Al Gore getting loonier by the day
Montgomery Burns replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
BubberMiley: Bin Laden never attacked the US. Bush (along with those Evil Zionists) really attacked the US. There is no Islamic terrorism. None! Just like there were communists. None whatsoever! If only Bush had offered the Jihadists a boquet of daisies (organic daisies of course), held hands with the terrorists and sang Kumbaya....the US people would have been perfectly safe. By gutting the military and intelligence services and instituting record increases in taxation. Seems that the USA's record on the enviroment is nearly twice as good as ours. But so what? We did sign Kyoto and that's all that matters; ergo, we are morally superior. How about some examples instead of the typical emotional child-like hysteria? I don't recall Bush attacking that compound in Waco, nor do I recall Bush sending in armed lawmen to take a Cuban boy out of the hands of his relatives and sending the little boy back to the brutal Castro regime. Can I list the numbers of criminals convictions in the Clinton presidency versus the Bush presidency? Can I, pretty please? Posse Comitatus Act. Read up on what this Act says instead of regurgitating pablum from the NY Times. But I suspect that if Vancouver had a disaster, you would claim that the Mayor and Premier would not know what is best to handle the situation, instead a bureaucrat from Ottawa would know better. What are you smoking? The US economy is roaring, their unemployment rate is 4.9%, much better than under the Clinton years, GDP growth is fantastic--again much better than the Clinton years, and the US has liberated over 50 million Muslims from brutal tyranny. What did you think of those 2 recent polls by ABC and the BBC? -
Al Gore getting loonier by the day
Montgomery Burns replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Clearly, although Gore's phrasing was clumsy (and perhaps self-serving), he was not claiming that he "invented" the Internet (in the sense of having designed or implemented it), but that he was responsible, in an economic and legislative sense, for fostering the development the technology that we now know as the Internet. To claim that Gore was seriously trying to take credit for the "invention" of the Internet is, frankly, just silly political posturing that arose out of a close presidential campaign. I hate to burst the bubble of that little cocoon you live in, but you are arguing semantics. Although Gore did not use the phrase "invent", he did say, on CNN to Wolf Blitzer--Transcript: -
Your not allowed to kill your kids?
Montgomery Burns replied to geoffrey's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yaro: No, the ultimate act of selfishness is killing someone (like Houle did if you had read the article) just because they are an "inconvenience". But then again the modern liberal has never shied away from killing humans who are an inconvenience to them. Like the 100,000 babies that are killed annually in Canada, the nearly 1 million killed annually in the US, and of course, the hundreds of millions of innocents killed by leftist tyrants in the 20th Century. And why would they shy away from killing them? They (liberals) think they are God and they hold the power of life over the rest of the peons in society. -
Source: Canwest Gore keeps on getting more loco. The guy even gives speeches for the radical Moveon.org (of Bush=Hiltler infamy) group. It is scary to think of the downfall of the US (it surely would have happened), if Gore had been able to win his own state in 2000 and win the Presidency.

