  1. He will be followed and tracked by intelligence services of more then one country and org regardless of "conditions" . And in all likelyhood a "terrorist cell" is doubtful to have anything to do with him, as he could be considered comprised, like his older brother.
  2. He was captured in 2001. He became a CIA informant. 2 years later July 2003 he had a dead father and paralysed younger brother..... October 2003 he returns to Canada. The following month, he denied reports by the Toronto Star that he had been released in exchange for giving the Americans information on the location of his father, who was killed in a Predator drone airstrike in Waziristan two weeks before Abdurahman's release.[17] you decide....

  4. Ditto
  5. I disagree with the comment about the oil affecting the dollar. I just can't ignore previous comments over the past 15 years regarding the rise and fall of the dollar being tied to oil pricing. If this was true 15 years ago, its true today.... 1.Since oil is an internationally traded commodity and since Canada is so small relative to the United States and the EU, price changes in oil are caused by international factors outside of Canada. 2.Since the demand for both oil and gas are quite inelastic in the short run, a rise in oil prices causes the dollar value of the oil sold to rise. I do agree with the premise that sending oil to Ontario won't change the math/price.
  6. Apparently, Alberta, One other Prairie Province if they want it (Not sure they do) Ontario. I have also heard NS mentioned. You do realize Mulcair is no more from Quebec, then Harper is from Alberta. Regardless any refineries would be within Canada. Seems you would prefer them to be in China.
  7. Kinda hard to rewrite the Bible to address a religion that arrives 600years later..... I also think few here have time for a "Religious" debate on whats in who's book and when. If you want to go down that path, lay them all out on the table and have at her. Juicy bits everywhere. But then move the thread over to "RELIGION" Now since you are being a bit of an ASS and want to drag the Irish into this. I happened to be outside Paddington station "Ironically reading a sign that said, Watchout for Pickpockets" 18 February 1991: A bomb explodes in Paddington Station, damaging the building's roof but causing no casualties. Three hours later another bomb explodes at Victoria Station. One man is killed and 38 people injured. Me and my girlfriend shit ourselves. Now DogonPorch.... eat it... And here is something else to chew on.... 16 May 1990: Wembley IRA detonate a bomb underneath a minibus killing Sgt Charles Chapman (The Queen's Regiment) and injuring another soldier. No one was ever convicted of Sgt Chapman's murder. 20 July 1990: London Stock Exchange, the IRA detonated a large bomb at the London Stock Exchange causing massive damage. 7 February 1991 Mortar attack on 10 Downing Street[18] 18 February 1991: A bomb explodes in Paddington Station, damaging the building's roof but causing no casualties. Three hours later another bomb explodes at Victoria Station. One man is killed and 38 people injured. 10 January 1992: Small device exploded. No injuries, Whitehall Place, London SW1. 28 February 1992: A bomb explodes at London Bridge station injuring 29 people. 10 April 1992 Baltic Exchange bombing: A large bomb explodes outside 30 St Mary Axe in the City of London. The bomb was contained in a large white truck and consisted of a fertilizer device wrapped with a detonation cord made from Semtex. It killed three people: Paul Butt, aged 29, Baltic Exchange employee Thomas Casey, aged 49, and 15-year old Danielle Carter. Several people were critically or severely injured. The bomb also caused damage to surrounding buildings (many of which were further damaged by a second bomb the following year). The bomb caused £800 million worth of damage—£200 million more than the total damage costs resulting from all 10,000 previous explosions that had occurred relating to the Troubles in Northern Ireland. A new skyscaper was built on the site of the previous historic building.[19] 11 April 1992: A large bomb explodes underneath the A406 flyover at Staples Corner, causing serious damage to roads and nearby buildings including a B&Q DIY store and causing the closure of the junction. The blast was large enough to be felt many miles away. 12 October 1992: A device exploded in the gentlemen's toilet of the Sussex Arms public house in Covent Garden, killing one person and injuring four others. 16 November 1992: the IRA planted a bomb at Canary Wharf in the Docklands. The device was spotted by security guards and was deactivated safely. 28 January 1993: a bomb exploded in a litter bin outside Harrods, injuring four people.[20] 27 February 1993: a bomb exploded in a litter bin outside a McDonalds restaurant in Camden Town, injuring several people.