Are you just tuning in now PIK? Somehow I doubt that. Have you ever requested information via the FOI act? Time is on the investigators side. In the meantime I am going to see how many other CPC insiders take a timeout in a foreign country.

Poll shows NDP losing out to the Liberals
madmax replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I disagree with that. Omnibus bills are designed so that alot of data and policy has less time for attention to detail, discussion and debate. They were wrong when Chretien did them, and it seems that Harper has done a flip flop is now an enabler of this weak policy approach. Much like everything the Liberals have done in the past the Conservatives now do the same, only bigger and with even less regard for parliment much less the electorate -
Poll shows NDP losing out to the Liberals
madmax replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I really think this is lost on most people, and I think that is the result of the handful of batshit crazy CPC MPs that have been allowed to spread their wings of late. But going back to the Election Period, the CPC ran a very impact , low on hysterics, smallc (if I can use this term without irony to the poster) campaign. The message was simple, the goals were moderate. And quiet Frankly, it wasn't a campaign of Austerity, even though the Economic collapse was in 2008, and the recovery not yet on the horizon, the fact was the CPC ran the highest deficit in Canadian History based on the Liberal Deficit Spending projections in order to gain the 2nd party support. The CPC fiscal path has not wavered or changed, their has been a trend towards more radical right idealogy, and alot more loose nuts are coming out of the closet but the ship is still going in roughly the same direction. Slightly Centre Right. And considering Canadians tend to be Centreleft, Centre , and Right, Polarization of the electorate does not have a lasting effect as it does in the US. WIth regards to the recent polls.......... After Jack Passed Away the NDP were t o fade away. After the Leadership Campaign the NDP were to fade away After Mulcair brought the NDP numbers above the CPC , the NDP were to fade away. Now with the NDP numbers about the same as during the 2011 Election and with the LPC numbers recovering to that level, 22% range, the calls of the death of the NDP continue. Infact every paper has reported this amazing fact that the Liberals are overtaking the NDP by approaching 22%. I find this interesting and yet more proof of the bias of the Conservative and Liberal media and the slant that these "unbiased" polling firms provide. If I recall correctly the NDP was leading all parties during the summer, yet the headlines would somehow avert there eyes from this fact and move on to a different analysis. And yes after many consecutive polls, after which all the firms and corporate media had to continually make excuses for the NDP lead, after months on top, the NDp was reported to be in a Statistical tie, thankfully for the corporate Conservative and Liberal Media, they can circle the wagons around the fact that the CPC is once again in the lead, although not growing and completely unchanged in data, and the NDP has returned to its 2011 electoral outcomes. Or as someone put it months back.... Status Quo returns once the leader is choosen. -
Is the Conservative Narrative Starting to Crumble? http://www.ipolitics.ca/2012/11/19/is-the-tory-narrative-staring-to-crumble/ Here is Anita Hawdur, an Elections Canada officer, in an email a day before the 2011 election, the one in which the Conservatives are accused of attempting to rig the vote by directing voters to the wrong polling stations. “The polling station numbers given out by the Conservative Party … are all wrong,” she writes to the agency’s lawyer. Later in the day she writes again: “The workers in the returning office think these people are running a scam.” In another, she says that some returning officers are reporting that people making calls falsely identified themselves as being from Elections Canada. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Red Flags were up at EC. The level of non co-operation from the Conservatives is not surprising.

I believe it would be a foolish mistake for teachers to jump on the Liberal bandwagon. It would demonstrate to the public that their concerns are only that of self interest and not of the greater good. The Ontario LIberals have done significant damage to the economy, the labour market, and have a string of corrupt scandals involving billions and billions of boondoggles. The rest of the community is totally ticked off with the incompetent Liberal Direction, Perhaps you might wish to take into consideration that the parents of the students have been economically pained by liberal policies and disconnect. Perhaps you might realize that it is because of these grossly incompetent and often self centred decisions, that the deficits at a record high, that there is little monies for services, and that in order to mask this incompentence a "crisis" was manufactured with the teachers. But you seem all to willing to accept the incompetence. The only reason that the Liberal Leadership is considering an olive branch is once again NOT about the teachers. ITS ABOUT THE LIBERAL PARTY! Its about saving their butts. How is this any different then the decision to move the gas plants in Oakville when what was at stake was Liberal Party Seats. How is this any different then the decision to orchestrate a by election to win a minority? How is this any different then picking a fight with the teachers for Politicai gain? If you can not see that this is NOT about teachers, but continues to be about the Ontario Liberals, then you're decision to settle for the Next Liberal saviour , is infact , a sellout to the rest of Ontario.

Republican President in 2013
madmax replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Yup wrong topic. Holy REWRITE HISTORY Bush Cheney. Hinckley was targeting Carter before Reagan. It was just the transition of power that made it easier. Hinckleys entire family were Republicans. The Bushes were visiting with the Hinkleys. You of all tag lines know this.... Hinckley was a pro republican with a desire the assasinate the President. Then if you follow the Conspiracy theorists..... BUSH would have been the Successor. -

Where would you cut the Ontario Budget?
madmax replied to TheNewTeddy's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Just as we have discovered Federally by the Conservatives .... the Auditor General gets stonewalled. On top of that many of the largest Private Sector Service Providers have contracts that prevent the government from looking at their books. Can you find the waste in a P3 Hospital, or with the American Firm Servco? THis Private firm basically runs all government services. Pay them a fee and close your eyes. -
McGuinty Resigns as Premier of Ontario
madmax replied to nittanylionstorm07's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
If PM Harper had Prorogued in late 2008 and RESIGNED, you might have a point. If Dalton had Prorogued and NOT resigned then people would be demanding a pound of flesh. Right now, it seems teh public is happy he is leaving and accepting proroguing as the price of such a decision. I am not one of htose who agree with Proroguing.- 185 replies

If Harper Doesn't Care about his own Ministers involvement with Mafia, Hells Angels and Gangsters... why is Fletch worried.. Bernier had been under fire last month after Couillard’s past relationships with gangsters were revealed in national newspapers. At the time, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said that the private lives of government members were to be left in private. http://www.ipsnews.net/2008/05/politics-canada-few-mourn-fallen-foreign-minister/

The people here debating policy in this thread, are really missing whats happening. Sometimes, Winning a Debate DOES create the momentum for a Candidate to Secure the win and it will take something just as monumentous to stop it. I personally think this is over. When 78% believe that this is a WHOLE NEW RACE, those numbers are staggering. Its not that Romney won the debate, its that the public mindset has changed after the debate. It has been enough to make people take notice. Sometimes you can win a debate but really no one cares and its NOT a game changer. The first debate is a game changer... and its going to take something big to stop the run on the polls. The Shift has moved Romney into contention and in some cases a lead. This should never have happened and it would well cost Obama his presidency. People don't care , who said what, or who lied or misled. People LIKE WINNERS and in this case Romney won and It doesn't like like the Democrats have figured out they are in a far worse state then simply losing a debate. They have lost the confidence of ALOT of voters. Getting that back, is not going to be ez. This has all the make up of a RUN ON THE BANK

Anti Pipeline Teaching Materials in BC
madmax replied to socialist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
It would be easier if industries/Corporations/ didn't engage in boldfaced lies and denials combined with a degree of incompetence. That in itselfs opens the door to response. Regardless if the industry acts responsibly, the bad actors carry the tar. And people have a right to be concerned. And a right to learn. I ask that you go through the disputed literature of this thread and tell us what is online for download and non factual. I got open ears. -

What??? You have a problem with Private Corporations moving jobs to China, and China Purchasing Canadian Land (Landbanking) and resources? This is how Free Trade is supposed to work.
