  1. This is absolutley hilarious Folllow the bouncing xenoball
  2. Again Scary All parties and econimists agree on the numbers I will concede to cutting down numbers when economic times do not warrant it such as now when jobs have been lost but will never agree to closing our doors to future Canadians a la Lou "I hate foreigners" Dobbs I agree with Harper on this front - apparently the crimson on the nape of your neck hasn't contaminated the core of your party yet - see link http://en.epochtimes.com/n2/canada/stephen...cally-4026.html
  3. Doubtful - and it would take all three by the looks of things to cooperate in governing but we shall see this eve
  4. No - Canadians have reached the point where catalyst party would be punished Budget 2010 - April 2010 election at the latest
  5. Ouuuccccchhhhhhhhhh Man we were all immigrants at one time or another unless posters are indigineous This thread should probably be more aptly titled the difference between a liberal and a conservative We need a quarter of a million new Canadians every year to maintain our growing economy as the population growth in Canada is not adequate so there may be an opportunity to decrease numbers during slow times and increase it during high growth but seedy underside of racism seems to rule on this thread - scary!
  6. You miss the point Throughout history nobody complained when west was in need and opened our wallets to help A recent as 2003 when drought hit west a bales on rails campaign was initiated in NB to send millions of dollars of hay via train to Sk and Ab to help their farmers feed their livestock - and we were proud to do so I understand that there is animosity from West on Trudeau's NEP but get pissed when they talk about us as if we are one block of anti-Alberta gun hating long haired marijuana smokin agnostic nudists from the east
  7. First part - take-off of David Spade skit on SNL Second part - Exactly, enough minorities Lets hope a suitable leader (none of the above) comes forward Con or Lib - I don't care - I just want a majority next time around with a socially progressive fiscally conservative leader at the helm
  8. And payment for the crops we sent you in the thrities and forties when you were going through droughts - oh wait we didn't ask for payment and it was all sent out of generosity and concern for our fellow Canadians and payment for the billions we forwarded the west to develop your oil in the fifties -oh wait all Canadians supported helping the west develop their resources and nobody ever asked for payback and when your non-renewable resource dries up thirty to fifty years from now and you need Canada's social safety net as your oil towns collapse, we will again not expect anything in return You may have targetted by Trudeaus energy policy but don't misconstrue this as everybody in the east not appreciating the west - we absoultely do . The problem is when you whine you are no better than Quebec so either quit your pissing and moaning and get in the boat and paddle with the rest of us or float (on your own) Just so you don't feel like a village people cowboy with a target on your back the same pissing and moaning message goes for Duceppe and PQ
  9. Harper - 3 strikes and you are out - baaaaah-bye Dion - nice try but shouldn't ever have been at the plate - baaaaah-bye Layton - 3 strikes but playing with the lights out - baaaah-bye Duceppe - should not be allowed at the plate - baaah-bye May - deserves another shot though next time watch the message - your team deserves it Bring us a real leader that we can follow - a fiscally conservative socially progressive leader that represents the majority view and has vision - for either major party - and lets get back to majority rule
  10. And the winning numbers are, drumroll please; Cons - 134 Libs - 88 Bloq - 49 NDP - 35 Ind - 2
  11. They all have their snout in the trough Senator Fortier, David Emmerson and all those political appointments made by Harper (40 at once, 40!!!) make him guilty of the same patronage that he chastised the Liberals for while Opp Leader http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...cialNewTory2006 http://www.canada.com/topics/news/politics...318&k=86394 http://www.canada.com/topics/news/politics...6b6&k=28765 Policy differences I can respect but Idiotic and naive claims that one is more ethical than the other or even better the old ``they were worse than we are ``argument is pathetic Our political system has inherent conflicts of interest and opportunites for abuse of power - Every party has used it to their advantage and will continue to do so
  12. You partisans still don`t get it THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. PERIOD. Conservative, Liberal, NDP, etc.... all have a certain percentage of dishonest people in their party and once in power that percentage will screw you eventually Absolute power corrupts absolutely - Lord Acton
  13. They will all do and say what they think sells based on socio-demographic analysis and polling. And we as voters respond or they wouldn`t keep doing it. Negative ads are the same. All parties pooh-pooh them then turnaround and use them. Go with the flow - all parties are condescending and treat us as sheep. None is better except maybe Elizabeth May and that is only because of her recent arrival she hasn`t had time to be as tainted as the others.