[21] 24 April 1993 Bishopsgate bombing: the IRA detonated a huge truck bomb in the City of London at Bishopsgate, It killed journalist Ed Henty, injured over 40 people, and causing approximately £1 billion worth of damage,[22] including the near destruction of St Ethelburga's Bishopsgate church, and serious damage to Liverpool Street station. Police had received a coded warning, but were still evacuating the area at the time of the explosion. The insurance payments required were so large that Lloyd's of London almost went bankrupt under the strain, and there was a crisis in the London insurance market. The area had already suffered damage from the Baltic Exchange bombing the year before. October 1993: Over eight days, a series of IRA bombs were left in various London locations. On 1 October, four bombs were left on Finchley Road, three of which exploded, causing damage to buildings and several injuries caused by falling glass. On 4 October, pairs of bombs were left in Highgate (where one failed to explode), Hornsey, and Archway, causing significant damage but no injuries. On 8 October, bombs exploded in Staples Corner and West Hampstead, again causing damage but no injuries. March 1994 Heathrow Airport, The IRA launched a series of mortar attacks on the airport, partially paralysing the capital's main air route. 9 February 1996 Docklands bombing: the IRA bombed the South Quay area of London, killing two people. 15 February 1996: A 5-pound (2.3 kg) bomb placed in a telephone box is disarmed by Police on the Charing Cross Road. 18 February 1996: An IRA bomb detonates prematurely on a bus travelling along Aldwych in central London, killing Edward O'Brien, the IRA volunteer transporting the device and injuring eight others.[23] 29 April 1997: Britain's transport industry claimed minimum losses of £30 million after a series of IRA bomb alerts in southern England brought traffic to a standstill. In the London area, the Heathrow airport and the M25 motorway were closed
  8. I was thinking something similar. However, People of many religions including Islam, begin adopting a Western Lifestyle when in Canada. Not all of course, and some never will. Its not alot different then some of the other cultures. However, long before "Multi Culturalism" Mennonites settled here and for the most part, have stuck to their cultural traditions. Some have adopted mechanised machinery and such but alot of the culture and practices remain. I tend to buy my ducks/chickens/eggs and Maple syrup from the farms. I quite like it. As for Natives... assimilation takes many forms. If one looks at the changes in wardrobe, practices and such, Natives adopted many of the "European" ways and dress and also have adopted virtually the same lifestyle as many Canadians. The differences in Nation to Nation engagement or independence or practices between Bands and the Crown remain. So hard core assimilation has not proven successful even after abducting their children. But culturally yes alot of assimilation and adoption of Western Practices already exist. Including Religion or rejection of it.
  9. Now that is ironic. Kraychik calls out videogame players.... KRAYCHIK = BUSTED LMAO.... GameSpot http://www.gamespot.com/search/?qs=Kraychik&filter=forum
  10. That was no miracle. He was to be executed and he requested it because of his injuries. At the last moment orders were received to keep him alive for intelligence gathering Unless you were referring to surviving the bombing in the first place?
  11. Yes, in that the US signed that very same agreement. It would have to defend its actions and make a case for there actions. Eventually, this is what happened and anyone following the previous threads on Khadr knew he would be returning to Canada and only those in denial seemed surprised by this outcome. It was predictable and telegraphed.
  12. Is this a time joke???
  13. While the comments of the Liberal Party may be a tad hypocritical, the comments so far by the opposition are valid and required in any society that values good government and the rule of law. If you suggest that invoking the name Kahdr is gaining political brownie points, I believe you are sadly mistaken. Regardless the government must justify its course of action. The Khadr issue is a 3rd rail. It is not more positive for the government then for the opposition and it invokes emotional passions from the public in general, that lash out at everything and anything, be they coming from those with Centre Right or Centre Left leanings. Its just a matter of the target. Those on the Right, don't believe the Conservatives did enough to keep him out (not a good thing for Conservatives) and those on the Left think he was not brought back soon enough, as other Western Nations had done with their citizens in Guantanamo, including, countries like Australia and Germany. If I recall correctly Conservatives attacked the then Liberal Government for not stripping the citizen rights of the Khadrs. It is the job of the opposition to highlight alternatives, even if they don't do anything any different when they achieve power. I don't believe the Liberals would have brought Khadr back any sooner. Again as for brownie points. Its a net loss story for any political party.
