  1. Latest Polls If I recall them correctly KW PC 34 Down 9 LIB 30 Down 6 NDP 30 Up 12 Vaugn LIB 42 PC 36 NDP 9
  2. Well, as the start of this thread shows.... some of these Private Prisons Boards need to reserve the first cell for themselves. But even thats a kickback lol..... As for the P3 model. There is a sucker born every minute.
  3. I will pay attention when I see people like Conrad Black go to prison in Canada. The rest is partizan nonsense to support private prisons. Any excuse will do.
  4. and a forum poll... NDP 35% (unchange) CON 31% (-4) LIB 22% (+3) BQ 6% (=) GRN 5% (+2) http://www.forumresearch.com/forms/News%20Archives/News%20Releases/38209_Canada-wide_-_Federal_Political_Issues_%28Forum_Research%29.pdf
  5. Can't be right all the time lol.... Besides I too thought Martin was from Quebec On another note, seems the polling companies have been quiet this summer. THus the thread drift. I am going to check to see if there's one kicking around that I missed.
  6. Its a corrupt and scandalized government. The monies are there...
  7. If you REALLY want an answer. Put your email in writing and snail mail it. 90% of the time you will get a response from an MPP. However, if your query is ignored or overlooked again, email or mail another mpp.
  8. Um, Supply management did exist for certain products and its only just recent that the west has changed. I understand why a part timer farmer isn't interested in supply management. Other jobs will keep the business afloat if the risk fails. Ironically, the east has just moved towards supply management. Pro Business operation are great when times are good. Always greed prevails. But once it hits the fan.... Its bailout time....
  9. Interesting, the farmers I know were dirt poor in the 60 and previous decades, but very self reliant. Strange thing in the late 60s and 70s Farmers became millionaires and those became some of the most powerful small business operations in Ontario. Only difference I have seen is the move from Family to Factory Farms, Its nothing like it was. That said, Ontario farms have used a dual Market for many decades while that has not been the case in the west. The Farmers here made their choice. It has its pros and cons. I'd say today Ontario Farmers are dependent upon about a Dozen corporations Dictating to them and the government does what the corps want. So you could be right.
  10. Thats not a secret agenda. Its taking the position of blocking Elections Canada Information from the courts. Perhaps its irrellavent info, perhaps its embarrasing information. As Fantino is so prone to say... if you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't be afraid of disclosing information to the courts.
  11. Either you have a trade deficit, trade surplus or balanced trade (Breaking even)...
  12. Considering your methodoly is pure guess and speculation based on a garbage in , garbage out , I still commend you on your attempt. However..... If you use the same methodology for the financial sector as a comparision, at least you can compare your both sectors using the same methodology regardless of its accuracy the difference between two things will be of interest. Right now, it looks like peanuts ...compared to the sectors I am most familiar with, so perhaps something is wrong in your calculations...
  13. I recall the Conservatives telling Ontario Farmers the would abide by the wheat board vote. At the same time, PCs in Ontario were supporting the expansion of supply management to other sectors because of its success... I figure Supply management will be gutted in some trade deal and those farmers will be SOL. Pork farmers were crushed in teh market and asked for supplymanagement just got it and I expect to see it killed by Conservatives and even Liberals for that matter. Its all great when the gravy is coming in, but once hard times hit.... We all know what happens. You either believe in and support supply management or you don't. It was the best way to keep farmers independant , and not having to rely on the government during tough times. LIve by the sword die by the sword I guess...hmm maybe that should say plough shares???
  14. Erm... FYI all 7 kids mentioned in my example turnout exceptionally well. A kid has to be very crafty and smart to get through without learning how to read.... and once it was discovered.... well, you can imagine the extra effort put forth to get her up to speed...