  14. Ashfield is a good guy as well and very down to earth Scott had alot of personal relationships as well Sign war is close from what I can see but I think CPC in a squaker Also hear Madawaske-Restigouche could go CPC
  15. The problem also arises with the carrot and stick approach with the stick being negative ads and fear mongering while the carrot is often poor public policy but good politics(i.e. CPC cuts to consumption(read GST) tax instead of personal or corporate; or NDPéLib huge spending promises that we can`t afford in this economic climate) I guess it is better than all other systems and it could be worse, much worse
  16. Just watching a psychic òn CBC read tarot cards on the election She sees a majority this or next election, but within a year, and a spiritual and compassionate government will be elected that will improve Canadas reputation in the world - but no mention of Bob Rae moving to the CPC Hmmm....she had me up til then
  17. Bob Rae in the CPC This is funny and could be the greatest kept secret in politics in our lifetime Errr...maybe not
  18. Yes...a herd of socio-demographics cattle to be corralled into various pens with carrots on a stick or a cattle prod depending on our wants, needs and percentage chance of responding to each stimuli What...me a pessimist
  19. At least ours are not state run and tools of the leader to use at his disposal a la Putin in a farcical democracy ... wait a sec I have noticed that CBC is unusually easy on Harper this election
  20. You are obviously joking or drinking the kool-aid You are obviously a blind partisan or just plain mis-informed As a fiscal conservative I have supported both parties but to say Harper is cleaning up Martins mess is a little insincere Martin left a 12 B surplus and Harper, while having the biggest spending government in history of our country has allowed it to dwindle so we are now struggling to baslance our budget He makes stupid consumption tax cuts (GST) in order to buy votes instead of putting it back into my pockdet and that of my companies with income and corporater tax cuts Don`t get me wrong I hope he gets it right and may even vote for him but to put him or Flaherty in a class with Martin on fiscal prudence is like putting Stephane Dion up against John Crosby as a communicator in english Here is an excerpt from the infamous 95 budget that should make all fiscal conservatives proud “In short, overall departmental spending will be cut by almost 19% in just three years. And let me emphasize, these are not the phony cuts we saw so often in the past--measures that pretended to define a slower rate of increase in spending as actual cuts. These are real cuts in real dollars. “Over the next three fiscal years, this budget will deliver cumulative savings of $29 billion, of which $25.3 billion are expenditure cuts. This is by far the largest set of actions in any Canadian budget since demobilization after the Second World War. . . By 1996-97, we will have reduced program spending from $120 billion in 1993-94 to under $108 billion. Relative to the size of our economy, program spending will be lower in 1996–97 than at any time since 1951.” Also see link to Harpers biggest cheerleader from the last election and what he eventually said about Harper and Flaherty being the biggest of the big spenders http://andrewcoyne.com/columns/2007/03/fla...ig-spenders.php
  21. Just a ploy to mobilize his supporters as he has been preaching that he is the only vote that can stop Harper He is reinforcing that scaremongering tactic and using it to motivate his vote by piling on the majority fear All seperatists are a waste of space and should not be allowed to represent Canadians in the comons Only in canada eh - pity!!!
  22. Excuse me - the Green Shift is one of the most ill-conceived political initiatives in the history of our great country and might be good policy but is terrible and incompetent politics a la Martin calling an enquiry on ... go figure...his own party. Harper is the expert at poor policy and good politics similar to his hero Jean Chretien i.e. GST cuts are great politics and serves to woo voters but cutting consumption taxes is a horrible policy...put the money in my pocket next time Green Shift is good policy (although implementation should be phased in while in present economic situation) but terrible politics and is being communicated in a comical fashion by a confusing leader
  23. LIbs at 22 - Is that based on Libs holding Egmont, Fredericton and picking up Avalon while NDP pick up South Shore
