  1. There in Central Nova. Things don't look good in the world of politics. But Jason Kenny seat is safe.
  2. Oh yeah. Nothing good will come of this. Does the opposition gain signing authority on the constitution?
  3. That may be so. I don't think the Liberals could win Central Nova unless there was a major sweep. I see this as neutralizing part of the Green threat and poking the NDP in the eye. You don't think so? I think that was the intent of the strategy. However this commentary from the Toronto Star Editorial suggests the results could play out differently.
  4. Joe Clark ran against a Liberal Candidate in the 2000 Federal Election Stockwell Day ran against a Liberal Candidate in the 2000 federal election The above ridings were well represented by all parties in a national federal election.
  5. May couldn't knock off a defeated Liberal in a bye election with all the winds blowing in her direction. Central Nova is going to be a different kettle of fish. I think she is toast.
  6. If that was what Jack said, I would agree with him. Here is what Jack Said that agrees with Canadian Blue. Therefore gc1765 you agree on this point. I agree with Jack. I would expect the 10,000 people in Nova Scotia whom voted Liberal would disagree with your opinion. This is a backroom deal. It is undemocratic. I think that this is obvious. You can choose to agree with the tactics or not.
  7. Harper is following through on the Liberals committment to an expanded mission of counter insurgency. Whether or not you agree with the methods employed or its results, there isn't any difference between the CPC or the LPC. So what are you suggesting? Vote for another party to keep Harper to a minority?
  8. Does anyone know, when was the last time the Liberals failed to run a candidate in all ridings in a regular federal election?
  9. The title should be "opps moment for Mays Green Party". But don't let the facts get in the way of ScottSA Spin. Regardless the article doesn't paint a good portrait of the candidate. Nobody I would vote for.
  10. I enjoy comedy. I just don't have the time for it.
  11. That's where I stopped reading. Why? Maurice Strong is well known. That said, I have a difficult time separating Fox News and Saturday Night Live.
  12. Why do you ask? Have you followed the activities of pension plans over the last 50 years?
  13. Canada and the United States have a trade agreement. If Harper wants to undermine the treaty further that is his business. From Wiki Making a dumb business decision, for the sake of getting an agreement, wouldn't matter which party was in power. This wasn't about "leftists", as much as it is about the weakness and lack of backbone Canadian Governments have. The current one included. The US lost its appeal. They Lost in their own court and violated their own laws. The Decision by the current government shows weakness and a lack of resolve.
  14. They have no nukes, yet. But who has gave them non civilian nuclear technology? Pakistan. They promote terrorism, fundementalism, dictatorship, and the spread of Nuclear technology to rogue nations. Irans, latest flexing of muscle is directly related to the incompetent actions of GWB in Iraq.
  15. Nobody believes that BS. This is the childish behaviour of Stephen Harper coming to the front. You wish to behave poorly in the sandbox with the Prime Minister, that is your choice. As for apologizing to soldiers. It never happens. I have never heard of a soldier being apologized to. The military is just starting to get a portion of federal funding increases. I recall the Conservatives getting in the way of the NDP motion to increase benefits to the soldiers. The CPC just released a budget, if they increased the benefits to the soldiers then soldiers won't require an apology from the CPC, they will have what they earned. Our MPs and PrimeMinisters behaviour is so disgracefull. It is a good thing that the vast majority of people in Canada don't watch these MPs act as misbehaving children. I do like the orderly behaviour I have been able to watch with regards to the British Parliment. I am not surprised that Scribblet condones this type of behaviour of the PM or justifies it by the previous actions of the Liberals. It shows only that Politic bias trumps good government.
  16. You don't live in Ontario, but you do wish for a federal government handout to help move your crops. Government interference is good when it suits you. You talk the talk, but you won't walk the walk.
  17. Minimum Wage Jobs in Ontario are not looking for workers. They have plenty to choose from. The increase is to provide something near a living wage for those working for the minimum wage. Your assumption that the "welfare crowd" will get a job because they will get $10 over $8 is based upon assumptions and most of those will be incorrect. You can guess or speculate but to think that an increase of minimum wage in the next 2 years is going to reduce welfare ranks is wishful thinking to say the least.
  18. Reform never go a toe hold out east did they?
  19. I thought the last CPC budget gave subsidies to the polluting oil sands which provides the fumes for the car? Sooner or later we are going to have vehicles that are powered without current level emmissions. While I am a big fan of the combustion engine, their are many different types of power available. I wonder how I would think if the electric cars of the early 1900s had been produced like Model T's. They were popular for a limited time, but there where thousands of them. Would we be complaining of all these bad batteries and what to do with them? Is the Hybrid Car going to come with a tire that can self dispose of itself .
  20. Yes, this is very adult. The counter to Liberals calling Conservatives "Right Wing Extremists" is to call Liberals "the supporters of Right Wing Extremists" . Yup, this is great. I am so impressed.
  21. Nazi Germany did horrific acts to 10s of millions of people. Don't act so smug yourself. Incompetence should not be applauded but corrected.
  22. I have heard this before somewhere? Tyranny, Checks..... you forgot balances I am not a fan of such handcuffing. You can achieve better results with with one legislature and drop the first past the post format. Regardless, Canada has been served well with one real parliment and the rubber stamp above. Dropping the Senate is a good thing. Its time to be dissolved occurred long ago. It is an unnecessary expense. I do not wish to believe that the only thing checking the Tyranny of a Harper Majority would be the Senate.
  23. Harper was rude and ignorant. Simply trying to score cheap political points for his observers. Typical Harper. O Conner is caught in a lie with his pants down. But somehow this is good for our country and troops according to the apologists here. Keep on cheering the scoring of political points while the incompetence is rewarded. There is nothing good about any of this. It always seems that when the subject comes up that can affect our country the Liberals and Conservatives are more concerned about each other then the problem. Prisoners are missing in typical Afghan fashion. Other countries have controls in place. The best answer the CPC have is to blame the Liberals. Get the controls in place. Is that too much to ask?
  24. Too bad the BQ didn't keep quiet about siding with the conservatives until AFTER Dion had his statements. It might have sounded different from Dion if he didn't know. Not wanting an election, he actually might have said he would hold his nose and support the budget.Same with Layton. It is too bad the BQ didn't keep quiet. The Liberals may have supported the budget. The battlefield is being drawn in Quebec. The CPC are feeding the Province. The BQ or the Libs could be criticised for supporting or opposing the budget in Quebec. As For Layton and the NDP. There is no benefit to NDP supporters and mainstream voters across this country whom don't live in Quebec. The regions where the NDP can get votes are British Columbia, Sask, Manitoba and Ontario. There isn't alot there for anyone. I don't know for a fact, but I don't believe there would have been NDP support for this budget under any circumstances. Therefore the Libs/BQ had to determine who was going to support the government. "Just gimme the money" won the day.
