Replacing a system that CAN work fairly for all taxpayers is much better than replacing it. Canadians do not want a two tiered system. That does not put more doctors working in the system; it only allows those with money to get get preferred service. Health care is a national concern and should be administered by the Federal government. The provinces play games; the provincial authorities recognized that our pharmacare system would be run cheaper and more fairly by the federal government; so too could our medical system. NO THANKS That is not a solution.

Our medical care is in terrible condition despite paying even higher premiums; seniors paying much higher portion of their prescription cost. Everything costs more and services are less. They even drove up the deficit despite the massive sell off of our BC assets. Where is that long needed bridge to Kelowna that was promised to be built "right away" when we got the extra gas tax????? It was Harpers support of the USA's invasion of Iraq that really turned off many people. He clinched losing the election when he favoured privatizing our health care instead of fixing the one we have. Our public healthcare and our national reputation as a fair and friendly nation are too important to the Canadian people.

We are Canadians. We are responsible for Canadian acts. How can we point at other countries and tell them to adhere to the Kyoto accord unless we do so ourselves. As for our Health Care; we have a much more effective and compassionate healthcare system here in Canada than do countries like the USA that have private health care. It is better to upgrade our Health Care than to move towards private health care. I would really like to see the Federal government take over the administration of our Healthcare system and remove control from the provincial governments that use it as a tool to pressure the feds for more money (always wanting no strings attached) The provinces have no incentive to have health care run smoothly when they can use it as a tool to pry more money from the feds..

My granddaughter was invited to meet the governor general after the Kelowna fires as she set up and organized a school bake sale to make money to go to rebuilding the trestles. She was 9 years old. Some people in the USA are happy; not too friendly to tourists. I would never live in the USA; even prior to Bush. I did used to travel into the USA frequently but haven't gone for about 5 years now. I would like to see that source. I doubt very much in the accuracy of such a finding. It is my understanding that a heroin addiction is very hard to shake. Where did you get that idea? The government doesn't guarantee most loans. It is a tax write off. However, they do make a fortune with credit cards. Look at the interest they charge compared to interest they pay on investments. We do pay; but as consumers not taxpayers. The same thing happens with stores with consumers picking up that tab for shoplifters and other fraudulent returns etc. The court systems are too slow and time consuming to use; easier to just pass on this type of losses to the consumer.
