PM's pre-election travel blitz prompts call for restraint
Alta4ever replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So he has hid the the cost and lives has he, well he is doing an abimssmal job of hiding it because every death has been reported in all the media. Does someone need ot be reminded of the Manley report or is he not a liberal? So you are living in Harpers head and know what his intentions were? You knew more then anyother liberals stratigist, while Harper was walking circles around your party? He owned the liberal party for the better part of 3 years. The only political mistake he has made thus far was asking for a prorougment of parliment, when he should have asked for an election. Give it a couple of months and he will own Iggy too. How is Iggy going to justify his support of the Iraq war all of you liberals so have spoken out so fervently about Harper over it. How about the hate for Americans the liberals have but wait you have a leader who has written colums that have started my fellow americans. -
I really don't care what you beleive.

We are headed to two deficits erasing the payments made over the last three years. In all of this and the crap spending we will finnally be receiving helcopters that fly, have equipment that our military despartley needs. We have a real way of saving money, instead of the raping and pillaging people took from RRSP's. Liberal Partisan hacks are slowly being weeded out of high civil service office. Changes were made ot the banking system to the point were it became the best and most robust in the world. We have a government who finnaly are cutting funding to terror organization fund machines herein Canada, like the Tami tigers. A governmetn that actually listed to the farmers. A government and party that acknoledges that their is a Canada outside Quebec and Ont. A government that does its job and doesn't hide behind Supreme court judges to make law (liberal cowards). Why can't the opposition keep its story straight, how many times did the liberals draw a line in the sand, and then cower away and call Harper a bully instead of showing up in the commons to vote.

You can find it yourself, go back to budget time last year, and the pervious year, I was talking to you.

PM's pre-election travel blitz prompts call for restraint

So because the money was approved it should be spent? I'm sure your liberal friend Collin Kenney could have decided out of fiscal restraint that they shouldn't waste the tax payers funds and just stayed home. BUt then again the liberals are entitled to their entitlements. Dion/Layton/Duceppe where willing to do that with reckless abandon, they didn't even know where they were going to spend the 30 billion they just wanted it spent. -
Really is that so, I have had plenty to say, its just you don't remember it because it was all about removing wasteful social programs and funding.
-
No I don't think his spending was brillent, there should have been social and arts funding removed to offset every increase to vital sectors. But alas in a minority parliment what do. Some of the spending that was done meets with my approval, because they were items that i beleived were for the good of the country, and had been neglected for many years by a 3 consecutive liberal governments. We would not be in such a problem if the NDP Liberals and Bloc allowed some funding cuts to happen. 2.2 billion and counting gun registry, wasteful drunken spending.
-
1. Maybe in Quebec. 2. Harper can talk to who he wants, that doesn't effect were i fall on the political spectrum 3. I will make that suggestion to him if the liberals vote with the CPC to remove the 1.95 per vote.

What a great leader.

So he only cares about the good of his party when he is leading it?

Tax *reform*, a la joint tax return
Alta4ever replied to Pat Coghlan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So what I pay a hell of a lot more then 2 weeks salary in taxes. They need ot pay something for the services they receive everybody has some responsibility in society. Thats 15.38 a week. They can pay that for free healthcare, a social safety net, policing, free schooling, and all the other services that are provided. Life isn't suppose to be a free ride, and may others pay a lot more to cover their short fall for services rendered. In fact according to the Alberta gov website http://www.gov.ab.ca/home/NewsFrame.cfm?Re...102C038CFA.html "A typical family of four can now earn up to $40,900 with the Alberta Family Employment Tax Credit before paying any provincial income tax. An estimated 37,200 fewer Albertans will pay provincial income tax in 2008." Sounds like the poor have a heavy burden in this province doesn't it. But you leftist socialist things will never beleive that will you. Alberta's flat tax should look pretty appealing given the info above. I get so sick of the incesant whining about heavy burdens. give up you socialist ways, flat taxes work, and are most advantageous to everybody. -
It was a statement relative to the stupid stimulus spending that all the sheep seem to think we need. Jack, Dion, Gille and Iggy, seemed to think in November that we needed wild spending because of current market conditions. Not one of them was willing to think of restraint, or even remove their parties take of the tax payers funds even though they think the country is in such trouble and lots of more spending is required. It spoke very loudly, we don't think that we should have to tighten our parties belts but you the tax payer should be saddled with extra financial burden because of it. I wish I had the time to write the book required to vent my frustration with the fickel blanks sitting in opposition.

You were whining about the huge burden we put on our poor with a 10% flat tax. Also you were tring to call Sask marginal tax rate the same as Alberta flat tax system. -
Funny that was it wasn't Justice Gomery talking though was it, nor was the higher courts decision as widely remebered by the general public, JC sitting in that chair is burned into the general public memory. Do you think I sound like Red Tory PEECEEr to you? That party needed to die they were as bad as the liberal party. The liberals survive on government handouts take those away and they would be bankrupt. The NDP and CPC could survive on their donations alone, but not the liberals.

With dpendands the 2008 exemption is about $16,000. So 16,000 minus 24,000 is $8000x0.10 is $800. So just figure out what% of the income that is 800/24000x100= 3.3% of total income, so again I ask what huge burden is that. Funny to watch that % get closer to 10% the more someone makes though. -

I read it in the globe and mail, back then, I think I was in Winnipeg at the time. -

Please define what is a huge burden? What is 10% of 24,000 minus the basic exemption? -

Their are no marginal tax rates in Alberta it is just 10%. -

That was a quick switch at the end of November MB was at 4.9% and Sask was at 3.9%, that was really quick. I'll have to give those i know there a hard time when I am back in April. -

Nope Alberta is the only flat tax province in the country. -
I don't support the spending, I don't like it at all, but of all the parties I beleive the CPC would spend the least.

Actually that is manitoba, but close. No the one that just elected a conservative Brad wall government, the one that is finnally starting to climb out of the NDP imposed darkness. -
So we have established that you don't live in reality, just place were you can please all of the people all of the time...got it. That world is now up to 2, you and obama.
