  1. You are right on that one. but here's the deal. Rae is the only one who has a chance of stopping a Conservative majority in the spring. Iggy, Kennedy, Dion. All chewed up and spit out by the Conservative machine. At least Kennedy is young and will be around to fight another election in 2010. Rae might hold the Conseratives to a minority. Doesn't gain ground in the west or the maritimes. Maybe makes some inroads in Quebec. In Ontario. things pretty much stay as they are. Cities lean NDP, vote for Rae. Rural areas. No fond memories of Rae days...
  2. You had to throw in Newfoundland to hold your little theory together. No I haven't campaigned in Newfoundland, but Rex didn't specify his ridiculous statement about not door-knocking between 2 and 5 was specific to the Rock. So my theory still holds.
  3. There is a reason why McKenna, Tobin and Manley all bowed out. Been more like the last 40 years that the Liberals have been running election campaigns with no real attempt to appeal to the West, if not actively campaigning against us.
  4. Yeah. Such is life. Just have to keep fighting for the best interests of the country. Another Liberal government right away would be a terrible, terrible blow to the country.
  5. Such as? Links? Quotes? Dates?
  6. Exactly. Opposition MPs must be treated with respect and dignity by Conservative MPs at all times. But if it is a Conservative MP it's fair game. That is what you are saying, isn't it?
  7. Guaranteed you wouldn't hear the outrage from the Liberal woman's caucus, you or any of the other anti-Harperistas on this board who have kept at this story even thought it isn't news anymore...
  8. Please quit the personal insults. You set up a false analogy and I ignored it. No reason to attack me for not allowing you to frame the debate. No he didn't call her a dog. It isn't that plain and simple. "he referenced it and redirected it" how is that plain and simple?
  9. After dropping out of university she worked at a company with $20 Billion annual revenues for just seven years before becoming a Vice President. This was nepotism plain and simple. Pretty sad trying to cry sexism in this case. Oh yeah, all those boards she sat on ... was because of her position at Magna.
  10. That is one of the reasons she crossed the floor. She was used as an example of how NOT to perform in a media opportunity. Poor Belinda. Because of her bad choice she has to use Daddy's money to pay for her limo and driver instead of government money.
  11. It does in some people's eyes. The term "Natural Governing Party" could only be borong out of a sense of arrogance and entitlement.
  12. What he said was "you already have her." Tempest in a teapot. Sad how the Liberals are tying so hard to make a bigger story out of this then it is. Great how they aren't succeeding.
  13. "You already have her." Not definitive evidence of sexism against an MP in the House of Commons. The cnnections aren't obvious to anyone examining the evidence objectively.
  14. Very well said. It appears Drea's pronouncements of being a centrit ring hollow to many, many people.
  15. Your 'experiment' is truly beyond me. Maybe I just ain't smart enough to get it. Why was my theory half-baked? Here's the thing. Murphy's dumb-ass don't door knock between 2-5 wasn't a 'rule' a decade or two ago that any winning politician followed or anybody with knowledge of campaigns woudn't laugh off.
  16. Great post! The saddest part is Trudeau never thought that hes terrible fiscal management was an issue. And people consider him our greatest PM ever???
  17. Please quit trying to stir up trouble on the board. This part of your post adds nothing to the thread and could only have been intended to start a fight.
  18. I've been asked by the moderator to ignore your attacks. This is the only thing you have directed at me today that is attack free so I'll address it. Quivering with hate? Incorrect use of the aadjective. To quiver is generally associated with fear. Hmmm, the CPC is a party that needs to pick up five points or so six months before an election to gain a majority. No way that is "out the window" at the moment. Why are chances good he could lose in the spring? Are you saying that the conservatives have shown their "true colours", in your eyes, through their time in minority government?
  19. At least this time you tried to sorta respond. Lotsa chronics wake and bake. Just had my blood pressure checked. It's all good.
  20. Drea, sorry to confuse. I compared PET to Mulroney. Mulroney who won 2 majorities in 2 elections. One being the biggest landslide in history. Trudeau ran in six elections. Three majorities, two minorites and one loss. Comparable results.
  21. Like door-knocking in the 2-5 blackout period with a candidate who won?
  22. Actually I think Mulroney was the best. He made Canada's economy what it is today and helped get Stephen Harper elected. Some of you may hate the fact that Stephen Harper is our PM, but that's life.
  23. Drea, here's the post you tried to ignore. Either you think those tactics will work or you really can't think of a response. I'm more and more thinking you did smoke today. So any woman who supports the Conservatives is brainwashed and *anybody* who supports them is FOR a theocracy. Wow that sure is some centrist thinking. If the political centre in Canada is somewhere between the Liberals and the NDP. Did you smoke before starting to post today? Cuz you really aren't making much sense.... You forgot to explain why the Conventional Wisdom from the Harper is *scary* *scary* *scary* has changed? Before the election it was if the Conservatives won any goverment GOD FORBID. Didn't you know he would be *neutered* then? btw Nice hypocrisy with the use of the term neutered. That is as sexist as it gets. But you are a centrist.
  24. Nope, haven't been drinking Gerry. Have you? Is there anything actually wrong with what I said? Take a look at her posts as well before starting in with the attacks. Just pointing out how that poster called herself a "centrist" yet exhibited all the worst qualities of the Canadian left.
