because the mainstream media is not dominated by the left, it is dominated by interests. That concept of a left wing media is a scary boogey man for the "right" It gives them someone to blame endlessly, and diverts attention from the reality of the fact that the media is dominated by large corporations , who have no interest in really informing the citizens, until long after the fact. Look at the whole Iraq debacle to know there is nothing "left" about the media. -

did you read the originating posts??? These aren't soldiers who were captured by anyone, you don't even speak on topic, so why bother at all?
-
yeah but then by resorting to such extreme accusations, so unfounded, the poster, shows how irrationaly extreme his/her own views are.

Hamas accepts Israel's right to exist in peace
kuzadd replied to BC_chick's topic in The Rest of the World
I thought it was quite a coup for Carter, and he seems to be trying to accomplish some sort of peace. I agree it is defintely a story worth following. Interestingly did you note that hysterical woman in the US governmet who wants Carter's passport revoked because he is apparently undermining the Bush regime. Someone doesn't want peace, who lobbied this dingbat? -
This thread is about Israeli soldiers who are confessing their crimes, that they committed of their own accord, and their own free will. Can we get back to the topic. the soldiers acknowledge they are committting crimes in the OCCUPIED territories, therefore, they acknowledge the are NOT in their own country. They are infact outside of their designated borders which is why , they are occupiers. They have made a presentation to the people of Israel, to inform them what they are doing, in the name of Israel, to the people they occupy. As for there never being a palestine, there was, because when one goes back to the UN resolution relating to the partitioning Of Palestine, it is called Palestine, because there was a Palestine. All historical revision and utter nonsense bordering on hysterical stupidity aside. http://www.jafi.org.il/education/100/maps/part.html On November 29, 1947, the General Assembly of the United Nations voted with a 2/3 majority to partition western Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. http://www.state.gov/p/nea/rls/22562.htm just read through and take note of how many times Palestinians and Palestine are acknowledged as an existent country and existing people. here's just one sentence 1. Citizenship Palestinian citizens residing in Palestine outside the City of Jerusalem, as well as Arabs and Jews who, not holding Palestinian citizenship, reside in Palestine outside the City of Jerusalem shall, upon the recognition of independence, become citizens of the State in which they are resident and enjoy full civil and political rights. Palestinians with Palestinian citizenship! now back to the soldiers!

usually the best beast does win, right.

The Israeli army subscribes to the rule of law, like the US army apparently. War makes beasts of people on all sides of the conflict, not just one.

and yet, you demonstrate obvious hypocrisy. "Rather than point fingers at individuals, it is true that bad things happen in battle. I would never ever state categorically that either side is completely innocent." then you go on to do , just that and reduce this thread to personal smear. would you please back up your BS assertation that I am a promoter of genocide? Or you can retract and apologize. wow, how balanced you demonstrate yourself to be, a person who writes what you do?? lol! I guess you can't handle to hear the other side of the story, from the soldiers themselves, who perpetrated vicious acts, for no reason at all, by their own accounting. Is that what bothers you, that Israeli soldiers are confessing their own crimes.
-
does it? did you read through the articles?
-
yes that's it, it is the Palestinians themselves that cause IDF soldiers, to beat them, and choke them, all for fun, to test them. Pillage their homes, steal their money and more And the settlers???!! those guys are some "chosen by God kinda people " in the occupied territories I saw a video where one settler in the occupied area said, his land extends as far as his gun can shoot Palestinians in the occupied territories! nice. I don't believe in "chosen people" If god created man in his/her image, he created all man, and had no chosen people. As I said before, if an omnipotent god created mankind, he would be wise enough not to encourage sibling rivalry, by playing favourites.

another news article on the same group: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3533441,00.html Testimonies from Hebron: Soldiers choke, beat Palestinians Soldiers serving in Hebron testify to violent acts unleashed by troops, settlers on Palestinian residents. Four testimonies below I'll put one testimony here, for your reading pleasure, there is a link at this news article to the pamphlet this group has put out. Choking:

Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slur

sorry Jefferiah, free speech has nothing to do with coercive tactics to manipulate. That is a whole subject to itself. criticism doesn't reduce itself to name calling and smear, criticism is rational, logical and well thought out. -

Abbas to award PA's Highest Medal to Suicide Bomber
kuzadd replied to WarBicycle's topic in Religion & Politics
Is Abbas, ever associated with Hamas??? I don't think so. why do you? You can imagine all you want, and whatever you want, but in all reality with rational thought processes , as a guide, the awards are not happening! -

there is no indication the edit was regarding what the blogger wrote about. In all actuality such a change would have likely warranted a different story with a different weblink. either way the blog and the news story are at direct odds with on another. which can only leave one wondering about the intent of the blogger in writing the story , knowing people do not check the sources. -

Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slur
kuzadd replied to WarBicycle's topic in The Rest of the World
actually I made it quite clear in several posts that not only are the numbers not there, the people are unempowered. Therefore the power and influence they wield is really miniscule, and that's quite obvious given the amount of bad press they receive endlessly. Unlike say the US which has minority population, yet is a major player in the world, very powerful, wreaks endless havoc, and really doesn't garner anywhere near the bad press, relative to the amount of misery they manage to inflict on multiple countries and people. -

honestly, I don't think the poster made the topic as a free speech issue. It was started a way to show muslims in a negative light. all the people claiming free speech these days, seem to only want it so they can castigate muslims. These same people who cry "free speech" have there noses all out of joint when one is critical of GWB, american foreign policy, anti-war people, criticism of Israels' human rights abuses, war crimes, etc., they are not concerned that people who express these opinions are also entitled to their opinion. Yet time and time again, we see the people shouting anti-american, anti-semite, traitor, terrorist supporter, and every other label they can muster. So if these people were really espousing free speech, they wouldn't resort to silencing tactics.
