What countries currently practice slavery? Saudia Arabia, the Sudan, the Horn of Africa. What do they all have in common? Even in Canada we've prosecuted immigrants for holding domestic workers as slaves. Repeatedly raped, not paid for services rendered, beaten and abused in Canada. Cough cough where did they hail from? Saudi Arabia/Ottawa. Name a current (or in the past century) where slaves were acceptable as the norm in the West? Yea that's what I thought.

You have brought up valid points Argus, regarding the age of immigrants it would be interesting to know what the age demographics are. My town has nine new comers, all over forty with teenage children. I doubt they will have more. Also a valid point, lack of education of immigrants. While at one time all it took to strive and thrive in Canada was hard manual labour that era is gone, we need skilled labour. Another valid point, immigrants straining our social saftey net. I've seen case where a male is a refugee, he recieves in excess of three thousand a month. He brings over his wives and they each get welfare independantly for themselves and children. To respond to the OP I shall use forums in my analogy. When reading or posting on forums as a Right winger I believe that the left have made us a society of weak, lame and lazy people. Male and female, the left idiology of no seperation of state and it's people are the root of this belief. Instead of becoming more productive citizens we've become a society of cry babies, when something goes wrong the first thing a left leaning person does is demand the "Government" pay for it, or fix it. Right wingers tend to their own affairs, we don't want government intervention into our private lives. Personally I find many (not all) of the left/socialist leaning males (on forums) weak and whiny as are many of the women who support Liberal/NDP idiology. They are oversensitive, easily offended, find the word black offensive even when describing the color of your dress. I find males who lean left to be personally unattractive even though I can't see them. Their words make me cringe most of the time, as a female I don't find weak males who spew forth tripe and snivel attractive. One only has to log on to a left/left or NDP forum and the conversations that are taking place are amusing, their over sensitive egos are so fragile that calling a cat a "Black Cat" offends them lest it offend a black person who reads the word black. As a right winger, I believe the police should not be investigating nonsense as racial slurs-hurt feelings and insults are not crimes. Racial issues seem more important than criminal issues with left leaning males and females. In short, this right winger believes in government running our country not our lives. The police are for law enforcement, laws that we as a society demand from our government not laws legislated to give special interest groups or minorities more power. My entire street are Liberal supporters, I often recommend left leaning forums for them to read. It amazes me how out of touch the voting public is with the current liberal party and it's policies or lack of them. Classical Liberals are not impressed with the liberal party of Canada anymore and most will vote Conservative in the next election. Who could of guessed that the liberal party of Canada would go to the hardleft in such a short time. Socialist Party of Canada is more applicable than Liberal.

I concur it is a "Lack of productive bodies" currently most immigrants end up in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. We need immigrants that are willing to move into rural areas of Canada. Sask. is going through a major economic boom and it appears that the Phillippino community is emigrating into the Prairies and thriving. From what I've read they are integrating into their communties very well and they come highly educated and ready to work hard and lay down roots. Most have jobs before they arrive into Canada, good positive stuff. Canadian politicians seem to be happy with the status quo, eventually Toronto is going to simmer and boil over with racial issues if the Jamacian Gang issue isn't dealt with. It shouldn't be a racial issue it should be a criminal issue. I can only imagine how law biding Jamacians feel living in getthos controled by violent thugs. Who are we afraid of offending, Jamacian thugs? I do not believe we will ever have a severe shortage of skilled workers in Canada. It's leftest propaganda, the work force shrinks as industries die or close shop putting skilled labour out of work. This labour force moves into the areas where there is a labour shortage and the cycle continues. Using the shortage of skilled labour as a red herring to flood this country with third world immigrants is cultural and economic suicide. Canada does not need more taxi drivers, it needs more electricians, plumbers, maisons etc.
