Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian

Meaning: It's ok for organized religion to critize and not ok for others to do the same. -
Should Canada Recognize Kosovo Independence?
daniel replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm sure we don't want our Harper government repeating the mistake of the Mulroney government when they prematurely recognized the new Soviet Government in 1991. It would be wise for Harper to wait for the US response first. -
HOW MUCH SHOULD IMMIGRANTS ASSIMILATE TO CANADIAN CULTURE
daniel replied to iForgot's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Option #1 and #4 are actually the same. Why would anybody in his right mind even entertain such a poll? -
I wonder if the original question was referring to Aryan-whites, Semite-whites, Mediterranean-whites or other-whites? All of whom, we have already determined, in another thread to be of African-descent.

"Ceremonial" Office gone CHANEY LITERALY FIRED.
daniel replied to Oleg Bach's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Ah, denial at its finest. Almost ranks up there with Bush not linking Iraq to 911. -
If we want to discuss this topic on the basis of anthropology and DNA, the how far back in time should we go? All of current humanity as we know it are descendants from 500 people from Africa. So the title should be changed to "Africans were here first - and still are." Just by setting foot on a location does not lay claim to ownership. Leif Eriksonn had made temporary settlement in Newfoundland and then left. The Chinese have visited the west coast North America and then left. There may even be some evidence of Chinese influence amongst the Miq'mak. Even today, I have personally set foot in many open-houses. How relevant would it be for me to lay claim to all of them now? Even if it's a matter of who took over control or who is currently changing the culture of a certain society can we say for all of the Normans, the Anglo-Saxons, the Danes, and the Celts to leave the UK? For it was the Iberians who were there first.

So you think that private-sector solution to low-income housing was a success? It took $400billion of taxpayers money to step in anyways. Yeah, and the Bush Administration was so fiscally responsible the USD plummetted under them. Only if the next president were Republican can GWB look good again. You can see the trend where each subsequent Republican President gets worse and worse - Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Bush - look for Dan Quayle in the 2012 election.

U.S. Presidential Elections 2008
daniel replied to moderateamericain's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Looks like some people are still looking for those WMDs. So much for the private-sector solution of low income housing, eh? In the end the taxpayers still have to bail those corporations out. -
Interesting discussion over the usage, meaning or interpretation of the word "bailout".. Reminds me of similar discussions whether or not Bush linked Iraq to 911 as described in his speech to Congress. That's precisely why Harper stated that 2008 will be challenging - so that when it does happen it won't look like he was to blame (wanna guess how quickly the blame wil be on the Liberals?) Also, the costs to fix the conservative damage will be billions and billions and guess who's going to be opposed to this type of spending? They'll be looking for a "made in Canada solution" instead.

1 in 5 people in Canada are now immigrants
daniel replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It's no coincidence that Canada has been consistently listed amongst the top ten countries in which to live - sometimes even in the top five. However, I'm sure that nipper-tipping is one activity that's a factor in keeping us from reaching #1 status. An activity I'm sure some members of this forum don't condemn. -

A trolling strawman. -

I just glad the views of this forum aren't reflected in the general population. I look forward to the day when the term "visible minority" is irrelevant because then everybody will be one. -

Don't hold your breath. They are right-wingers as well. Just be glad the views of this forum doesn't reflect that of the general population. -
And you have the authority to comment about government because....?

Actually it was Mike Harris and his conservatives that "would rather have working families travel great distances or place their kids in unregulated unlicensed care than lose their election issue." They cancelled the NDP's early childcare education plan that included daycare. It was also the Federal Conservatives who cancelled the Liberal National Daycare program so please refrain from all your misrepresentations.

No apology from liberal MP sued by Mulroney
daniel replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Down from twenty and closing-in fast. -
This would apply to the rest of the world too. So yes, the elimination of militant and military activity would solve 99% of the world's problems.

As stated by others, it was the Conservatives themselves. When they previously reached a high, some of the people on this forum were elated and hopeful. That's when the Conservatives started implementing Conservative policies (lite) and the general population didn't like it even with a leaderless opposition. Only when they started implementing nonConservative policies did their popularity rise again. Now, it's Mulroney as only one factor plus more Conservative policies: no effort to retrieve ex-patriot Canadians from capital punishment; Frivolous GST cuts; municipalities Afghanistan mention of eliminating the gun registry

What foresight the opposition had. Naturally, the government would drag its feet. Because it's not about the Liberals, right?

This is supported by a study released October 2006. I used to have the link but it's gone. It was reported in the Toronto Star Oct. 16th that kids who whine the most grow up to be conservatives.

That was a wake-up call. Remember the last time they were approaching majority-territory? Same thing.
