THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SAFE NUCLEAR POWER
madmax replied to RadAreGoodForYou's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
LOL, I hope it wasn't my friends how... his was done 30 years ago, and all the projections of the power from the solar panels turned out to be enough to run his lights and the toaster in reality. Buts it cool to be first in the neighbourhood. -
I am certain that if Romney paid his fair share of taxes and others like him, Big Bird would be safe. Infact Romney could probably fund bigbird himself .... if he really cared

lmao, you score points for making me laugh and making me pull out the online dictionary so I knew why I was laughing.

Hold on here. Anyone can gain lose or neutralize their own debate performance. Debates in Canada sent Ignatieff to the Cellar and Layton to the Ceiling, and it was a simmer effect that caught hold. It didn't look major in the debate but it then framed the rest of the campaign. This debate performance has given life to a dying campaign and a spring in the step of Republican activists. I would also say the reverse is true for the Democrats. It turned momentum into quicksand and has activists scratching their heads. I do agree, that their is alot of ammo for Obama in the next debate, that came from this one. The thing is... Obama had alot of ammo coming in and didn't execute. He also didn't catch those statements while they were made in debate 1. Finally, plenty of time for either one to continue to put their foot in mouth.

So Peeves... WHY A THIRD THREAD???
-
exactly... but you might have missed the tone and meaning of the post. That said, I know people with many different allergies, like Gluton, or diseases , like Crohns, who do not receive the special diet and I have met others that do. It depends on many factors. But yes, suggesting that the amount of monies you receive doesn't allow you to buy healthy food is not a reason to receive the special diet, cause that would be true with most on OW. Its a trip to the foodbank 1 month and making it to any church breakfast/dinner/supper possible. Sad quite frankly.

Anti Pipeline Teaching Materials in BC
madmax replied to socialist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Hey, Lets Sell Leaded Gas Lets Get Rid of EFI Lets make cars heavier and more bricklike. Lets get rid of radials and use bias plies. Lets teach no science or environment. Lets teach that the world is flat Lets teach that the Sun revolves around the earth. Of course, sometimes the above is THE OTHER SIDE.... -
Yeah, thats why he was booted off the Veterans affairs Committee. Thats why he is a demoted backbencher. Because he works so hard.... Glad to see you hold a double standard for dozing off on the job. I doubt his constituents are well served by him in the least. Perhaps the biggest gift to them is that he is rarely in his riding and they will be served by hopefully hard workng staffers. People don't vote for Anders, they vote Conservative in spite of him. His riding association was DENIED the right to hold nominations to challenge him and he has been under Protective Custody of the PM ever since.

I think thats a very good question. To me, it seems like he has been pushed into it, vs someone wanting it and then gathering support, even if that support was waiting and eager to be asked. So yes, there were people who wanted him to run, and would surround him with support, but I think that is different. I can see the hesistation as he is taking over the 3rd party. This is far different the Layton wanting to lead the 5th Party and building, or Harper making a quick move to Unite the Right for the interest of obtaining government. In each case you could see "who" was driving the bus. And yes, Unless Bob Rae leaves politics, he is so full of himself and his views that he will be behind the scenes, welcome and wanted or not....

Anti Pipeline Teaching Materials in BC
madmax replied to socialist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Yes they are optional. A pipeline is to allow foreigners to drive.... and the Province of BC assume the risk. I am laughing that there are some so up in arms over this. Infact, if one is suggesting that there is only "One side" thats ok. Grab the information from the "other side" and teach the whole thing. Regardless, it has been known that companies provide "educational" materials for schools and I am certain its well balanced and covers both sides I was taught the value of the tar sands and its future for energy for Canadians. Never did I hear about an enviromental impact, nor how little of that oil would be used in Canada. Times change, mix it up. Teachers are supposed to seek information. If its NOT factual, then dispute the facts. But I don't think thats the issue. -
If he wants to continue in his position, one of the elements is to perform on stage and defend your record against challengers and call them out when false or misleading statements are made or have been made. Its also an opportunity to connect to the public with your values and visions of why you deserve another term. Its a time when the public see the President and the Challenger and not their adverstising and marketing campaigns. Romney may not be distracted by the ongoings of running a government, but Obama term could be shortlived if this is what he has to demonstrate to the American Public. In short, I would suggest a level of arrogance and not taking the challenger seriously enough and believing that the challenger would do his own damage by opening his mouth. But that didn't happen. The stereotype and formed image of Romney was not what showed up in the debate. The Slick and polished image of Obama and his ability to connect to the public also didn't show up. Anyone involved at that level of politics knows what the stakes are and what their job is to get re elected or to get elected. This one goes to Romney. No excuses just results.

LMAO, What a great Idea. And the winner of the debate could have a victory speech, changing logo'd ballcap hats all the while to make sure each sponsor gets more exposure.

Correct, Ontario has not Collected Transfer and not been dependant on transfers until the McGuinty Government. Something disputed above which infers Ontario has been dependent on transfers previous to McGuinty. Perhaps the above is a grammarical error. it wasn't ..... vs wasn't it. But I will let Fletch defend himself, and give him the benefit of the doubt if it a simple word mixup. Changing It wasn't to wasn't it, would change the context entirely.

You will get your answer soon Unmanned Copter To Measure Fukushima Radiation http://www.rttnews.com/1976577/unmanned-copter-to-measure-fukushima-radiation.aspx?type=gn&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=sitemap "The United States had carried out an aerial survey immediately after the Fukushima accident and handed over a radiation map to the Japanese government, but the latter concealed it from the public." -
By Better service, you mean jump the queu.

If there is a private health facility and you wish to pay out of your own pocket for your healthcare there is NOTHING to stop you or the private facility. Just DON'T DIP into the PUBLIC trough , with a private clinic, or private citizen to jump the queu. But you just said, its cheaper to pay for your own Eye Exam. I used to get them with my taxes. Now I get to pay out of pocket. Sorry I liked how it was before. This is your dream solution. Enjoy it.

Ontario insists on taking and taking??? So Ontario was on the take for the last 100+ years? LMAO. It was NOT transfer payments that made Ontario a "have not" province, it was because Ontario became a "have not" Province that it received transfer payments. This would be a direct result of tax revenues received by the Feds from Ontario. Therefore with the economic downturn, WAGES have DROPPED for many families thus the taxes received by the Federal government were lower per portion to the population. While the Wealthy did better the middle class suffered greatly and this fund is calculated by population. With the Decline in Unionization rates from near 30% to around 16% the wages for middle class would drop proportionally with that as well. Add the growth of lower paying new jobs and massive reduction in corporate taxesa and you have a Province running a deficit. and lower federal revenues per capita.

thanks for defending Anders. You made my day.

Erm , its not interpreted that way in law. PEI pays like New Brunswick. Health PEI says there is no law, policy or regulation currently in place to prevent abortions being performed on P.E.I., and that any qualified doctor on the Island could apply for operating room privileges to perform one. According to the current fee-for-service contract between the province and the PEI Medical Society, a doctor would be paid $151 for doing so.
