Dave On , I don`t believe the CPC has ever had a policy of changing the MP`s pension . It is a no starter as the Reform Party found out. People just don`t care. Don`t forget that once elected all MP`s get the title Honourable! A few earn the title once in office. Few are deserving.

Capital punishment will not deter crimes such as what happened to little Tory or the victims of Bernardo and Clifford Olsen. Ghastly evil will someday raise it`s ugly head again but capital punishment will not stop it. The people who commit such crimes can not be deterred unless caught in the act. Even if we suspect that these creatures posing as humans are planning deeds most foul we are helpless to do anything except watch and hope they slip up when being watched. When I was younger I was a hang em high advocate,but as time has passed and seen several convicted of murder be exonerated much later because of poor police work in the beginning I have had a change of mind. I do believe that locking up convicted murders for life ,and I mean life and hard labour to boot. Unfortunately our prison system is now run by the inmates in some kind of weird partnership with officials.The prisoners now have rights! Deterance must be the message to other would be scum like these two suspects who are charged with the murder and torture of this child from Woodstock along with the gang bangers. Life must not be pleasant behind bars. Recreation should be limited to education and reading. Giving these murders basketball courts and gymnasiums should be cut off immediately. Why should we make these thugs stronger? Prison should be hell on earth. For some flogging would be a great deterant. Anyone who is flogged for rape will never ever rape again.

I am all for honest hard working immigrants coming to Canada and I could care less their colour ,religion or race. What I do have a problem with is those who wish to impose their culture on Canadians. I have no time for those who wish to carry on the wars and prejudices of their old country. Well thats kind of harsh. Although I agree with most of what you say,I want to assure you that many ethnics join our military. The Queens Own Rifles of Canada a storied Toronto regiment that has served our country continuously since 1860 had a Black soldier earn a bravery medal in Afganistan.

War is a terrible failure, but when war is prosecuted it is incumbent on civilized nations not to deliberately target civilians. The Taliban are terrorists and deliberately target the innocent to inforce terrorism. If you can`t see the difference you must be blinded by your own prejudice.

The difference is we do not deliberately target women and children. Colateral damage is a terrible thing and one of the failures of war. We have remorse for our mistakes. These bastard Talibans are deliberately targeting little girls who dare to become educated. And they do it proudly.

Mean while we get off subject by those who find reason to dislike NATO`s mission. Throwing acid in the faces and gasing little girls should not find anything but disgust and anger towards the Taliban no matter ones feelings toward this war.
