      IM pretty sure he got out becuase the Egyptians let him go when they were damn well good and ready, perhaps if Trudeau had been in charge and had been extra super nice and cuddly to the Egyptians he would have gotten out sooner, these are things children believe.

      The reason the Aussie got out is because he was solely an Aussie citizen. Fahmy and the other guy were both Egyptian citizens, and thus were considerd to be worthy of special treatment from the Egyptians, which they got.