My Goodness, the world hasn't come to an end!
Montgomery Burns replied to JMH's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I love CBC aswell. I was refering to (local) Eastern journalists I watched (on sattelite) as the numbers came in BullShit. I flipped through all of the various outlets here and no one was showing bias towards any party or candidate. Feel free to post something to back this up, otherwise I'll just assume it is the typical lies of bias Calm down. Everything will be okay, as long as you can duck those military checkpoints that Harper has set up in our cities. Btw, for $4.87 you can order this beautiful poster that will cheer you up whenever you are feeling -
My Goodness, the world hasn't come to an end!
Montgomery Burns replied to JMH's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
JMH: No doubt. Remember all their glum faces when Saddam was dragged out of that hole in the ground? The CBC is a radical leftwing news source. When they were on strike, the website they created (cbcunclocked.com) was a treasure trove of info into the mindset of the CBC. Links to radicals like Michael Moore and Ted Rall, and one reporter from Regina gave her Gold Star Of The Day to Kanye West "for telling the world what we already knew; George Bush hates black people". Incredibly they had the gall to announce on their homepage that they were dedicated to fair and balanced reporting. Yeah right. Fox News, they are not. From cropped cartoons of Harper giving a Nazi salute to enviromental fearmonger David Suzuki endorsing a NDP candidate (a violation of the CBC rules), the CBC is anti-American, Israel, business, and free markets. They are pro-UN, displaced Arabian (Palestinian), huge govt, greedy socialists, they CBC continues to be an embarrassment to Canada. Would you dare to report anything negative about the Liberal Party, knowing that you probably just kissed your chance of being Governor General good-bye? There is no reason for a free society to have state-run TV. That is for dictatorships and banana republics. -
The Globe and mail right or left wing?
Montgomery Burns replied to compaq905's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The G&M is unquestionably leftwing. One of the top guns in the Ontario Liberal Party is a lobbyist for Bell Globemedia, which own the G&M and the CTV. Look at the G&M's limp endorsement for the Conservatives. Basically, they said that even though the Liberal Party was fantastic and the CP sucks, it is probably time for a change. Cartoons of G&M staff burning bibles in their offices, columnists calling born-again Christians "undesirable", etc. Five alarm front-page headlines when Martin got a slight bump in the polls for Ontario (a 5 pt spike), front-page headlines about Harper's image problem (he doesn't smile enough), while buried in the paper the results of a poll saying that Martin was the most distrusted of the national leaders. Just look at the last week of the campaign. Martin was shrieking about abortion, and the media went right along with him. They refused to report what the Canadian public feels, only what they feel. And the Canadian public does not support unlimited late-term abortions where a baby can be aborted as it is coming out of the mother's canal. Hiring a couple of moderates like Ibbitson does not make a paper right-leaning. Don't worry too much about what your teachers tell you. Most of them are radical leftists. I figure the professors at the U of S were about 5% conservative, 25% liberal, and 70% were outright Marxists. I was taught in school that Canada burnt down the White House, not the British. I was taught that the National Socialist Hitler was a rightwinger, an absolutely astounding assumption. -
Pedophiles waiting in line....
Montgomery Burns replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The pedos who are nabbed at perverted-justice.com have come on to young girls and boys. The communist organization, ACLU, has defended the NAMBLA sickos. The Conservatives wanted Canada's age of consent to be upped to 16 y/o from 14 y/o, but the Liberals refused. -
Harper's Foreign Policy ?
Montgomery Burns replied to Concerned's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
"...Clearly, in order to fool all the people all the time and to set US up for that most profitable of all political rackets, namely war, control and domination of the press, as well as all elements of the American media, is absolutely vital in a nation that once was characterized as being so abundantly wealthy in individual freedom. Such a nation would quickly recognize tyranny and be readily critical of any and all threats to its freedoms. Just as the first Nazi regime initially launched itself by securing a vital propaganda tool, think of the smashing advantage and experience the current Nazi regime has over the first via the total power of the Zionist media.... ...the Hitler regime was just a dry run for the real thing: the unending Nazi regime headed by members of the Bush and Clinton crime families. Grandpa Bush, Prescott, was Hitler's chief financier. He siphoned off the remaining Nazi Union Banking funds to launch the Bush family wealth. And yet more Nazi funding and assets were used and transferred to create the "American" CIA. Nazi intelligence agency operatives transferred under Grandpa Bush to the CIA launched many covert operations in South America with the intent of giving the Reich a new start in this hemisphere..." This is ridiculous. You know, extremisits have no right to debate policy. Extreme left, extreme right...you are all the same. I am not a bug Bush fan, but you know what? He has done some good things and he has helped the people in Iraq out a lot, regardless of what the extreme communist left might think. I do not believe for one minute the ridiculous stuff you are passing off as "truth"... You're correct. Prescott Bush owned one share in a bank that was owned by an early financial supporter of Hitler. That's it. From there, the radical left took it into full-blown conspiracy mode. Also, they don't mention that liberal icon Averell Harriman had 3991 shares of the same bank. -
Normanchateau: You've got to be kidding. It's the Democrats who act like a bunch of angry little kids while the public views the Republicans as the grownups.

