The consitution allows us to manage all of the items you listed it is our RIGHT, which two other provinces currently do, these are the same two provinces that dominate the federal government. There is no double standard it is the same problem, danny wants our tax dollars and we don't want to send them The Difference between NF and Alberta is that Alberta sends more per capti in transfer payments then any other province. None of it was coming back to us. This has never been the case with Nf or any other province, they always got some of it back. We were paying for you with no benefit to us. So no there is no double standard, Danny can learn to live within his means and find out that in Canada the price of sucess is now having to carry the rest of the leaches (which NF was) in the country.

We are still dealling with sovergntists, and seperatist, (I was informed by a Quebecer their is appearently a difference, not quite sure what that is since they both have the same goal) because no one has delt with the issue head on and we allow them to have political credibilty in Federal government. A song on its own will do nothing, but it with other symbolism do provide a national idenity and gives citizens something in common to gather around they remind us of the greatness of our country and that we can't take it for granted. Our national anthem is one of these symbols that does this and needs to played over and over to keep the ideals of Canada fresh in our minds. As is said out of sight out of mind.

A recession typically last 18 months, we are already more that a couple of months in, the economicy will have already been on the mend in 3 years. I doubt Quebec will see anything significant at all this budget did reduce their transfer payaments. Quebec has esentially removed the chance of getting anything more, this budget shows the conservatives are done with appeasing quebec (over the next year any how) Watch them focus on Ont and Atlantic Canada, this is were they will try to get their majority.

I wouldn't buy liberal or NDP ones either. This looks like a budget that could have come from either of those camps too.
