless, it's a fact that the reopening of the investigation isn't evidence that they've uncovered anything of significance. The idea that maybe Anthony Weiner somehow had a smoking gun and hid it on his laptop "just in case" seems like pure fantasy. The FBI has delved into this at length and couldn't build a case... but you think Anthony Weiner's laptop has the silver bullet? ok. By the time we find out for sure, the election will be long over and both of us will be long past caring. But for the record, no. Fat chance. -k
  11. Current Christian thinking is that aborted fetuses go straight to heaven. Surely that would be preferable to the likelihood that their sinful, hedonist single mothers put them on a path to sin that will send them straight to hell. -k
  12. All Wikileaks has for us so far is some slightly controversial remarks from John Podesta. Compared to Donald Trump, George W. Bush is a monument of intellect and qualification. And your namesake is voting Hillary, BTW. -k
  13. All they needed to secure a warrant was to show that the emails had been through Clinton's server. All they needed to announce that they were reopening the investigation is to show that the emails had been through Clinton's server. The line that "They must have found something YUGE to make this announcement!" is something straight from The Donald's mouth. There's no objective evidence to support that conclusion. And really, why would you, other than desperate hope, believe that after the amount of digging the FBI has already done on Hillary, think that a laptop belonging to Anthony Frickin Weiner would have anything to add to the picture? They never had a case: The FBI suppose to be non-partisan, but this is political. Real political. They don't actually have anything, but they've created the illusion that they've discovered a smoking gun, for at least until after the election. -k
  14. I gather that Bono's charity does great things for women in poverty-stricken countries. They're fully aware that Bono doesn't have a uterus. The recognition is for his work on behalf of women. Surely he's done at least as much for women as Gwen Stefani or a gymnast. So why shouldn't he receive this recognition from a womens' magazine for the work he's done on behalf of women? -k
  15. They announced they had reopened the case because Anthony Weiner's laptop had email that had been sent through the Clinton server. Period. That's all. At the time that Comey made the announcement, they didn't even have a warrant to access the laptop. Attempting to argue that there must have been something significant found on the laptop is pure BS, because they didn't know what the contents of the laptop were when they made their announcement. In a few weeks, they'll quietly announce that all they found on the laptop was more Weiner selfies and dick-pics and nothing to do with Hillary at all... and hopefully by that time American voters haven't made the biggest mistake in the 240 year existence of the republic. -k
  16. One of the things that came to light during the debacle in Cologne on New Years' Eve is that overwhelming majority of those involved in the sex assaults weren't from the Middle East at all. They were from the "Maghreb" countries-- Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. The migrants who committed these crimes weren't Syrian refugees fleeing war. They were lifestyle tourists. North African Muslims who filed BS refugee claims with Germany because they heard that everybody in Germany gets a big house and a BMW. Germany rejected over 99% of these refugee claims from "Maghreb" migrants, because they're not actually fleeing war or persecution in their homelands. And Germany politely asks them to return to their homes, and nothing happens. So Germany has millions of deadbeat Maghreb migrants who were supposed to have gone home but keep lingering anyway, because they'd discovered that between crime and defrauding Germany's generous social programs, being an illegal resident in Germany still beats being home in Morocco. So trying to blame migrant crime in Germany on war in Syria is a big fat red herring. -k
  17. And what do the emails show, Hal? That John Podesta said stuff that makes conservatives mad? That Democrats leaked stories to media contacts? Anything else you'd like to point out for us? -k
  18. I'm not sure what my travel itinerary has to do with the inane argument you're trying to make, August. "Sweden is New Jersey". Huh? Is this some kind of word-assocation game? Denmark is Mississippi, Romania is Puerto Rico, Slovakia is Guam, Croatia is blue, Portugal is butterflies? I don't get it. Is it a Rorschach test? I hold up a map Belgium and you shout out "polar bear"? Are you trying to argue that Sweden, like New Jersey, is full of crowded turnpikes because of reasons? Are you suggesting that Sweden is some sort of dystopian urban hellscape full of crime and violence, like the Baltimore we see on US crime TV shows? I don't think either of those suggestions has any factual basis, and I think the comparison you'd have us make falls flat as a result. In suggesting that perhaps Sweden is full of crowded turnpikes and urban gang violence because of social or fiscal policies, I think you've utterly failed to make the case you think you've made. To your "Sweden is New Jersey" idea, let me reply: "Kansas is Somalia!" Ha! Respond to that! -k
  19. And yet, new FBI leaks show that Comey fought tooth and nail to keep the FBI from issuing any statements regarding Trump campaign connections with Russia, or naming Russia as the source of the DNC hacks, because it would be "too political". -k
  20. What the hell does that even mean? -k
  21. Latest election news seems to be -Democrats accusing Comey of violating the Hatch Act -Trump calls for his supporters to vote twice, to fight voter fraud -Jill Stein calls for national dialogue about oppressive comedians This is not the Onion. -k
  22. Being pro-life is the litmus test for anyone who wants to contend for the Republican nomination, and the opposite is probably true for the Dems as well-- at least I can't recall any Democrat contenders ever claiming to be pro-life. If you're a one-issue voter, your vote was decided long before the parties selected their nominees. And there's no point in either side campaigning on that issue because it's preaching to the converted, and only runs the risk of scaring off independents and others who aren't one-issue voters. -k
  23. Not your circus, but these are certainly your clowns. There isn't a bigger Republican cheerleader on the forum, since Shady (PBUH) headed off to the bodybuilding supplements store in the sky. That LA Times poll has been an outlier for weeks, showing Trump winning even when every other poll had Clinton ahead by 7-12 points. I would think the Republican boosters would have learned after 2012 to not read too much into outlier polls. We'll see this week whether the new developments in the email situation make a difference. Personally I doubt the Weiner laptop will have anything damaging to Clinton. The first 33,000,000 emails didn't put her in jail, what's 650,000 more? What would a dork like Weiner have in his laptop that's of any significance anyway? Craigslist personals? Photos of his abs? Correspondence with New York tanning salons? -k
  24. As others have been pointing out, the forum frontpage is now displaying multiple status updates from the same user. That is going to be abused and needs to be changed. -k
  25. If you guys had picked a normal nominee, this might matter. If Hillary were facing a real candidate, maybe people would want to have a serious conversation about her email issues. But since you picked the worst major-party candidate in American history, voters outside the "Trump Revolution" are more concerned about keeping the senile orange clown out of office than about Hillary's shortcomings. Come back in 4 years with a real alternative for voters instead of this novelty candidate or protest candidate or whatever the hell this was supposed to be. -k
