I don't mind paying higher taxes if it means we have improved and efficient social programs but frankly the mis-management of Mental Health Workers, Workers Comp, Disability, UI (look at the billions in surplus) Federal Pension Plans for federal workers, the people who need the programs are being denied denied. I can site case after case of individuals who are qualified being denied access to programs for five plus years. We pay into Canada Pension and if you are injured and unable to work you get the princely sum of less than 800 (Fed and Prov combined) to live off of. For heavens sake how can a single disabled male/female live on that? Far to much of the funds alloted to social programs gets used for more and more "STAFF", we need real progressive change so the mentally ill, disabled and others who need it don't have to fight for years whilst their suffering continues.

It's not the West that needs to change it's idiology it is Radical Islamist that live in Medieval times. Many Muslims who lived in England for twenty/forty years are being singled out as "Not Muslim Enough" and face daily harrassment we need to join forces globally with them and make our governments accountable for denying them a SAFE voice in public debate. My two cents, I'm a Classical Liberal who bends to the moderate right. I am very angry at the Liberal Party of Canada, it's not a "Liberal" party it is a left/left hardcore Socialist Party. It's gone so far left it can't stand up anymore it sidles sideways. The NDP are hardcore Communist and Crazies, I hold them in utter contempt no sane person would vote for this party. The Liberals put in place enormous powers in Federal Agencies to ensure their agenda stays on track when they get booted out of office. In order for this country to become a moderate left or right country again we need to embrace Freedom of Speech, (liberals hate that one the truth will set us free from them and their utopia state mentality) we need to stop pandering to minority groups and we need senate reform asap. However I'm not a Harper fan, he's a liar who will do what he must to stay in power. He makes no attempt to lead Canada away from the socialist path the liberals have laid down. Like most Politicians he will never cede the power the Liberals bestowed upon themselves in the name of "Social Conscience" (lack of one). I will however chew my left hand down to the bone before I'll ever vote for the lying cheating elitest in the Liberal Party, I can only hope Canadians see what this party has put in motion to turn this country into another Sweden where we serve the elites in Government for a life time or get jailed if we speak out. Well Melanie that in a nut shell is what the majority in Canada are angry about, Canada's roots are Christian Culture and those of us who cherish it become rather angry that non-christians feel the need to expell it from our culture. I'm not sorry for being proud of my CULTURE, Christmas is a tradition in Canada as is Easter and other holidays and I for one shall scream from the roof tops every year when the Snot and Bawlers try and rewrite our Canadian Traditions. Many people enjoy our Christmas Season as a special Holiday but they aren't worshiping Christians. It was the liberal left/left that start culling our holidays to rid us of our culture. It was and is an attack on Canadian Culture, no one is forced to partake of our holidays. Christmas pagents are also part of our culture not Holiday or Seasonal Plays Christmas Pagents. The left can rename every single important cultural event in Canada but it's not going to change the fact that it's deeply rooted in the majority of Canadians' Culture. Another failure of the socialist left to cull our culture under the guise of offending who exactly? We are suppose to be a cough choke gag a democracy so why are the minority groups being pandered to. I don't give a flying fig if some god hating witch doesn't like Christmas or Easter when these hags become a majority I'll have to swollow their venom. When the Hill gets back to business I think Canadians want to hear what the future holds regarding our Mission in Afghanistan. I want to know (yes I realise the mission is fluid) what are our goals and what have we done to date. I don't want the troops placed in further danger by party leaders squabbling in public visa vie the media but as a Canadian I have a right to know the basics of the Mission are and it's mandate.

There is nothing one can do about such racist hatred towards whites but expose the racism. Just because someone of color can get away with being racists doesn't mean they won't be held accountable for their hateful words. I agree, but Immigration Canada is so lacking in their ability to do their job that it's not funny anymore. Did you know that it was taking CSIS two years plus to do security checks on new recruits to the Military can you image the wait time for new immigrants? Where I live we've had a program in place for twenty years, it's not immigration per say it's work visas. We needed seasonal workers to pick crops so the local farmers went to Jamaica found a willing work force worked out a deal with the powers that be and for the past twenty years workers have been coming and picking the crops for four or fives months a year. We are now employing their children who save and become University Students in the area. They pay taxes, add to the economy and have become long term valued seasonal workers. They love the freedom of working here and going to their "Much Loved homeland" with enough money to support their families. In twenty years we had ONE commit a crime. ONE. Sadly they face alot of discrimination from the rednecks who blame them for their sons lack of employment. The truth is these youth are to freaking lazy to work for ten dollars an hours so they go on welfare and sell drugs for spare cash. It's the immigrants on worker's visa that's adding to this community not the local youth. Many workers who work in NFL and Alberta work six weeks on six off, seasonal workers could be a viable option for the lack of workers? Let Immigration Canada dither it's way through the process and start allowing Employers to hire qualified people with work visas? Yes no?

When I viewed the video I thought I can't decide whom is insulting or harming who without more background information. So I didn't post, at first I thought it had been posted to show how Palestinians suffer at the hands of Isreal. Which I consider assine, current events between Hamas and Fatah show that when their lives are in danger they don't flee towards the opposition in Palestine they flee towards Israel for sanctuary. That in a nut shell tells me all I need to know about Hamas and it's supporters. I don't know where members on this forum stand, it's early days for me as a newbie. But I have no tolerance for the anti-Jew brigate that flood forums with nonsense and bigotry towards Jews.

There is no denying that there are followers of Islam in Canada that would do us harm, the same can be said about radical Fundies who would kill to prevent abortion. Wahhabi Islam is the enemy not the peaceful followers of the true version of Islam, Islam.
