Are Nfld and Quebec Sustainable?

Bulgaria. The Bulgarian language. For about 500 years, these people lived under the Turks - yet they survived. Stubborn is maybe the definition of sustainable. -
Are Nfld and Quebec Sustainable?

Many people in the West have similar thoughts. -
When we in Canada vote, we should dip our thumb in purple ink. It shows we voted. And Canada is a civilised country. === You Americans have complicated ballots with many names. In Canada, it is a simple X beside one name.

IMHO, these recent events since March 2022 could have been avoided. So many young men have died for no reason. Looking back, this so-called occupation of Crimea in 2014 could have been avoided. ===== IMHO, what is happening now in the 2024s reminds of the nonsense of the 1910s. Elites are clueless.

The essence of populism and its popular impact
August1991 replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
In Canada, some of us are French. Others Catholic. We get along. We Canadians have discovered a way for different people to pursue their own interest - yet create a civilised society for all. -
Make no mistake. This is Putin's objective. Kinda sad. Western Ukraine - the remnants of the Austrian-Hungarian society - are now lost.

AG, you entirely miss my points: Verification, Shaming, Signal. Let me start last first. 1. A purple thumb means that I live in a democracy. (A Rolex shows I'm rich.) 2. You can't vote twice. 3. Shame? I am proud to live in a democracy.
-
In Canada, it is difficult to vote twice. (We vote for one person, eh?) In America, your ballot is like our census form.
-
This is not an issue in Canada but I think Poilievre should defend it. When we vote in a federal election in Canada, We should be tattooed When a person votes in a democracy, they should be proud.

1. The United Nations (and the Security Council) is not a world supreme court, decider of world affairs. 2. In 1815, Europe defeated Napoleon and created a system of peace. 3. It all fell apart in summer 1914. 3. In 1945, we defeated Hitler and created a new system of peace. 4. In 1991, this system of peace fell apart.

Respect. In French, there is only tu and vous. In Japanese and most Asian languages, there are many, many more. ==== The Spanish version is best- easy to understand for English-speakers, in reference to the King of England. "He would like to sit down?"

Call me an optimist: -Boeing engineers will continue to build really good airplanes -I reckon Americans will somehow figure out how to sustain their generous federal pay-as-you-go social security system. The US Constitution has survived many knots. -Russians will somehow survive.

You cannot control your height - or your skin colour. You can control your weight size, or with modern surgery - your boob size. Why are women so obsessive about the height of men?

I know nothing about the Japanese bond market. But to my knowledge, the Japanese government can still sell bonds. Why? It can tax. Foreigners buy US federal government bonds because they trust in the power of the government to tax. Have you seen what is happening in Ukraine? Russia? Young men are running away

IMHO, this is a disaster of modern diplomacy. We in Canada pay taxes precisely to avoid such situations. Our diplomats are not wise. ==== This war in Ukraine should never have occurred. Far too many have died for no reason. Worse: There is a potential for far worse.
