? Not because his life is more important, but because the Taliban will target him and that in and of itself could cause additional casualties. Window dressing is not worth anyone else's life. Funny you think so though. He is being pulled out now that it has been leaked and he should be. The Taliban and AQ have been using the western press as their largest weapon for a few years now. This would be their Hail Mary. Best to depreive them of any hope.

Fine, you find it ridiculous. It doesn't make it untrue though. put aside your nationalism that won't allow you to discuss this logically and think about the subject.

rights violated during vehicle search
White Doors replied to Wilber's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
FTA, I hear what you are saying about protecting our rights and all but couldn't this be argued as inevitable discovery? it was only in a brown paper bag, the same one you keep booze in? I think the razor cut a little close to the edge on this one. Cops have a right to search a car without a warning if they suspect drugs or booze. They definitely suspected booze here, so why are they drugs thrown out? I can see if they were searching for booze and they found evidence of trax invasion or something equally unrelated.. -
Nearly 3 million Americans in Jail

Don't do the crime and you won't do the time. -
i have never stated if I am a theist or not because I don't know myself. I certainly do not mock people because they do believe. One can believe in all facets of science and still believe. Einstein did. Oh wait, you're smarter than him. sorry. forgot. thanks for showing your fundamentalist colours again.

What went wrong for Hillary Clinton?

Science tells us that? Funny, i thought that was how we measured a year? the orbit around the sun? I thought that science told us that we have days because the Earth has a rotation? you know, spinning on it's axis? Do you know why we have seasons Drea? I think Drea should spend some more time on science and less time ridiculing someone's beliefs. That way she may be a bit more knowledgeable on these things. If you were on 'Are you smarter than a 5th grader' you would definitaley have to say 'NO'

Yep, good news. I don't agree with what he did, but he has alot of empathy from me. Clearly he did not need to be in Jail any longer. He already served too much time.

Why? isn't that self evident? Because of the holocaust and the brutal discrimination that they have faced in every society that they have been a part of for thousands of years. Why can't the jews have a country of their own? The Christians do. The Muslims do. Do you agree that the Jews should be able to have one, just one? Do you agree that in light of the severe persecution that they faced that is unique in the history of man that it is too much to ask that they are afforded their own country? If so, why?

What connection? The religions of Judaism has been based in this area for millenia. Here are some rhetorical questions for you to answer: What connections does the Muslim faith have to Israel if any? Is it valid? When did the term 'palestinians' come about? What country are the palestinians really from? What motivates someone to down-play the holocaust? What motivates someone to make a connection between 'Zionism' and Nazi's?

Well.... When was the last time you were in the hospital? And it's go tnothing to do with 'saving bucks' here and there and everythign to do with the level of service you get. We need the public system we have now and a parallel private one as well. As far as our troops are concerned, have you asked THEM how they feel? Remember it was the liberals who committed the troops there and it was the liberals who have decimated the forces over the years. In fact, the conservatives have gone on a wild spending spree for upgrading our capabilities and it's about time. But your target for villification of the state of our armed forces is on the wrong party.

An underwhelming budget to be sure. I like the inititatives but I do wish they would go to trying to simplify the tax code a wee bit. Seems every year it gets more and more comolicated with more and more loopholes. I still like Andrew Coyne's postcard tax filing idea.

you sure CN owns the lines? Thought they had a lease agreement with the govt? i speed frieght will encourage less trucks on the road, facilitate just in time inventory etc etc..

I would think that strong infrastructure spending would be a win-win-win. it is a core government responsibility and it makes sense. Let's explore and get serious about high speed rail for the Que - ONT corridor. Not just for passenger but freight as well. Can help with out competitiveness. Can be sold to help the environment and helps Canadians get t know each other better. I like it. I also think that a single national regulator is in the nations interest. I also think that carrots and sticks should be dangled and brandished to encourage interprovincial trade. other than this, I'd like increasing, steady reductions and simplifications to the income tax act. love watching on budget day! going home early to 'work from home'

So who was the wacko who voted no?
-
I'm surprised no one has made a thread on this yet. Love budget days! Discuss!

the same way that I look at people who don't tolerate other people being different - like idiots. it's a free country I suppose.

What harm has religion brought to children? How does it differ from the harm brought on by the belief in Santa Claus? What is it of your business how people choose to bring up their children? Where do you get off even thinking that you have the right to cntrol the thoughts and beliefs of others? have you ever seen a police state that you didn't like? Is minority report your favourite movie of all time?

I don't eben know if I am a theist, but thanks for trying to pigeon-hole me. You don't see the irony of this? It's called faith. I can't understand that people have 'faith' in the future of humanity despite all of the suffering humanity has wrought unto itself in the last 100 years. I understand and even admire it. I do not ask them to explain themselves and ridicule them when they don't present 'concrete reasoning'. To do so would be pompous, bombastic, illogical and rude. You predict the future accurately and then I will find you a theist to explain their faith with 'concrete reasoning'. lol some people just refuse to see further than their nose will point them. sad really.

OMG. You are the absolute most obtuse poster on this board. You make a hyperbolic post that almost always has absolutely NOTHING to do with the truth, ignore all of the well thought out and reasoned posts and just come back with more. Welcome to my ignore list once and for all. You join such esteemed company as Oleg, jdobbin and now yourself.

haha I have never seen someone get so thoroughly trashed in a thred before, especially the OP! lol good job. She had it coming with that very dumb OP!
-
Simple really. An atheist that deny's or ridicules another right to be a theist, is a fanatic. simpel really. Why are you being so dense about this? Do you consider Stalin to have been a moderate?

So to you the problem with communism was the leaders, but not the adherants? Your line is getting fuzzy and what waws your point again? Was it, religion is bad, not as bad, bad as it was but bad. Bad enough that you seemingly want to trample human rights and ban it? Child abuse? That's what you are advocating, right? And you sreiously want people to be afraid of religion when you are preaching here that it should be banned? are you serious? Drea, let me know when you are able to keep up and I will respond in kind.

Accumulated deficit? You mean the debt? Canada's debt still out weighs America's on a GDP basis. Does that make us poorer or richer?
