  1. So, in other words, you didn't comprehend the article?
  2. Mind you, it was against the terrible Vikings, but his stats were decent yesterday: 10/15, 66% for 202 yards including a 42 yarder. Seriously, his passing is improving. Over the past 5 games he is getting better.
  3. OK, then please cite where the NHL or CFL sponsors "community programs" for schools in Toronto.
  4. So essentially what you are saying is that no newspaper should ever discuss layoffs in any other economic sector because they might become "Hypocrits Beyond Compare?"
  5. So what's your take here, do you understand English or not? "them" aren't advocating anything, Doug Ford is. So do you believe that "community programs" in schools should be sponsored by a particular brand of "fighting sport?"
  6. Well that is pretty obvious, since they are a major media outlet. They have to get the "news" to their readership, which is a subject that as been amply covered here at MLW. Do a search. However, comparing their staff cuts to the staff/service cuts at the City is over-reaching far enough to cause an OP faceplant.
  7. Nice rant bro. And comparing UFC with hockey is, well, a joke.
  8. Doug Ford suggests schools explore UFC-linked program Of course this story isn't about Doug Ford circulating "a brochure touting an initiative called UFC Community Works" in the same week that bullying has been an important topic of interest, It is all about the Star and their dispute with Doug's bro, the Mayor. At least I am sure Doug would prefer it be about that. But it isn't and now Doug has stepped in it again now looking like a complete idiot.
  9. Intake 6 million Jewish people from where exactly?
  10. Well that isn't the point now is it? Blueblood seems to think there are "not enough CEO's in the market place" so even you disagree with him. Not only are there more than enough, there are also many waiting in the wings for their chance. And when we are talking about blueblood's economic principles of lo/hi wages, and the "very intense competition for the best CEOs" (thereby suggesting a higher compensation rate) how does one twist their world around enough to justify the hi-pay CEO's of those banks and companies that received bail-out funds all the while not interupting their lucrative bonuses?
  11. And prisons. Oh, and workhouses too. The late 19th century had a lot going for it.
  12. Puh-lease. For every company that needs a CEO, has one. For every CEO in the world, there are many waiting and willing to take their place. This usually happens when a CEO vacates their position. CEO's are not some rare commodity on the market and not all CEO's make decisions "worth millions of dollars." No, they get paid as much as the board of directors believe they can afford.
  13. colour honour all work fine when I selected English (Canada) as the default language in the Chrome spellchecker. Options > Under the Hood > Web Content > Languages and spellchecker settings
  14. Well sure and this is all explained through minimum wage legislation and million dollar CEO bonuses.
  15. By "old spunkers" you mean wiser and more mature right?
  16. And exactly how would PM Harper do a "Lord Elgin." Apologize for Saint-Eustache perhaps?
  17. It's a tricky question. From the OP: Which appears in the story after this line: I have no problem with measures - as openly negotiated as possible - that strengthen borders and improve commerce. I also have no problem with designated US police operating in Canada in conjunction with Canadian police where the crime/criminal being investigated also breaks Canadian law. IOW, no bounty hunting, no retrieving criminals to be executed, etc.
  18. If this were true, then land claims wouldn't be settled at all. So there are two parties involved as everyone knows, would you like try and answer the question again? This time, try and make sense. Which reminds me of the brilliance of this fellow: Carnac The Magnificent. Eh, Johhny did it first dude.
  19. Sure, hence I asked you how it had all worked out for the Lubicon Cree. Or how about those Mohawks over a small tract of land adjacent to their reserve. How did this land negotiations go? The problem is, with the current co-dependent relationship that is currently mired in an overwhelming bureaucracy, land claims crawl. Sure, but you can bet they are looking at how giving up mineral rights is working for the Attawapiskat FN. Might not be the way to go eh? What farmers and outfits are you referring to?
  20. I use Google almost exclusively and yes, it is starting to get annoying with all the new "features" and "enhancements." One I especially loathe is the suggestions on the search while I am typing in the terms. It is pain to have to turn features off when they were given without me asking for them in the first place. But compared to everything else they have, I'll turn stuff off. I am an Android, Google Docs, gmail and now Chrome user. Have you tried Internet Explorer 9 yet? I installed the 64 bit version the other day and after about 30 minutes I immediately installed Chrome. IE9 blows!
  21. Bummer. I celebrate practically everything. Do you have kids yet?
  22. People can't comprehend of billions in any practical way, but $60,000 is more appreciable as a here and now concept. You can look at as many stars as you want, but the sun, well the sun is for worshipin' Ironically there were likely billions of blades of grass... And, so I've been told, 'if you fake it til you make it' then one day any person can grow up and be rich off government-bailout-management-bonus-money too. Thus it helps to start acting like one I suppose. At the very least, one ought to adopt that attitude un-thinkingly.