  14. You are just a few rephrasings short of making this statement a moral masterpiece.
  15. free colonoscopies Go ahead and pay for yours Shady.... perhaps you could get a better price based on volume
  16. Erm, Omar Khadr...... You don't need a link. He was a boy of 15 and was charged with war crimes as an adult enemy combatant. However minors can be charged as an adult. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trial_as_an_adult
  17. Fraud will occur at every level of society. If you have proof, report it. Otherwise what you have is simply anecdotal hearsay. Why should this fraud attract your interest more then other fraud? Is it Fraud that is committed far to often? I find Corporate fraud, Financial and insider fraud all to common and not addressed by Canadians as it Welfare fraud is prosecuted far more often and successfully then corporate fraud. However, it is even more common for those involved in actions you described are removed from the system when discovered. My Concern is that it was FRAUD that has lead to significant loss of confidence in the economy and financing, causing the consumer to lose trust in the market at the same time companies are taken Billions in tax cuts, loans and grants while heading off to foreign countries with Canadian taxpayers dollars. A thread title on Fraud could rank the level of fraud and loss caused towards society. Even monies obtained through welfare fraud find itself back within the local economies. Investor Fraud, the monies are lost , period. The course takes roughly for Sterile Process Technician takes anywheres from 12 to 21 weeks, and you have had your certification for 1 year and the last 6 months unemployed...... I would have to assume that you worked while you took that course for you to be eligible for EI in the first place or you took the online course. Did you do a coop of roughly 400 hours and was it paid or unpaid? It is my understanding that you choose to continue in this field until a position in your new field comes available. There has been postings in your area within the last week and a few more within 1.5 hours drive. That said, if you are not tied down to London... there appears to be many posting across the Province and Country in this field. Obviously you need to gain more experience as well... I would go to Fanshaw everyday and have them help you with Job Search. You have made a good choice. Its just a matter of getting hired and of course many of these positions can be part time to start, but that gets you the experience and foot in the door.
  18. Interesting Statement. A person who's entire adult life has been in a Military Prison Camp will need no Family Support. That very statement suggests he will require significant support from elsewhere. Is his opinion going to provide the support a Prisoner of War requires to re integrate into Canadian society Heck people in the Military often struggle in adapting to Civilian Life.
  19. The General is not his family. The point of scribblets post was not to judge him based on his family but actually looked at the family support unit. I would say by the looks of the family outcomes, it is not your typical suburban Canadian family and not the life that average Canadian children would have been subjected to. I would think he is going to require ALOT more support then that once released from Prison. And the American General will not be in Canada to help with the process...
  20. Thats right, we are talking about a "Child Soldier" What is the official age of the Lords Resistance Army? What is the age Canada signed on to regarding "Child Soldiers" and their treatment. You wish to defend Al Qaedas practice of using child soldiers , thats your decision not mine. As mentioned before, the laws of double jeapardy could apply, but I don't believe ANYONE wants the details of a criminal trial in a public civilian court. He has been released to the Civilian Canadian Government, not to the Canadian Military. If you had wanted him released to the Canadian Military , he would have been charged HERE first and not by the United States Military. The United States Military did NOT release him to the Canadian Military. The Canadian Military did not request for his transfer for such charges nor did the Canadian Military ever charge Khadr with treason in 11 years. The same could be said for the Civilian Government. The Crown did not attempt to lay a charge against Khadr in 11 years.
