  1. I did hear today that the terrorists are threatening to bomb schools and churches if the Lebanese army doesn't surrender. I wonder if the U.N. will condemn the Lebanese Army for their UN convoy being hit in the Pals. refugee camp - imagine if it were Israel - I can hear it now.
  2. And giving out money in order for them to stay compartmentalized LOL
  3. Unbelievable is right!! He was speaking in terms he knew that most probably his listeners could relate to, whether Satan exists or not is a moot point, he knew what to say to the crowd. Funny thing about all this anti Christian fervour, is that at some point we have to draw on our beliefs or what we've been taught, at least the majority of us do. There are objective rights and wrongs (e.g. we don't murder people and we don't steal etc..). The point is that we know many of those Church teachings are correct and we know that our laws are based on those teachings, and really, who cares if a leader uses 'Satan' as a means to rally the troops. It seems to me that there has been no other time in north american history where Christians have experienced so much hate. Most of it has been the last few years and is again, anti-Christian bias is part of the Bush Derangement Syndrome. Maybe when Bush leaves office they will calm down a bit LOL cheers
  4. The only people who would suggest that are those who are no friend of Israel... twisting and spinning facts are their reality.
  5. Now that's funny, as in LOL - interfering in Canadian politics - as in - excercising their democratic right just as you do
  6. Does anyone think that Gore might be thinking about a run for President ?
  7. It must be pretty hard on the average Lebanese who only want peace and to go about their business without having their lives hijacked by radicals. Now all it needs is for Hezbollah to get in on this, wonder who they will support - the gov't or the radicals. Maybe they would be happy to contribute to a little bit of destabilization.
  8. I wonder if the CPC booklet is as good or as bad as the opposition's too bad we can't read theirs.
  9. I agree, but it might also be a good idea to ignore some people. I don't normally use the ignore button because it takes away from the whole thread, and can be a bit silly, but I've decided in light of the recent inane comments about myself to start using it. You can still read them if you choose, but it saves time scrolling by. Summer is coming (I think) and a good time to take a break.... -
  10. what is boring is the accusation that the lefties hate the cons.... it's the old neo-con trick of if you don't like our policies you're anti american to question the government is our right and only brainwashed idiots will call that" despising the government" All you have to do is go to the above mentioned sites and read some of the posts there, hate is the right word. check this out http://tinyurl.com/yp2fh6 N.Beltov and that's minor to what else is said.
  11. I think they are allready intimidated, we really don't like to offend anyone, not even the radical genocidal types. Besides, as soon as our soldiers are hurt or killed, they'll want to pull out. Not that I want to see our soldiers dying, I don't, but they will be. Besides, the proposed UN peacekeeping force is no guarantee that they will be able to bring about peace and keep it. They would need a much larger force and use different rules of engagement.
  12. Obviously he does or he wouldn't have posted it.
  13. Gee, still havn't blamed Israel yet.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6675163.stm Lebanese troops and Islamist militants have clashed in the city of Tripoli for a second day, after earlier violence left about 50 people dead. Troops shelled Fatah al-Islam positions around the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp, the focus of much of Sunday's fighting. More than 20 soldiers and 20 militants were killed in Sunday's clashes, and an unconfirmed number of civilians. It was Lebanon's bloodiest internal fighting since the country's civil war ended 17 years ago. The information minister said troops would hunt down the Islamist group. cont....
  14. Gee, don't let your imagination run wild, but then, you havn't graduated from Creative Thinking 101 yet- that's a personal attack by the way and you might want to take a look at your posts castigating other people for exactly what you are doing now. LOL
  15. I wonder how much you'll see of this on the news, not a lot I bet as they can't blame the civilian deaths on Israel. Wonder if Green Helmet man will be there for his propaganda movies. http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/topstori..._140144830.html Lebanese tanks pounded the headquarters of a group with suspected links to al Qaeda in a Palestinian refugee camp near Tripoli Sunday after the northern city's worst clashes in two decades killed 22 soldiers and 17 militants. The clashes between troops surrounding the Nahr el-Bared camp and Fatah Islam fighters began early in the morning shortly after police raided a militant-occupied apartment on a major thoroughfare in Tripoli and a gunbattle erupted, witnesses said. Hundreds of Lebanese applauded as army tanks shelled the camp -- a sign of the long-standing tensions between some Lebanese and the tens of thousands of Palestinians who took refuge from fighting in Israel over the past decades. (Watch civilians, soldiers scurry as the sound of gunfire fills the streets of Tripoli ) "We strongly back the Lebanese army troops and what they are doing," said Abed Attar, a resident of Tripoli who stood watching the tanks fire into the camp while others cheered. Ten militants were killed in the building in Tripoli and seven in the refugee camp, security officials said. They said 22 soldiers had also been killed. The violence adds one more destabilizing factor to conflict-ridden Lebanon, already in the midst of its worst political crisis between the Western-backed government and pro-Syrian opposition since the end of the 1975-90 Lebanese civil war. It was a rare clash between the Lebanese army and militants and the first major fighting between the security forces and Palestinians since the early 90s when troops fought Palestinian guerrillas in Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp in southern Lebanon. pictures here: http://www.lebanese-forces.org/tripoliclashes052007.htm