I am going to vote NDP tomorrow
Montgomery Burns replied to Rovik's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If I was a leftwinger, I would vote for the NDP too. The Liberal Party is dishonest, corrupt, arrogant, and in major debt. Like Layton has been saying, they need to go away for a while and get their act together. -
"Where's my buddy, Bono?" -- Paul Martin
-
I think the Ipsos-Reid is more accurate. I believe the Conservatives have about a 10 point lead. I saw a Martin rally on CPAC yesterday and all the people standing behind him looked glum for much of his speech. Harper's rallies have been enthusiastic and boisterous while attracting 1000, 1200, 1400, and 1500 people. The Conservative base is motivated; I don't think one can say that about the Liberal base. Layton has conceded that the Conservatives are going to win. These parties do their own internal polling; they know what's going on. The only question is whether is will be a minority or majority victory.

If I have to pick off your list, I would pick #2 first (another financial scandal and Goodale refused to do the traditional thing--he refused to step aside while the investigation was going on), then #3. The military ad created sympathy for Harper, much like the fake Rathergate memos created sympathy for Bush. Martin's stammering flip-flops on whether he did or did not approve the ad was pathetic. I would have liked to have seen a #4--Scott Reid's "beer and popcorn" remark was deeply insulting to the public. And later in the day, John Duffy went on CTV's Question Period and defended Reid's remark. Did the Chretien Liberals sabatoge the Martin campaign? Warren Kinsella's "musings" read like a Tory website and Sheila Copp's op-eds have been anti-Martin. It is surprising that the Liberals are in the high 20s. They have looked like amateurs compared to the CP.

Why we must prevent Harper from becoming PM
Montgomery Burns replied to emailforcanada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yeah, that's worked out so well for the Americans. Indeed it has. Hundreds of millions of Eastern Europeans liberated, in great part, by Ronald Reagan. Over 50 million Muslims recently liberated, in great part, by President Bush. Not too shabby. -
I am going to vote Conservative tomorrow
Montgomery Burns replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I already voted--Conservative--at an advance poll. I went last Saturday at suppertime and surprisingly, there was a line up of about 8-10 people. I have a feeling there will be a good voter turnout this election--which bodes well for the CP. -
WHAT'S BEHIND THIS FRANTIC DESPERATION?
Montgomery Burns replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes it has begun. The Dark Master Karl Rove personally told me that the first thing he was going to do was disable Eureka's Sent Messages box at Mapleleafweb.com *evil laugh* -
This is nothing new. The right is always forced to deal with a hostile leftwing MSM.

WHAT'S BEHIND THIS FRANTIC DESPERATION?
Montgomery Burns replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Betsy: I've heard rumors about that too. I don't know if it is true but it certainly seems possible. The Liberal Party appears to be corrupt to the core (and arrogant). Makes one wonder if the paper shredders are working overtime... Paul "I didn't know nuttin" Martin has seen the internal polls done by his campaign and he knows he is in trouble. That's why he is calling for NDP "progressives" and that is why he dropped the A Bomb (Abortion). -
Nothing to fear but fear itself
Montgomery Burns replied to JMH's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Unfortunately, it seems that many of the conservative candidates are far from socially liberal: G&M article I particularly like this quote: Wow. belittling homosexuals AND women at the same time. There's social progress for you. I think it is time for a change to a FISCALLY conservative gov't, however, many Canadians are afraid of the social conservatism baggage that appears to be coming along for the ride. What's your take on the highly controversial (and a thief) Svend Robinson standing right beside Jack Layton today at their rally in BC? -
Which Party do you most agree with?
Montgomery Burns replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Just one note: I never saw an answer I liked for International Aid, like when all the bills are paid its OK. Same here. I voted for the one I disliked the least. -
Toronto Star and Globe & Mail front page headlines from yesterday: The Fight over Ontario: Sex, rights and religion. City fears projects at risk. Tory win could threaten funding deals. Housing, TTC, daycare among concerns. Is religious right poised to set Harper’s agenda? Some fear freedoms to be stripped. Yep. The MSM is not biased for liberals.

Internet and this Election
Montgomery Burns replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
NDPers live in a utopian fantasy world where only they are smart enough to redistribute other people's hard earned wealth so as to end poverty, suffering and discrimination. You can't really expect them to have any quality troll abilities. They're too busy being themselves.
