  1. Not only that, but guess which sector keeps bringing it up, 2 weeks after the protesters were removed? They don't know what the message was, but they keep on talking about it. Irony more delicious than home-made Greek baklava.
  2. .UFC 139 medical suspensions and injuries: 'Hendo' and 'Shogun' each get 180-day fight freezes UFC 139, November 19th: 12 fights on the card, 24 fighters - 12 medically suspended due to injury. Uh, that's 50% injured. Now, seriously, do you think the NHL has a 50% injury rate? That is in 12 games between two teams of 20 players each for 480 players, do you believe there were 240 players injured? Gimme a break.
  3. . The argument is right there in the OP son. Did you miss it? Again?
  4. Northern football son. Yeah, the Lions play under a dome, but if that is the worse thing about them, but they still have to play outdoors in the north too.
  5. Yeah, no kidding. Hey, weren't those protesters in Tunisia and Egypt using laptops and blackberries?
  6. Well, I can't disagree with that strategy. But will it happen. A two goal lead in hockey is comfortable enough for the team to start to cheat and play sloppy and the cons only have a two goal lead. Then again, the libs are playing the trap in the neutral zone...
  7. I meant that in the lightest sense possible, not directed to you or anything. It could be a massage, dancers, cocaine hooker parties, etc. Fact is, politicians seem to get in their fair share as a group, not as an ideology.
  8. Very interesting. The story I read in the Edmonton Sun referenced in my post here has a quote from the story saying that he wasn't given a 24 hr suspension. Alas, the story now appears to have had edits. Mind you, it was from yesterday.
  9. Well I think when you look around and sea full of iceburgs and sinking ships, one believes in the right direction if one's ship is still afloat. In other words, it could be a heckava lot worse.
  10. There, fixed it for you oh Great Carnac the Magnificent!
  11. Well, 84,600 results and you still haven't found how the mysterious "extinguishment clause" is causing the Indians to impede land claims settlements? And here I thought you understood the fundamental issue of the land claims process in Canada. Surrender and Certainty - Settling Comprehensive Land Claims - Parliament of Canada (emphasis is mine)
  12. That is neither here nor there because the article was misquoted. It doesn't say that Canadians are moving to the right, it says that Canada is going in the right direction.
  13. If there was evidence he was impaired, why wasn't his car license suspended for 24 hours? I haven't read anything where he was convicted of DUI. Just that he refused to blow. If he wants to challenge a law by refusing to participate in it, that is his right. You should be thankful for that. If it turns out he refused to blow because he wished to challenge the grounds upon which the request was made then he has my support. There is no plurality here, this is a single person. Not like the Prime Minister or something. You are free to believe as you wish. Thank God he wasn't DUI. Maybe, maybe not.
  14. It working out great, with the largest manufacturing output and wealthiest economy in Canada, and Quebec second, there are no worries. But more opportunity in Ontario, where most people flock too. Plus, our weather is better. I don't get this "why do you easterners hate it when" BS. By and large, easterners loveit when people from all over Canada make it big time. Not only does it increase the wealth of the country, put more money into public coffers, but it gives something for the traders on Bay street to acquire when they get bored.
  15. Why do you say "Shwa would rarther see any team but Detroit?" Do you have some evidence of some anti-Lion bias I am supposed to have and, if you do, could you link to it so I can clarify for you? Thanks!
  16. I am still waiting for you to come up with the proof that the NHL, CFL, CBA or any other sporting body has "community programs" to help build character in Toronto school children. Did you come up with anything yet? Nah, of course you didn't. Maybe you could see if the WWF has something in the works? But that is beside the point. Hockey is not the same type of sport as UFC and linking them in this way, after the Premier just made anti-bullying a priority is disengenuous on your part.
  17. My msitake. I was unaware that Peter Goldring had killed someone. Wait. He didn't. Was there any indication that he was drunk driving? So it is back to how this might hurt the cons and, since they got a majority govt. after the Jaffer and Guergis fiasco, I doubt this will put a dent in their govt. Maybe he is just pushing the envelope:
  18. So what's your point in relation to the OP? Do you actually have one?
  19. Based on the number of participants and the nature of the sport, the injury rate in UFC is much higher than hockey, likey to the point of no compare. No, but they have died in MMA and that is with a much better thing to compare it to. And I don't think anyone is going to be using the schools to promote MMA right after the Premier announced anti-bullying legislation either. Also, since UFC has only been around since 1993 and hockey has been around for over 150 years, give UFC time.
  20. It is a huge red-herring and every time I hear it, I hear sheer ignorance. Those making the argument are usually completely unaware that half of the Aboriginal population live in urban areas. Reserve populations account for about 1/3. Oh, lookit, I can make a cite: Aboriginal peoples of Canada: A demographic profile
  21. That is the "argument" right there. One could say that they receive no money from the govt., but certainly they benefit heavily from government funding of practically everything in Canada including all those socialist lefty things like health care, roads, airports, business subsidies, etc. You righties have a strange way of understanding English. Did you just get off the plane?
  22. Ah, slight correction there Bryan. Nowhere in the article does it say anyone is "moving to the right." It only says that a certain percentage believe Canada is moving in the right direction. This clearly does not refer to political affiliation. You aren't intentionally misprepresenting the news story are you? That being said, we are doing OK. I would prefer a minority con government, but the LPC is in no position to do anything and the NDP, well, they're the NDP...