  16. Texas. Source please, and was it a one off miscarriage of justice or what.
  17. Taliban jack and his ilk are more likely to think that the US is the enemy, and I suspect lots of them secretly entertain thoughts in the back of their mind about invading the US. Yeah, they are after the oil and those nasty Dominionists LOL
  18. Notice the press is using senior/anonymous Liberals as their source, an indication of infighting. I hate to see what type of affirmative action and disdain for democracy we might look forward to.
  19. They do need some kind of arrangement and clean up their act in question period anyway.
  20. There is absolutely no other reason for these murders than religion. Religion, which religious people have admitted on this forum, is based on nothing more than faith in unprovable things has caused the torture, suffering and deaths of these people. Why do we continue to provide special privileges for these superstitions? Why do they require respect? Why are we not demanding people justify and defend religious belief when things like this are happening around the world? I'm not sure that this was based on a religious belief, it was an 'honour killing', wonder how they tie in supporting such a backward hatefilled piece of medieval savagery with the use of modern cell phones etc. The people who did this and those who support them are sub-human, and today there is no equivalency with any other religion that I know of. This group are zidi which is supposed blend various concepts from multiple religions. There are Christians extremeists who have gone after abortion doctors, but they are a minority, and there is a big difference between radical Islam and the west. We do not consider these people to be martyrs, nor do we praise them when they kill for their beliefs. We catch them and put them on trial and punish them, we (including Christians) o not justify these actions when caught we put them on trial and punish them. I would suggest that there are way more Imams et al in mosques around the world who preach violence and hatred and an Islamist supremacist message than any other religion, in fact, I doubt that there is any equivalence with any other religion in sheer magnitude.
  21. Is this a Liberal pulling dirty tricks, say it isn't so. Maybe it is simply in keeping with Dion's promise of stacking the nominations with women. http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/columni...08-29f1878d73d6 Liberal camp set 'to blow very shortly' Kennedy supporters accused of dirty tricks as party tries to have more women elected OTTAWA - Marva Wisdom would have been Stephane Dion's ideal candidate as part of his drive to ensure that one-third of Liberals running at the next election are women: she is young, black, smart, with a long background in the party as its national policy chair. Unfortunately, for Ms. Wisdom -- and perhaps Mr. Dion -- she lost the nomination for the riding of Guelph to lawyer Frank Valeriote.
  22. This is interesting as I believe it highlights the problems with over crowding and far too lenient immigration system and also gives us an idea of how too many people can put a real strain on any system, particularly a socialist type. Britain is overcrowded and is going to have to rethink how it allocates house, there just isn't enough to go around. David Davis the home secretary has said that: "The failure to control our borders hasn't just led to more crime and less secure streets. "It's also let down a lot of honest, hard-working immigrants who came to this country with something to contribute." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/6673911.stm Call for migrant housing rethink Minister Margaret Hodge has said UK families should get priority over immigrants for council housing. She said a "transparent" points system giving weight to length of residence, citizenship and national insurance contributions would be fairer. Mrs Hodge, who was born in Egypt, said rules should "promote tolerance rather than inviting division". The Refugee Council said arrivals from new EU states had limited access to benefits, and condemned the comments. Industry ministry Mrs Hodge, writing in the Observer, said "difficult questions" had to be debated.
  23. Its too simplistic to tell people to move or sell a vehicle. A lot (too many) are in debt up to their eye balls, they can't sell without losing on their vehicle. If they moved closer to where they work, which is likely a city, then they won't be able to afford the higher cost. One thing I've wondered about is why they don't produce more cars with manual transmissions, its rare to find automatics in Europe.
  24. All I can say is wow - you've got some of those radical Islamists beat
