  1. Actually, it was not right before the election, but two and a half years ago, before Ford was PC leader. Nevertheless the allegation by the Liberals are serious and should be looked into by the authorities. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/doug-ford-pc-memberships-audio-recording-kinga-surma-1.4675893
  2. Ford said he will release a costed platform before the election. This could work in the PCs favour. Releasing the platform closer to the election will result in quite a bit of media attention. Also, Libs and NDP final campaign moves risk losing the spotlight to Ford's policies. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-doug-ford-says-hell-release-fully-costed-platform-before-ontario/
  3. Poll shows NDP in the lead in Ontario 2 weeks before election. Oh boy. Somebody give Horwath a calculator.

Horwath will be worse than Wynne (spend-wise).  With the way it is right now, Ontario is sinking.

If Horwath wins.......we must've been cursed.

If Ford wants to run as being fiscally prudent, he should cost his plan, and he should refrain from blaming the media if there are crackheads in his cabinet.

  4. Hey JETS, thanks for the ride. It was good while it lasted. :)

Uh-Ho, don't tell Justin. He would likely condemn the lack of diversity.

Yes the Jets impressed. Yet, if there was ever a Cinderella team Vegas is it.

  5. Here a Trump, there a Trump, everywhere a Trump.

  6. You've got the wrong country. Trump isn't running in this provincial election.
  7. So what. All three parties are in a bidding war to bribe voters for their support. Why would PCs not play the game that has been so profitable for the Liberals?
  8. Could it be true? Could the JETS win the Stanley Cup? A win tonight would bring the dream closer to reality. GO JETS

  10. May 8, Victory in Europe day.

"On this day in 1945, both Great Britain and the United States celebrate Victory in Europe Day. Cities in both nations, as well as formerly occupied cities in Western Europe, put out flags and banners, rejoicing in the defeat of the Nazi war machine.

The eighth of May spelled the day when German troops throughout Europe finally laid down their arms:"

No statement yet from Canadian ministers but National Defence and Veterans Affairs usually do so on this day. Legion branches hold observances to mark the day.

      Lest we forget.

  11. Our Prime Minister is campaigning with Kathleen Wynne for her re-election as Ontario Premier. One mediocre politician trying to prop up another sub-standard politician.

As PM he's supposed to represent Canadians, not just Liberal Canadians. This should not be allowed, but then again our entire political system is swiftly devolving into one bad never ending joke.

  12. I hear you. Our Prime Minister threw open our country's doors to migrants in a tweet which circulated around the world. He may think it's the right thing to do. Yet he failed to think of the immediate burden placed on the resources needed to make that workable. He is prone to blurting out grand plans without a thought for their impact and implementation.
  13. http://nationalpost.com/news/canada/de-facto-amnesty-a-look-at-the-daunting-reality-of-canadas-migrant-crisis I was not aware of this. Seeing as would-be migrants are well versed in our laws and their loopholes, it's no wonder they opt to enter at illegal crossings since the safe third country agreement is not enforceable in such cases.
  14. Oh get off your high horse. You can stop deflecting now that you have learned the difference between a legal point of entry and an illegal crossing area.
  15. "At a point of entry" is key here. Of course, persons seeking entry at designated points of entry will be processed in accordance with the law. Persons entering Canada at other border areas not designated a point of entry are illegal arrivals, should be turned back and advised to go through a legal point of entry. I have to laugh at your comment about conservatives. As if you are qualified to speak to this issue when you don't even know the difference between a designated "point of entry" and illegal crossing areas.
  16. US response to the arrival of Central American caravan at the US-Mexican border. https://www.dhs.gov/news/2018/04/25/secretary-nielsen-statement-arrival-central-american-caravan Justin and his Liberals don't have the balls to uphold our laws in this manner. They prefer to roll out the welcome mat and look at illegal arrivals as potential future Liberal voters. To hell with our sovereignty and our laws.
  17. Trudeau in Question Period invoking the Harper government in his (non)answers. I doubt that will play well with Canadians who live in the present, not in the past as do the Liberals.

Looks to me that Trudeau is setting the stage for fighting the next election against Harper and not the current Conservative party. IMO big mistake.

He's going to demonize Scheer through Harper.  They're latching on that description of Scheer, "Harper with a smile."  Must be the advise from his former Obama adviser that the Libs had imported to help them.

Cons should show Trudeau as a lapdog.   He came on the scene wrapped in nice packaging - but after world leaders had unwrapped the package, they found out he's all fluff.   He's really nothing on the world stage now......

    3. scribblet

      scribblet

Scheer needs to come out swinging now before the branding sets in.  Trudeau refuses to take responsibility for his actions by blaming a previous gov't for his own stupidity.  Not only that Trudeau is a thief, he's taking our money and giving it to anti pipeline protesters.

  18. Bombshell follow-up lengthy article in the Saturday Globe by the same author. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/investigations/article-bad-books-how-ontarios-new-hydro-accounting-could-cost-taxpayers/ Wow! It's time for a public inquiry into this entire accounting situation. This, in addition to Wynne and her Liberals using taxpayers' money to campaign before the writ is dropped illustrates just how corrupt and entitled they have become.
  19. Justin Trudeau reacts to North Korea suspending nuclear tests. https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/trudeau-welcomes-north-korea-s-nuclear-testing-freeze-1.3896242 Just another one of the musings of our intellectual Prime Minister. Very stirring.
  20. Me too. It's the perfect type of thread in which to inject a little humor.
  21. Come on Spanky, Trudeau looks like a dork in those pics. Why can't he just shake hands with these foreign leaders? Why does he have to embrace them the way he does? I mean, he even puckers up with eyes closed. It's downright bizarre and embarrassing.
  22. I could swear this trip that PM Trudeau is on is a covert operation. It is really meant to give instruction to foreign leaders on the etiquette of hugging. https://www.esquire.com/lifestyle/a19839661/justin-trudeau-emmanuel-macron-awkward-hugging-etiquette/
  23. Is this what they call a "bromance"? I'm tempted to say "get a room".
