  1. Good example. What a costly disaster. (Imagine if Disney had got it right... Eddie Murphy would be, uh, Indiana Jones.) ===== Modern Disney? "Put a chick in it. Make her gay!"
  2. Bump. I think that people in Canada get along.
  3. China and India, I'm less sure.
  4. 1. Government (federal/state) debt becomes a Ponzi scheme. 2. Racial/woke people and normal people get into a stupid argument. 3. Poor people want more from rich people. ===== I reckon that the US will manage all these current complaints.
  5. Leftist English-Canadians -typically from Ontario- want to show that they're not American. I recommend that they look at the monetary history of our two countries. ===== The Bank of Canada was created in 1935. Hamilton, whatta guy!
  6. Tim Horton was once known aa a hockey player. In Canada, he is now known for coffee/donuts. ==== Mr Beast reminds me of Eddie Shack.
  7. Go to the end, 2:08:40 or so. This kiss makes plain what modern Canada is .
  8. I'm clueless about Chilean politics. I was surprised to see how small the space was, where Allende died. In federal Canada, we have a large space in front of our parliament.
  9. Lester Pearson's wife famously said that behind every famous man, is a surprised woman. In my experience, behind every successful man, is a supportive woman. I disagree with Jordan Peterson.
  10. Land? Life is a process.
  11. Correct. I agree. We Canadians own a large part of this world. I think that we should own the oceans too. We are renting the world to ourselves. I reckon that we should rent the oceans too.
  12. Sharkman, thanks. === In 1973, Nixon and Kissinger caused a coup in Chile. Pinochet became president. Curious, years later, I went to Chile. The space is small.
  13. Survive? No doubt. As I've often argued on this forum: we people in this part of northern America: we get along.
  14. True. But like Norway, we in Canada have our own currency. ==== Look at financial economic history: Our Canadian banks/paper is good. American paper?
  15. There are 300 million of you - but less of us. Like an elephant, you take the bed. How about Shirley Valentine? I speak of winter - and the next you know, we're speaking of Colorado, Vermont. Clueless.
  16. This is a result of the federal Liberal government since 2015. We Canadians do not think like this.
  17. I agree. Th US dollar is the reserve currency of private banks around the world. But Canadian banks have their own currency.
  18. Henry Kissinger is dead. We cannot blame him for this change of government in South America.
  19. Once again: We in Canada have solid paper - everyone around the world knows about a Canadian dollar. What happens if the US dollar goes south?
  20. Agreed. Our Canadian federal government would become a Ponzi scheme. ==== The Bank of Canada and the governments of Quebec, Alberta would oppose. As usual.
  21. To return to my OP, what about Canada if the US dollar goes sideways.
  22. We? The Canadian government will live forever. Imagine if you could live forever. Heck. Do your kids borrow?
  23. Harper reduced our federal debt to GDP ratio to 40%. Fergawdsakes why? Provincial debt? How do you calculate Hydro-Quebec's assets? And the Quebec nest egg? The Caisse - how do you include that? ==== The US? It has Social Security. Millions of Americans around the world expect their check, each month. As the Chinese say: Iron Rice Bowl Is Norway really "rich"? ====== IMHO, there is a huge misunderstanding of wealth - real vs nominal.
  24. They? I do not view Americans as an enemy. And to me, the War of 1812 was a minor skirmish among the various battles between 1789-1815. You know. The Napoleonic Wars Like the Somme or Dieppe between 1914-1945. Do you know of the Thirty Years War? 1618-1648. ==== We Canadians? We get along.
