  1. Law s consitution where are consitutional matters argued? Why such fear a amending a flawed document?
  2. I should mention his do as I say not as I do attitude when it comes to his ethics. No lobbists in the Whitehouse huh? Can't even follow his own rules.
  3. We had that in the B&A act it was already entrenched in our common law.
  4. I wouldn't change things that much after a bill has been through 3 times to the house of commons I beleive the senate must endorse it.
  5. Why, it was never done right to begin with. Trudeau's constitution was a farse we already had one under the B&A act. The thing needs to be changed.
  6. Nope if those guys want to work here great!
  7. Wow your worship is overwelming. I Don't how many time I have heard Obama off the uumm, ummm, ummm, uuuum. Obviously you not watch all three American news channels, if you did and weren't mesmerized by the one you would see it. But appeartently you think that his is the saviour and have a hard time of critizim of the one. The man is walking gaffe machine, the media in their love of him just don't make a big deal out of it, you they "the media" wanted their golden boy elected.
  8. He will be jimmy carter all over again, this is already evident with his stance on Iran and the amount of democrat pork in their unstimulus package.
  9. I can't beleive Kinsella would considering his stance on Ezra levant, and what was happening with HRC.
  10. But they (NDP) don't they focus on urban ridings, they may have had a canidate here but his name wasn't even on the signs al they said were vote for jack laytons team. Btw if the bloc changed its party consitution it could run candiates out side of Quebec, but they are just not interestd in doing it.
  11. It figures that you don't see yourself on a equal basis with the rest of Canada, its not enough for you votes to dominate one house but you must dominate both at the expense of the rest of Canada.
  12. I am in complete agreement when I said regional I ment ever province and territory gets the same number of seats .
  13. What I am saying is that their is still a lot that Americans buy from our economy and at time when job losses are high do you want to loose those too? No to mention the products that we import, do want to have to start payign tariffs on these. Remeber these costs are always passed to the consumer. The time to make those changes are when we are increasing employement not decreasing.
  14. The NDP is a very regionized party as well they are Urban ridings ony, they only represent cities how is that different the bloc only representing Quebec. Infact the liberals are just about the same, exept for al of 6 or so ridings they only represent urban Canada as well.
  15. If he's such a smart guy why does have such problems speaking when he doesn't have a prepard speech in hand. I doubt he's any smarter then GW Bush. He has been given a media "holiday" he was a walking gaffe machine during the primaries but it wasn't reported. At a rally in the midwest he said that he had been to just about all "57" states. I like to know when those 7 states were accepted into the republic? He has said a great number of other very stupid things, but the media is in lov with him and do feel the need to focus on his mistakes like they do for conservatives. As was said before I highly doubt he is any smarter then any other president.
  16. By your logic the bloc shouldn't be allowed to sit in the lower chamber either.
  17. The NDP has never stopped it members from sitting, they just don't allow them to be part of their caucus, and I respect their parties stance as they want to abolish the senate anyway. If there members sit it adds credibilty to the senate something that they don't want to do. They are following their parties policies.
  18. While there are problems in Nafta now is not the time to play the protectionsit card or re negociate the right time to do this is in a year to 18 months when we are starting to come out of the recession, not when we are in the middle of it.
  19. If we tax the hell out of their products comming to our country its our citzens who have to pay more for it. If you want to plays these games though, you could slap export taxes on energy. But really all of this is going to be about posturing and it would just be best find new markets to sell into. If they don't want ot play with us we should just sell our resources else where.
  20. They have the right to control their party and set its rules and constitution. Their is one NDP senator, but she is not allowed to sit as part of the NDP Caucus. As far as I have understood the senate votes aren't whipped anyway.
  21. Currently the NDP doesn't allow its members to sit in the senate.
  22. Why proportional representation we all ready have that in the house (to a degree). If you wnt to make the whole country more democratic change it to a regional representation. It would be a step in removing a lot of the resentment that country towards central canada always running the show.
  23. considering no one has called you looney left you seem to be the juvenile around here.
  24. Other than health care I doubt many Canadians care who runs these things as long as they are run efficently and they continue to have the same or greater access to them.
  25. The books were balanced on $30/barrel oil in the nineties when the royalties weren't that good. It was until we were long out of debt when it hit 70, then 140.
