  1. Alcan, Loblaws....alcan at loblaws Nope - Dominion and the Dominionists LOL
  2. Really, how could anyone in their right mind even suggest that - mein gott -thats just delusional
  3. It sure isn't a bad thing, its just the start of reforming the Senate. The next step will be elected Senators.
  4. Methinks Figleaf is using the deaths of single soldiers to make a political point of his own. In a particularly despicable manner.
  5. That's a joke right - I can't believe you said that seriously. I spend 4.5 months of the winter down there, and as far as I'm concerned there is little difference between us, the biggest difference would be the attitude towards gun control and socialized health care, that's about it I think the Liberal canucks who go down there would be a bit taken aback at your comments. And dang, when we all go out for dinner, happy hours or go to dances you can't tell us apart, heck, we even all look alike.
  6. Good analogy. What is sad is how some people need to distort history in order to justify Arab war crimes and terrorism against Israel and Israelis.
  7. Noam Chomsky advocates for a one state solution, not sure if he still does.
  8. It was a hoax.
  9. I certainly don't feel threatened, never have, and the U.S. is hardly a theocratic state, far from it. The fact that there is a congressional investigation into this shows that it is not usual practice to choose by religious loyalties, and it is not condoned. I don't see anyone changing their constitution either, and Bush certainly won't try it, he can't, he's outa there. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." This is all chicken little stuff from liberals who are doing nothing but trying to put the fear of God into everyone before the next election (pardon the pun).. Can't wait to hear how the Dominionists are out shopping to take over the world either.
  10. Actually, I'd like it abolished. How is that for Senate reform? That is long overdue. All of the provinces got rid of their upper houses. Why not the federal government? In any event, if they plan on doing anything, wouldn't it be appropriate to ask the provinces, open it up to hearings rather caveat acts? I wouldn't be against abolishing it either as long as something is done about it. He could require that elected senators, on condition of appointment, to resign after a certain period and run for re-election but it probably wouldn't pass a court test. When can you ever get the provinces to agree on anything, they would just use the opportunity for a power play.
  11. More of the famous imputing. Nobody here has said they want Israel to fall. You are like Chicken Little. Not in so many words, but its implied, just as the left appears to want the U.S. to fail. There is no other explanation for not wanting or expecting Israel to defend itself. Many on the left seem to regard Israel as the cutting edge of evil while supporting Palestinion or other Arab aggression and attacks.
  12. I wonder if they ever agree to peace and attain nationhood they could get along with each other and build a prosperous nation. IMHO they will continue fight each other using bombs instead of brains.
  13. So everyone else is to blame except the squeaky clean natives Gee, I wonder what would have happened if natives hadn't set up blockades, occupied a provincial park, firebombed buildings, assaulted people, drove a native school bus into the military drill hall, and took possession of the base after defence staff fled. What would have happened if they hadn't driven a bus toward police, followed by a another car which actually rammed four police officers, and generally staged militant mayhem in the community....geee everyone to blame but the natives and years of Liberal inaction on native issues.
  14. I don't see any evidence of good government. If the Tories really believe that, open the debate to a constitutional hearing. Otherwise, it is pure politics. Don't expect everyone to swallow that what Harper is offering is an improvement. Really, most people want to see some reform and sure do object to a life long cushy position almost for life...Most people object to these high cost salaries and benefits and want change, its a long time overdue.
  15. Nonsense, there's no point to 'banning hand guns' , its allready a restricted weapon and criminals will get them anyway. Paul Martin tried that tactic as a last ditch desparate measure to get votes, Dalton McGuinty is trying to do the same thing. There's an election coming and he's trying to get the monkey off his back and put it onto the feds - nothing but a diversion tactic. What we need is tougher sentencing, but mandatory sentencing for the use of a gun during a crime is being held up by the Liberals, even though its watered down. And Remember this one from the Liberals - hmmm "Liberal government will reintroduce legislation to crack down on violent crimes and gang violence, and to double the mandatory minimum sentences for serious gun-related crimes. The effect of that is that there would be an eight year mandatory minimum of mandatory minimums."
  16. Maybe they snuck in Barbara Streisand to sing for them, and they don't want anyone to know LOL maybe she really supports Bush
  17. This is dated 2005, I suppose a good old fashioned flogging is okay too and at least they'll get a speedy trial, moved right up to the head of the line. http://www.iranfocus.com/modules/news/arti...hp?storyid=3613 Iran Focus Tehran, Iran, Sep. 06 – Women who violate Iran’s strict Islamic dress code will be flogged immediately, prosecutor’s offices in provincial centres announced on Tuesday. In the central Iranian city of Shahin-Shahr, the prosecutor’s office posted huge notices on billboards and shop windows warning women that dress code violators will appear before an Islamic judge immediately after arrest to receive a sentence, usually 100 lashes in public. The prosecutor will be demanding maximum penalties, the notice warned. “Individuals whose state of attire and make-up is against religious laws in public will be prosecuted without having to first wait in a queue and will be sentenced to flogging and fines”, the statement said. “Scarves which do not cover the hair and neck”, “tight overcoats or coats that which finish above the knees and whose sleeves cover to a point higher than the wrist”, “tight trousers which do not cover the calf of the leg”, and “women’s make-up” are all forbidden, according to the statement, which added that failure to adhere to the dress code would be dealt with accordingly. Women whose scarves do not properly cover up their hair will face between 10 days to 10 months in prison, the statement added.
  18. I think you've hit the nail on the head JBG, obviously Palestinian or terrorist supporters want Israel to fail, they want that 'suicide pact'. Many agitate for a one state solution which we know would be the absolute end of Israel and democracy.
  19. I voted for number 1, although I don't think they should be deported after only 12 months, especially if they are supporting themselves. I wouldn't object to a longer waiting period for medical coverage, and no welfare benefits if they have never contributed to the system.
  20. Pretty stupid and shallow comment. The veterans benefit package hasn't been upgraded since the 90s, and now its been brought to the attention of the gov't they are changing it.
  21. That is disgusting -dobbin should be ashamed of himself, these types of comments are simply indicative of a general lowering of tone on these boards, and its hard not to respond in kind. Where's the moderator when you need one.
  22. As much as I'd like to see Iran get theirs, I don't think bombing them is the answer, it would be the start of something much larger that we don't want. They are probably doing to tick off the U.S. and know that no one wants to start a large scale war. One analyst has called it a game of of "managed chaos," just enough to bloody America's nose in Afghanistan. Sounds logical for Iran.
  23. You have a right to disagree, but you obviously havn't read the rules about respecting other peoples opinions, just because you don't agree with a piece doesn't make it wrong, just because you say there's nothing factual or relevant doesn't make it so. I would also say that you bring nothing to the enjoyment of a discussion and are continully castigating people for their comments. Your opinion is not necessarily right or factual and I think in the interests of bringing the forum back to its former higher level, it would be best if I put you on ignore, and have done so. You bring nothing to the discussion other than besmirching other people's opinions, you need to look in a mirror. have a great day
  24. http://unclemeat.wordpress.com/2007/05/21/...minists-silent/ Iran Beats Women Over Dress Code - Feminists Silent I posted two links, one used the title. As for selective blogs or whatever, of course its selective, you would rather someone posted every article on the net or what? Maybe you would care to prove that the woman or women were not beaten or maybe the point is, you et al don't really care. You really are going to a whole lot of trouble to try and divert and discredit anything that doesn't agree with pro Iranian or terrorist ideology. I really don't get the fuss over posting this news, or maybe I do. It doesn't fit in with the left wing mantra that M.E. good - west is bad.