  21. I believe the Liberal Silence while having Majority and Minority power from 2002 to 2006 speaks volumes. People may jump on you for this, but I think it is logical to suggest that a young mind radicalized at the age of 14 and then treated like an animal for 11 years might not think any better of Western Values. Or Perhaps he has grown up and realized how he was used by his father to further a terrorist agenda. As for his family. Well, I have never been fond of the comments attributed to the mother. I see no change. Brother Abdul was returned to Canada in 2005 was serving 5 years when it was learned through Ontario Supreme courts he be released in 2010 citing "shocking and unjustifiable" human rights violations. Abdurahman_Khadr is the one who worked with US intelligence. Abdulkareem_Khadr was 13 years old when paralysed in an attack. So.. I am not certain what his "family" can teach him, about living in Canada.
  22. That is how old I was and I was not 15 and 10 months...... next question. Nor is any Cadet under 16 in the Armed Forces, not even the Militia. Recruited and sent to "camp" by his father at the age of 14. He began as a "child soldier", and he was 15 when the US attack occurred. I could not sign up at 15 , a couple months shy, 4 months shy, 1 year shy, 1 week shy, 1 day shy. Regardless, you wish to play semantics. IN WAR one side is on the offensive and one is on the defensive. You need not play with the facts to make your point. The evidence as it stands in all court documents and testimonies states the operation clearly. The Current Afghan government of Hamid Kharzi has no need, no desire, nor legal precendent to take an unwanted foreigner prisoner, let alone one being held in US custody. Exactly why would Afghanistan want a Canadian? All true all factual, and he did this between the age of 14 and 15. You have swung full circle as you tried to justify a Canadian Soldier , trained by real soldiers starting at the age of 16. So yes, you had a 15 year old, engaging in combat missions trained by Foreign Terrorist cells to do exactly as you stated above. First the whining. I normally appreciate your posts, although I fully respect Army Guys posts. When I read your post, it has a tinge of whining to it. In other words, you are currently Whining about the outcome. No, I expect justice was served and a 15 year old enemy combatant has spent 11 years in prison, been and subjected to a very miserable existence for his actions. And there is still an 8 year conviction to be served, which was the sentence provided by the Military court. A person cannot be charged twice for the same crime. The US Military has Incarcerated, charged, convicted and sentenced the offender. The US government has decided to return him to Canada. As I said, some people don't want to accept justice. I concur completely with your statement regarding the Vets. The two issues are mutually exclusive. I cannot predict the future of Khadr, but i can recognise the failure of government to address injured vets. You like to rah rah the Conservative Government. Well I supported the previous omsbudmen who was actively supporting the Veterans and their requirements. And we know what the Conservatives did about that......
  23. It has been a constant in NDP policy/thinkers, to have a pipeline from West to East. That concept has been attacked, debunked and challenged by governments and Western Oil Producers for decades. Mulcair also campaigned on expansion and control within Canada during his leadership run. That also includes sound environmental stewardship as well as refining. The reasons stated before about the economic reasons behind NOT bringing a pipeline east remain status quo. The only things that changed is that Eastern Canada, see Pipelines going to the US (a normal occurance) and to CHINA, an abnormal occurance. And while market forces along with a Chinese National Security directive to invest and control Canadian Oil as the US does, it now stands out like a sore thumb that something is wrong with allowing the market be trumped by Nationalism of China. So yes, refining of Bitumen would occur in China and once again, only Oil Companies are going to be the true beneficiaries for Chinas Economic Security and Resource Stability. Currently buying oil off the market is more affordable for Easterners. That makes sense. However, if governments allowed markets to drive everything, the ST. Lawrence Seaway would never have been built, nor a railline to Western Canada.... So, the only reason for a West East pipeline is the same reason that the railways were established to Western Canada. National Security and stability. I believe pipelines are coming, particularly towards BC and the US regardless of the government in power. The only difference may be the wrecklessness of the approach and the size of the Chinese Migrant Labour Workforce doing the job.
