  1. "All of the policies are the same" Really? Like what? Besides, I would contend that Bob Rae didn't really have any policies when Premier, more like seat of the pants, on the fly stuff. But what policies are the same between Bob Rae and Jack Layton?
  2. Whatever floats your boat, but the 13 million people in Ontario don't really give a crap about Saskatchewan politics.
  3. Yes, but he wasn't a Liberal when he was dicking around as Premier of Ontario and people in Ontario seem to have a long memory about those Rae days... it counts.
  4. You mean "de Nile?"
  5. From the Star. Please note that the article is "...article subject to legal complaint by The Dalton company." Yeah, I guess so. Star probe: Toronto builder siphoned $1.8M from Gravenhurst project It is an interesting article in that is opens the door on some pretty shady - but in my opinion totally usual - dealings with contractors on large infrastructure projects. And why is this news? Sure those folks in Gravenhurst are going to pay for the overcost through tax increases, thems the breaks. However, I believe that the attention paid to this story is an attempt by the Star to weave this little mess into the overall G8 Funding Fiasco. But does it achieve that lofty goal? Nope. I think the Star would be better off scrutinizing the shady dealings of developers in the GTA and not lil ol' Gravenhurst. And why is that? Because I am betting that kickbacks, shady dealings and such in the GTA alone have dollar value of far, far above the measely $1.8 million that is alleged Dalton received. However, it is an interesting story, overtly political, but insight into how it all seems to work and flow... But this is where it gets fun: WTF? LOFL!
  6. You still don't get it. Quebec is a mere province and has no standing on federal treaties with the First Nations at the national level. Quebec is a landless idea that is held in trust at the federal level in land agreements with many First Nations. If you want to see how it works, look at Nunavut. Quebec can be as easily carved up. Maybe you should learn to speak Cree...
  7. Here let me "question the flaw in your logic." Quebec doesn't actually own any land except for a few farmed out seigneuries on the St. Lawrence. The rest is all treatied lands and the Natives aren't interested in dealing with a mere province. So if there is zombie-like behaviour, guess what? It's the separatistes walking around yelling, Brains! BRAINS! BRAINS!! (cause they are deficient in that area of the skull)
  8. That is a fair game comment. I'll take you up on it. Question: why do "Black students" largely NOT continue their education past grade 9? Any ideas? Question: why DO they join gands in the first place? Any ideas? Muslim girls do OK in our education system do they not? If not, why? (please provide some sort of third party citation to back this claim. Thanks.) Puh-lease. Gawd, if we ever took this view - the weak view BTW - we would have expelled the Irish over and over again. And the Germans and Japanese. And practically everyone else... Damned Christian Lebanese!
  9. Right. It's the CBC's fault you are mistaken. Of course, no other "business" gets any sort of subsidy from "our tax money." LOFL! Little Mosque on the Prairie - International Syndication BMM Ratings for Jan 11-16 - two CBC shows, Dragon's Den and Hockey Night in Canada in the top ten for the week.
  10. Well "contrary" to Mr. Harper too, because he speculated enough to take arms length and bring in the RCMP to investigate now didn't he? You know, the CPC leader. Speculated?
  11. Just a reminder that the story by APTN affirmatively states this: I highlighted the clue part in bold so you might gain some valuable insight. I believe that this "affirmatively" stated passage from APTN is what is key here. Don't you? Or are you receiving transmissions from Rigel IV that state otherwise? Right. You know because anytime anyone is investigated for anything, they are being assigned guilt. As for Helena Guergis, that was the CPC bus she was thrown under, not Ignatieff's campaign bus. Besides, roadkill doesn't get any deader, but it is still tainted nonetheless.
  12. I wholeheartedly agree! There should be a law against children under the age of 16 from entering a church, temple, synagogue, or any other place of worship - or being subject to any sermon, preaching, snake charming or candle burning, other that for light during a power outage. Keep them out and when they are ready - at age 16 - then introduce them to all of the religions and let them make a choice as to what makes sense to them. There is no sense whatsoever inflicting the heavy stuff of religious guilt on them. Let them play on Sundays and let the parents sleep in a little.
  13. Plenty of ratings info for 'Heartland' usually half a million. But try and find ratings for jPod. You won't, because it was the excuse AFTER they moved the show around. Another one is Dragon's Den. Ultraconservative. The CPC get into government in Jan. 2006 and Dragon's Den starts up in October of the same year. Coincidence? I think not...
  14. CBC dropped 'jPod' a comedy series about 20-somethings working in the gaming industry in Vancouver based upon the book by a well known pop-culture novelist, the gay Douglas Coupland. Meanwhile the wholesome 'Heartland' out of Alberta makes the cut. Liberal-ish BC versus Ultra-ish Conservative Alberta If that isn't political influence, then nothing is...

  16. Tell me something Rue, when HASN'T taxpayers money been used for "specific political views?" Cause, really, that is the question isn't it? Whenever there is a public gathering, there will those there to express their views, which are almost always political on one form or another. Hardly preventable, regardless of who is kicking into the kitty.
  17. Are you asking a question?
  18. Foot, meet mouth:
  19. Which is all for the RCMP to figure out. If they do find some sort of grift going on, well, good thing Mr. Harper didn't step in it.
  20. Bullshit. Carson is being investigated by the RCMP for a reason, and it ain't a saintly one. No one - including me nor Ignatieff - has convicted him of anything, but his dealings appear shady enough for Mr. Harper to ask the RCMP to investigate. Those are all the facts you - and our dear OP - need concern yourself with.
  21. It's parka based. One coat to rule them all.
  22. Wow, you really missed the mark on that shot didn't you soldier. Do you want to know what Bruce Carson is of interest? Here's why: Former Harper advisor had deal with escort for First Nations water contracts: document Ignatieff is "saying" anything like that. This is what he referring to: A former senior advisor to the current sitting Conservative PM lobbies Indian Affairs for a contract that will benefit his fiance. What sort of 'rehabilitation' to you see here exactly? Seems like the fraudster is still playing the same grift. Get it? It has nothing to do with his former felonies other than they point to his current shady deals and back room lobbying. And apparently he ain't quite reformed yet, that is what this is an issue. It is not like they made a big deal out of him when he wasn't doing anything shady, it was afterward, when scrutiny was applied that his behavior became suspect and then came to the attention of Ignatieff. Oh wait. I guess Harper only shows compassion is alien to him - since he referred everything to be investigated by the RCMP. Do you get it yet Betsy? Do you follow now? Have you taken a clue yet?
  23. Is that what you would do with the Federal Government Superannuation Fund TimG? Claw it back? How about the Canadian Forces Superannuation Fund - you know, pensions for soldiers. Claw that back too?