  15. Like I said, Any public servant would oppose the Wisconsin Agenda. As for getting nit picky... The Budget Surplus is another accounting scam. If you don't pay down your debt you can run a budget surplus and defer the costs to a later date at a higher payment, which is what Walker is doing. Thus a "Projected" budget surplus for 2012 of 89million will actually incurred 150 Million in interest. He can look like a Hero today and a Zero after the next election, or the next governor gets to eat the crap along with you kids. But thats a digression.... "Therefore, in total, since May 2011, the state has issued additional debt to restructure, or make the principal payments on, approximately $558.3 million in GPR (general purpose revenue) supported principal that would have otherwise been paid off in 2010-11 and 2011-12. "As a result, that principal will now remain outstanding for a longer period of time and thus an estimated $156.2 million in additional interest costs could be incurred by the state."
  16. You might be right. But who did McGuinty take to the dance? Those teachers organized and pulled off a number of skin of the teeth wins over PC and NDP candidates. Without their support the minority might have been a a "Minor" Minority or even a PC minority. What will matter is the publics take and I think he will take on the teachers in the fall when the Kids are in school and the public will be ticked if their is even threatened strike action. I think the difference with the Air Traffic Controllers is that their parents didn't have to come home and make arrangements for their kids when they went on strike. That inconviences says volumes .... However, if their is no strike or a forced agreement..... Certainly many Teacher activists and mobilisers will stay home and some will turn to the NDP. I think only a fool teacher would bother wasting time with Hudak because of his Wisconsin Agenda. Which might be the difference from 95 as many teachers actually helped put Harris in Power as they were fed up with the Rae NDP previous ....And they thought they thought things would be more like when Davis was in power.
  17. School Closures and Thousands of Retired Teachers getting MAXIMUM HOURS AND WEEKS PER YEAR, acting as substitute teachers while collecting an pension and the young ones can't seem to get in the door. And then their are all the tech shops being closed to keep costs down. Truly sad and incompetent choices.
  18. Depends where you live. I would say Ontario Had the best Public School system up until Mike Harris created a friggin mess. Its been Patched up but nothing like the good old days. It might be in this regards that I think Premier Davis excelled above and beyond all premiers regarding primary secondary and even post secondary school system. Fix Public Education, change the funding formula, make it accessible to rural schools, basically undo all the Harris F*K ups and fewer people would be looking for other options. I recall Music Equipment being brought in during my shcol years and never having seen an orchestra before, not knowing a clarinet, and learning how to do a drum riff was a blast. I was in Grade 7 when this occurred. By the time my nephews got in, Harris gutted this kind of stuff, portable shut down and all equipment given away or melted down I guess. Harris was the biggest IThead of a Premier when it came to education. I think he was a failure as a teacher and was bitter, if I was giving a Freudian opinion.
  19. I know many parents that home school, they are not Neo Con, many are Socialists who don't believe in the corporatizing of the public school system and much of the inferior Americanized Standardized testing nonsense. That said, problems can occur as one of my Social Conservative friends homeschooled 7 of her children, with the biggest surprise being one making / faking it to the age of 12 and not learning how to read. I don't believe in banning homeschooling.... I think parents should be involved in their childrens education... I don't think I need to subsidize it though.
  20. Sounds like the Oil corps are looking more for a free ride in BC. Its called INSURANCE. But I would need Guyser to set me straight.
  21. Yeah,my era and my friends era..especially the 90s. It was close to yelling bang at times. That said, everything was cut in the 90s and all were told to make due and the economy recovered. Libs continued in their ways of committment in the 2000s increased missions on the McGuyver thread. Regardless the Conservative should not be given a blank cheque for incompetences in military spending.
  22. Yes, I believe it was WWWTTs response and I believe their is a big difference between consumer spending and consumer confidence as the one can be backed by empircal data. The other is a rating If I understand how it works.
  23. LMAO.... you are struggling. Its ok to have an opinion, but you aren't going to sell off your opinion as supported fact unless you provide the facts to support it. Shady, you have been eating your own crow the last while...because this is how you like to do things and I can see you don't like it when its done back to you.
  24. I think Quebec is the Only Province where if you are a member of the Federal NDP you are a member of the Provincial NDP, but as there is no Provincial NDP in Quebec....Its not possible there.
