  1. Uhhh, so military spending is on *toys*? Hmm, typical talk of respect except for an area you don't believe in.
  2. Energuide used to pay for the assessments. They found that upwards of 80% of people would get the assessment on the Government dime then not go ahead with the renovations. So much for the lots of people needing help. The assessments are much less than the cost of the renovations, even after the subsidy. IIRC with the new program people have to pay for the assessments, but *IF* they go ahead and get the work done their assessment money will be refunded. 50% spent on administration is awful. The Children's Wish Foundation should be ashamed of themselves, if your accusation is true...
  3. c'mon what are the odds he has any land to give? It's always easier to make a call for magnanimity and sharing when it doesn't effect you personally.
  4. I still believe the snide un-Americanism really hides a massive inferiority complex towards the U.S.
  5. After years of stonewalling, and a judicial inquiry of tens of millions of dollars, the Liberals paid back the $1.14 million dollars that was illegally obtained. That was promptly? As to the legality. An act in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy is part of that conspiracy. That the Government has NOT wasted more tax money prosecuting the crimes that are clearly evident to all but the most blinded Liberal hacks is not a positive reflection on the Liberal Party's actions. Just stick to the truth. Hey, keep it up though. Every Liberal out there who tries to defend the party over Adscam drives another voter, or two or three, to the Conservatives.
  6. Wow. What a great article. Unfortunately he is preaching to the converted in the Citizen and the Post...
  7. They were in power for two years after that and never did anything? Cancelling Energuide, streamlining it and bringing it back was a strong move. Energuide used to spend 50 cents per dollar on administration. wtf???
  8. So people should give up their jobs and work on minimum wage for the *experience*? Why not try making a realistic suggestion?
  9. What a profound response. One suggestion I would make is to move to a primary system for nominations. This could be modelled on one of a number of the different systems that exist in the US. Either have people register at tax time for the party they want to support or have open primaries. This would prevent leaders from appointing candidates and give people a chance to replace an MP when they have outlived their usefulness but represent a *safe* riding...
  10. Just in Catchme's mind... The wacky attack on the MP seems like it could lead to a stron sympathy vote for him. Chalk up another seat for your Canada's New *Majority* Government.
  11. Realistic proposal? Easy to snipe from the sidelines, but it's tough to make priorities.
  12. No. Provide a link and I'll take a look. No I don't agree. I think your snottiness and arrogance is quite offensive. The Conservatives are governing well. They only *look bad* in your hack partisan eyes. I definitely do agree that your appeal to discussion is undermined by such childish attacks on the party. Ahh, the hypocrisy and faux-intellectualism of the left is what I find funny. Please don't appeal to behaviour on a higher level rings pretty lame when you only direct it towards conservatives ... then you repeatedly won't behave at the level you want other people to behave at.
  13. Exactly. I have a feeling their actual ad buy was very, very small...
  14. Whatever. They are going to be upset about seeing political ads but won't care about watching dumb*ss mutual fund, car and restaurant ads over and over? Anybody who would care about a political ad on during the Super Bowl is a hack who's vote won't be effected by the ad anywyays...
  15. Wouldn't surprise me. It was well known that his French was much better in private.
  16. You say that, but... So is it keep it off the personal for everybody but you? Seems to me your higher level of conduct is only when it suits your purposes. Have you read the judge's decision? I am guessing you are just going of the quote in the story. Do please prove me wrong. This is a tempest in a teapot trying to make the Conservatives look bad out of nothing. Sorry, we aren't going to play by your rules in your attacks.
  17. Definitely. I trust Harper's political instincts to find a way to do so without hurting the sitting MP.
  18. I have noticed that too. Maybe the Conservatives paid for production and a small ad buy just for all the earned media from the news stories that followed. I did see one of them as an actual ad. Then again I only saw the Chrétien face ad once as an actual ad...
  19. I agree, only other party hacks get all ticked off over the abuse of the system. Especially when caught. The Liberals are so steamed about Adscam, a clear misuse of taxpayer money, they keep trying to make issues out of these non-stories...
  20. Turning it into an attack on *scary* *scary* *scary* is the only way the lefties can justify their lack of action. The Liberals will try to turn this an unwarranted attack simply because misdirection is the only way they can justify their terrible record.
  21. Hmmm, you selectively quoted my responses in a way that made it confusing. I was uncertain of the adjustment he was talking about. I now know and our last posts on the topic have been on the same topic. I responded to WDW? and you respond to me. Do you have two screen names here? Take one post in isolation, and Geoff or I, will answer any question you have. Then we can do the second then the third and so on.
  22. Don't waste your time and effort. WDW? is here to attack no matter what. Between the two of us we have explained a dozen ways how there was nothing nefarious about this adjustment. But the Harper-haters will make the point out of pure childishness than anything else. I put him on ignore and it has made my experience here much better.
  23. You had to selectively edit my post to come up with such an inspired response? Quality response sir. So I guess you agree with the majority of my post then.
  24. Embarrasing on so many levels. If a Conservative leader had made fun of a Liberals weight it would be a capital crime. Yet another example of left-wing bias in the media.