  24. 1) You cannot be in the Canadian Military at 14 years of Age. A Cadet learns many things, including weapons training. They are not the legal age requirement to be a Soldier. If a Cadet was in an Armouries that was bombed, then attacked by soldiers and was then shot in the back twice, and threw a grenade to defend themselves, killing the SOLDIER that is attacking, then one must look at it in the context of war and combat. The Child Soldier, a term used to suggest that one is a CHILD not a SOLDIER, is held to a different standard then a combat trained soldier. Yes Children can kill. Yes SOLDIERS need to defend themselves from Children who may bear arms. That CHILD is NOT a soldier. The Soldiers who DID apprehend the Wounded Khader had the option to kill him as he laid there bleeding in a pool of blood. They were going to, until commanding orders overruled their action. He was taken prison and charged as an Unlawful combatant. I would call him a Child Unlawful combatant. I would call him a child. Considering many soldiers have died during combat operations, and when one goes into combat, it is KNOWN that the other sides intent is to KILL YOU, none of this should be surprising. Its not like every enemy combatant is put into prison and held indefinitely. In this case he was charged militarily and accepted a plea to admit guilt in order to be returned to Canada. After that, it was pretty clear he was going to be returned to Canada and the efforts by the government were both costly and folly. People are allow to feel however they wish about Khadr. I doubt he generates alot of sympathy in Canada. But anyone can see that a boy of 14 is still a boy, even if carrying a weapon. He has now spent 15 years as a boy and 11 years as a Prisoner, with 8 more years to go. For some people, there is no such thing as justice.
  25. So if you are smarter then the doctor, go ahead and call the Hotline and prove it. You do realize that medical evidence regarding drug abuse is higher threshold then the drug testing required to land many jobs. 1) I would suspect you are not collecting EI becuase you haven;t paid into EI to collect it or worked long enough to qualify. How much you have in savings does not affect your ability to claim EI. 2) You can do small time cash jobs while on EI. Most on EI do so and are allowed to claim that income. 3) If you have been unemployed for 6 months, I cannot see how you can bother to point fingers at those other "Lazy people" who are "blowing" job interviews. If its so ez to send out resumes and land a job interview, but choose to blow it, why aren't you getting interviewed? Are you not sending out enough resumes? I am going to have to call your bluff. You cannot collect EI for "A few years" Collectioning a "$1000" per month on EI is doable and I would say the person doing so would have previously held a position of employment for $14 an hour to do so. Hiding monies from the government while on EI is rediculous as their is no significant penalty and can extend your EI claim in many circumstances to meet the maximum length of a claim. Otherwise you can collect , depending on region 25% to 40%. I have to say. Why are these "lazy people on EI" who are Faking Resumes, Blowing Interviews, yet working more then you "under the table" yet able to collect EI for years...... you do realize that what you have stated is NOT possible. If you can prove any of what you say, its called FRAUD. If you don't believe me, I can assure you I have witnessed people who have been terminated and fined and denied the right to claim EI "Even though they will still have to pay into it", for such blatent violations. Also, I have seen innocent people put through the grinders regarding EI. I suggest you find a fulltime job. It should be EZ as you claim you are surrounded by slack and idle bags unwilling to work. EI is NOT free. You can only collect IF you pay into it. EI collects significantly more then is ever paid out. That is why the government had generated over $56Billion in Surplus. Which was then used to justify the Billions in tax cuts and "training and investment grants" that were used to relocate operations to Mexico and Overseas. I really think you need a job. As there are likely no less then 200 Temporary Employment Agencies in London, I am certain you could walk into anyone of them and start working someplace 2morrow for 50% of the wage of everyone else. If I recall correctly there is a bus that delivers unemployed workers from London and delivers them to a Manufacturing operation 1 hour from London to work nights and weekends and Afternoon shifts. If you are a hard and dedicated worker, you will find this. In the meantime, during the last 5 years, Particularly since 2009, I have helped a few dozen workers from London locate decent paying jobs. I live no where's near London, but these hardworking Job Seekers knew how to find me and where I was located and that I was good at what I do. No one gets a free ride. You are not going to get one either. What is your education background. Your Skilled Trade , or your University Degree in? What kind of upgrades have you engaged in during your 6 months out of work?
